Couldn't have asked for a better day!

Leah and the team at Bartley Lodge were absolutely incredible from start to finish. Our whole day was super relaxed, completely stress-free, and we always felt like everything was completely under control.

The venue looked stunning in the autumn sun, and every request we made was delivered perfectly. They even accommodated tractor storage the night before (a huge help!) and handled last-minute changes on the day, including adding an extra speech with no fuss at all. The small congratulatory touches left in our room were so thoughtful, and everyone staying overnight was able to have breakfast together, which meant a lot to us.

We weren’t bothered or rushed at any point — the whole day just ran smoothly and felt wonderfully chilled. If you’re looking for a beautiful venue with an amazing, attentive team who take all the stress away, we highly recommend Bartley Lodge.

Thank you so much for making our day perfect!

Amazing wedding venue!

I noticed there aren’t any recent reviews, and the most recent is scathing so I wanted to counter with a balanced and recent review. I had an amazing wedding at Bartley Lodge. The staff went above and beyond. I stayed the night before with my bridesmaids and will admit I was apprehensive on arrival as we had been allocated a different room than I was expecting and didn’t think it was suitable for 4 adults. I was told I should have specified the room I wanted when I booked, so bear this in mind - you may need to book multiple rooms if there’s a few of you. However, the staff worked immediately to rectify this and sorted my rooms out so I was happy. From there, everything was amazing, I was lucky enough to be allowed in the reception room the day before and staff had already got started on dressing the tables and chairs, and they didn’t seem to mind at all that we were flitting in and out to dress the centre pieces etc. On the day, we received breakfast in our room at the time we specified, otherwise were left to crack on with hair and make up without being disturbed. We were met by Charley at the time we needed to head downstairs, and she continued to be around for the rest of the day, making sure everything went smoothly. It was an absolutely fantastic day. I had requested a change of some dietary requirements about 5 days before and I could see there was a bit of confusion on the day, but this was also rectified and definitely on me, not the staff. Get your dietary requirements right the first time is my advice!! I’d like to give a special mention to Paf, the night porter who went well above and beyond his remit. In the morning of the wedding he was mopping the floors and fluffing pillows to make the venue sparkling, and the morning after the wedding, he was boxing up the table decorations well past his finish time. An absolute asset to the team! This venue is a stunning choice, but it is a 300 year old listed building, I chose brass candlesticks, eucalyptus and bud vases which gave major bridgerton vibes, but if you are looking for modern, chic and disco balls, this probably isn’t the venue for you.

Terrible wedding venue

So disappointed by the service, the bridal room and food. Embarrassed by the number of complaints from guests about undercooked food and refused milk/ butter alternatives although agreed by venue. Bridal room was grimy, dusty and smelt of vomit. Obvious from multiple previous weddings and reviews this has been raised and complained about and nothing has been done. Disgusted by the charges for food but you don’t receive it. Paid for charcuterie boards for ALL guests and told vegan/ vegan ones would be made with alternatives and had this clarified numerous times yet all they received were 1 x children’s moving mountain burger each, some sides I.e. olives and chutneys and fry crackers as they were refused flora even though it was served at the breakfast. DO NOT RECOMMEND BARTLEY LODGE! Absolutely disgraceful

Stunning ceremony room and lovely reception room!

This beautiful hotel was the venue of my daughter's wedding to her soulmate last Sunday. Stunning ceremony room and lovely reception room, and comfortable bedrooms. The gardens were beautiful. Just right for our guests to relax in whilst photos were taken. But the best part was the huge warm welcome from the manager, Sophie, Katy and all staff. Their support and friendliness continued throughout our 2 days there, and really made the event very special. I would recommend this hotel highly to other couples (and their parents!) in the search for the perfect place for their special day.

We have such joyful memories to last a lifetime...

Mitch and I are so overwhelmed with the delivery and service we have received from you for our wedding. We both appreciate all the effort, meticulous detail and passion that had gone into every bit of our special day and we also truly felt made to feel welcome - as did all our guests. Thank you again for all you have done, we have such joyful memories to last a lifetime and it wouldn't have been possible with any other team around it.

I would recommend Bartley Lodge to anybody!

We got married at Bartley Lodge in July 2017 and it was the most perfect day! The hotel and grounds are just beautiful. The gardens are superb, with lots of seating on the terrace. We had eaten at Bartley Lodge prior to our wedding and the food is always exceptional. The presentation and quality is second to none and the hotel was so accommodating regarding the dietary requirements of our wedding party.
With regards to having a wedding or special event at Bartley Lodge, Sophie is just amazing! She is so professional and made sure the day ran perfectly. The best thing about Bartley Lodge is the staff - every single member of staff is friendly and welcoming. They work so hard and are an asset to the company. I would recommend Bartley Lodge to anybody and we look forward to visiting again soon.

Everything was perfect!

We chose Bartley Lodge for my daughter's wedding on the recommendation of a friend. We certainly made the right choice. This wedding had been booked for 2 years and all the way along the staff and wedding organiser could not have been more helpful. Every little idea my daughter had was catered for including strings of fairy lights looped across the ceiling, afternoon tea for 72 at lunch time, evening BBQ with chips!( these proved extremely popular with all the guests who said they were the best they had ever tasted). The day ran smoothly with absolutely no pressure on timings or anything else. Sophie, the 'wedding lady' was there keeping an eye on everything. The night before we delivered boxes of favours, table plans, place names, children's activities, post box, tea light bubbles, citronella candles- all labelled with instructions. On the big day everything was in place and perfect! Amazing work Bartley! There were 6 small children at the reception and they were all very happy with being able to run free in the grounds equalling contented children/ happy parents. Lots of us stayed the night in the hotel. The rooms were comfortable, quiet and one or two, nicely quirky. Breakfast was fantastic. There was the usual serve yourself cereals, Danish, croissants, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, tomatoes and a myriad other things as well as a menu which included pancakes! After breakfast we all gathered in the gardens for a relaxed farewell over tea, coffee and juices. I cannot fault the day and the staff were just super! I am really going to miss this place and the friendly faces. It feels like a second home. We will have to visit for lunch or morning coffee on a regular basis.

We could not have hoped for a better venue!

My partner and I just got married at Bartley Lodge Hotel and we couldn't have hoped for a better venue for our big day. The staff were absolutely amazing, especially Sophie the wedding coordinator, who ensured that everything went perfectly all weekend. The food was fantastic, the rooms were so beautiful and all unique, the staff were so lovely and accommodating. Frankly I can't say a bad word about anything! 100% recommend Bartley Lodge for weddings, events or even just a short getaway. Thank you all so much!

Absolutely fantastic!

Wedding planning can be stressful but the support, help and advice we received was brilliant. Sophie, the event manager sorted our package from start to finish ensuring the day went smoothly. Paul, the general manager, was always available if needed. Lee the head chef met us personally to discuss our requirements and the food throughout the day was seriously good quality. Phillips, the pastry chef did a first class job on our wedding cakes. Millie on reception looked after our guests. In fact, every single member of staff made us feel personally welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you all so much. We have no hesitation in recommending Bartley Lodge Hotel for your wedding.
