1. Celebrity Honeymoons in Dubai

Dubai is renowned for being a huge celebrity engagement hotspot with Vicky Pattison's engagement taking place there. In fact, Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria and Olivia Attwood's engagements also happened in this glam spot.

Being home to so many high-profile engagements, it's no surprise that so many celebrity newlyweds choose to honeymoon in Dubai. Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan, Danielle Armstrong and Tom Edney and Paris Hilton and Carter Reum are just a few celebrity couples who chose to visit Dubai on their honeymoon adventures.

So why Dubai? Well, The United Arab Emirates offers celebrities a level of luxury that many other honeymoon destinations just can't. The weather is incredibly hot, with temperatures reaching 43 degrees in summer and averaging 25 in winter, the winter! 25 degrees in the UK has us Brits rushing to Tesco to buy barbeque bits and an ice bucket, making Dubai a year-round destination for fun in the sun.

Dubai, being a mostly man-made destination, is home to state of the art facilities almost everywhere you look. From five-star hotels and designer shopping malls, to exclusive beach clubs and a big yacht community, there's no scrimping when it comes to honeymooning in Dubai - no wonder the celebs love it so much.

If you want to honeymoon in Dubai celebrity-style, there are a few hotels and spots you need to have on your hit-list. For ultimate celebrity luxury, Palm Jumeirah is the place to be. This is the most expensive area in all of Dubai - you're sure to spot some famous faces there.

In terms of accommodation, there's no shortage of luxury hotels to choose from in Dubai, but if you're looking to stay in a celeb-favourite, these should be your go-to's.

Atlantis, The Palm is a five-star hotel that sits right on the beach in one of Dubai's most exclusive resort. The list of celebrities who frequent this hotel is beyond impressive, with the likes of Robert De Niro, Michael Jordan, Rita Ora and the Kardashian sisters all on their roster.

If you want to stay in the same hotel as George Clooney, Tom Cruise and Colin Firth, take yourself on down to Madinat Jumeirah, a luxurious celebrity hotel famous for it's incredible Instagram snapping opportunities.

As well as the five-star accommodation, celebrities aren't short of opportunities when it comes to exclusive restaurants to visit. A renowned celebrity favourite is Atmosphere, the world's highest restaurant located on the 122nd floor of the Burj Khalifa. As well as the unbeatable view, you may even spot some famous faces as the restaurant has been frequented by the likes of Eva Longoria, Anthony Joshua and Mariah Carey!

With restaurants in Las Vegas, Miami, Marbella, Santorini, Ibiza and more, Nobu is synonymous with celebrity guests at all of it's world-wide chains, and Nobu Dubai is no exception. Offering a Japanese Peruvian fusion update, the Dubai branch has seen stars like David Beckham, Usher, J-Lo and Khloe Kardashian grace it's doors, and you could be next!

2. Celebrity Honeymoons in the Maldives

We know we're experts in all things weddings and honeymoons, but you don't need us to tell you that the Maldives is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in the world with thousands of celebrities and us normal folk jetting there for post-wedding holidays.

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas enjoyed a swish honeymoon in the Maldives back in 2019. They stayed at celeb hot-spot Soneva Fushi and made the absolute most of everything these islands had to offer. Sharing content with their fans, the pair enjoyed cycling around the picturesque island, venturing down waterslides and enjoying the five-star cuisine.

The pair said the Maldives is 'paradise', a 'magical place' and somewhere Joe said he 'found happiness' - sounds pretty dreamy to us!

Unlike Dubai where certain restaurants act as celebrity hubs, celebrity spotting at the Maldives centres around where you stay. As most Maldives resorts are all-inclusive hotels with dozens of restaurants, bars, pools and amenities, honeymoons in the Maldives often mean never having to leave your hotel!

The Maldives 'one island, one resort' set up means privacy is high, which is probably why so many celebrities choose to honeymoon and holiday there. There is also a no-drone policy so even the paps can't get a look-in.

Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences is one of the most popular celebrity hotspots, perfect for couples who want to honeymoon like the rich and famous. Everyone from the Beckhams to the Ramseys have stayed in this resort which sits on one of just 26 natural atolls in the Indian Ocean.

From Serena Williams and Shakira, to Paris Hilton and Reddit's co-founder Alexis Ohanian, Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi has also housed some seriously famous celebrities. Just imagine who you might bump into...

3. Celebrity Honeymoons in Mexico

Many a celebrity couple have graced Mexico with their presence, and it's not hard to understand why. Similarly to honeymoons in Greece, Mexico has a number of resort areas, as well as a bustling city centre, giving you the best of both worlds when it comes to sunbathing and exploring.

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian enjoyed a honeymoon in one of Mexico's most luxurious neighbourhoods, Cabo San Lucas, staying in the Esperanza Auberge Resorts Collection. In fact, so did Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin before they parted ways, sorry, 'consciously un-coupled'.

Over in San Jose del Cabo is another celebrity honeymooning spot, One&Only Palmilla, which has housed guests such as Kevin Jones and Danielle Deleasa and comes complete with a 27-hole golf course and placed in the top 100 hotels and resorts in the world!

Other celeb-worthy locations include Acapulco, a gorgeous sea port and beach resort town on Mexico's Pacific coast, and Cancun, arguably Mexico's most famous city for holidaymakers. Here you will find unspoilt sea views, unbeatable nightlife and more five-star hotels and resorts than you can count.

What's more, there's also a whole host of luxurious restaurants and bars, many of which can be found in all-inclusive hotels. The Grand Velas Los Cabos resort in Mexico is rumoured to be home to the most expensive taco in the world. Covered in gold flakes, it's said to set restaurant goers back a staggering $25,000. Yum?

4. Celebrity Honeymoons in Italy

Italy is both a wedding and honeymoon destination for celebrity couples, with so many choosing to tie the knot in the gorgeous European country. Couples including George and Amal Clooney, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker and Marvin and Rochelle Humes have all tied the knot in Italy or renewed vows in various there, and that's just to name a few.

Given it's such a sought after wedding destination, it's no surprise that so many celebs choose to continue their post-marital celebrations here and honeymoon in Italy, too. Heidi Klum married Tom Kaulitz on board a luxury yacht in Capri and decided to follow that with a full week's worth of celebrations in Italy.

And even celebrities who didn't tie the knot in Italy have chosen to honeymoon there. After Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth's Californian wedding, the pair decided to jet off to Positano, one of the most stunning Italian honeymoon destinations on the Amalfi Coast.

Another popular Italian honeymoon destination is Lake Como which plays home to George and Amal, and is also where Emily Blunt married her partner John Krasinski. Other sought after destinations include Florence, where you'll find culture, stunning architecture and designer boutiques, and Tuscany where vineyards and cobbled streets are aplenty.

5. Celebrity Honeymoons in Bali

Power couple Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross spent their 2014 honeymoon in one of Bali's most exclusive and luxurious resort, giving this tropical spot the celebrity seal of approval. Their hotel, The St. Regis Bali Resort, located near honeymoon hotspot Ubud, has an on-site spa, outdoor lagoon pool, five-star amenities and more.

Two main areas to consider when honeymooning in Bali are Ubud, and Seminyak. Ubud offers newlyweds the ultimate party scene and unbeatable nightlife, though don't be fooled, rest and relaxation can still be had here in the flurry of all-inclusive resorts scattered around.

For those who want more culture and natural surroundings whilst on their celebrity-inspired honeymoon, we'd recommend staying in Seminyak where wildlife, waterfalls and wonderful views are everywhere you look.

And if you really want to push the boat out, consider a stay at Alila Villas Uluwatu, which is reportedly Bali's most expensive hotel - and for good reason too. What's more, whilst none were celebrating their honeymoons, Bali was the spot for the most recent series of Made in Chelsea, and those guys know how to do luxury.

If you're wondering where to go or what to do, our Bali honeymoon guide will tell you everything you need to know...

6. Celebrity Honeymoons in the Seychelles

When it comes to celebrities who honeymoon in the Seychelles, they don't come much more famous than the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who chose to jet off here for their honeymoon in 2011. Some say that these two put The Republic of Seychelles on the map for honeymooners, and argue that the 115-island country wasn't so well known before they got there - but we've always loved this place.

The royals chose to stay in the North Island Resort which is so exclusive, it houses just 11 villas, all of which are dotted along the island's almost-untouched beach. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will have wanted the highest level of privacy for their stay, so if you choose to honeymoon like them, you can guarantee an undisturbed trip.

And they're not alone - Paul McCartney, Salma Hayek, Elizabeth Hurley, Nicky Hilton and the Clooney's have all chosen to honeymoon in the Seychelles and have stayed in an amass of unbeatable hotels across Mahe, Praslin, La Digue and more of the idyllic islands in this archipelago.

From exploring the romantic city of Paris in one of the world's most amazing honeymoon hotels, to sunbathing in a five-star resort in the French Riviera, you can have almost every style of honeymoon in this European destination.

Holly Willoughby and her husband Dan spent their second honeymoon in St Tropez to celebrate their ten year anniversary in 2017. Opting for more of a city break, Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim hopped over to Paris for a romantic few days after their wedding before heading to Italy for the remainder of their honeymoon.

Another Paris-loving couple are Sacha Baron Cohen and his Francophile wife Isla Fisher tied the knot in Paris and were rumoured to spend their first marital holiday cooped up in the Coco Chanel suite at the five-star Ritz Paris hotel - not a bad way to honeymoon we guess...
