This "catering service" were employed for a siblings wedding last weekend. To say it was unprofessional is an understatement. To save a wall of text, let me put it into bullet points:
- Caterers were completely radio silent until the morning of the wedding. they ignored emails and voicemails from the concerned bride and groom in the run up to the ceremony.
- They arrived late to the venue, with no apology
- only one person turned up to serve the food, we were told that three others did not show up
- Canapees were over an hour late
- WEDDING GUESTS had to help serve the canapees.
- Dietary requirements, such as allergies were ignored and/or forgotten. Several people with special dietary requirements had to stand at the door of the makeshift kitchen and explain what they could/could not eat, even though this information was provided well in advance.
- The only employed server dropped dirty plates and tableware TWICE over the guests, one was the MOTHER OF THE BRIDE and the other was THE BRIDE HERSELF.
- The guests had to help clear the tables, thankfully the bar staff that were employed by the venue itself, not the catering firm also volunteered to help
-Guests had to request for the server to come back and clear away broken glass from the earlier incidents after she just disappeared, guests ended up doing it themselves.
- As for the food itself, it was an abomination:
- starter was one slice of mozzarella with a slice of tomato on top...that was it, nothing else.
- No seasoning was provided, not even salt.
- No bread
- Main course was the worst "effort" I have ever seen from a catering company that dares call itself professional. I have included a picture below. That was the ENTIRE main course. No vegetables, no gravy, nothing. Not a carrot or pea, or head of broccoli in the entire venue, just dry, tough beef with a slab of grey chicken and a soggy cabbage leaf.

All in all, it was horrendous food that I would be ashamed to serve to my dog.
Baba Ganoush, Ashley and Matthew Hyde should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

It is with regret that I am writing this review concerning the catering at our daughter’s wedding on 1st August this year. Firstly the catering team sent, of which there were only 3, arrived 10 minutes before the wedding service began! Nearly two hours later than expected. Of the team sent there were two servers for 80 guests and it took over 11/2 hours for the main course to be served to everyone. The desserts did not arrive for another hour and the whole service was not completed until 6:45pm when it should have finished at 5:00pm. Moving on to the food served which was supposed to be a BBQ was cold and tasteless with no BBQ in sight just a warming oven. Although told in advance, dietary requirements were not met for either the main course or the evening food. One of our young guests wasn’t given any food at all. When the desserts arrived they were incomplete with elements missing from each one. Despite over running significantly on time with the wedding breakfast, evening food was brought out literally 3/4hr after every guest had just eaten the main meal. Rubbish was left everywhere from the evening food and 12 portions of food were found the following morning in the catering tent despite stating in their contract that all rubbish and leftover food would be taken away for health and safety reasons. When we went to enquire as to whether they were going to clear up the rubbish we found that they had left! Obviously we got in touch with Baba Ganoush the morning after the wedding to express our disappointment in their incredibly late arrival and the poor service and quality of food, only to have to wait 14days for any response from the director Ashley Hyde. We have been holding off writing a review to see if the company offer compensation for basically spoiling a key part of our daughters wedding and although after several weeks of e-mails and phone calls they have offered a 75% refund, no money has materialised and hence we have contacted the small claims court for a full refund. Their customer service after an event is appalling, so if considering using Baba Ganoush for your special day, please be aware that if you do encounter problems, they are not interested in customer satisfaction, only in getting your money. Please also note that this company has been renamed and I advise checking company’s house before considering using them.

To all future couples and employees — stay away from this company! I know multiple people who currently work for, or have previously worked for, this company, and several have been left waiting weeks for wages they are owed. It is disgusting that staff are being left without money they have already worked for and earned. Employees have bills and lives to fund, and should not have to repeatedly chase for wages they are rightfully owed. Absolutely appalling treatment of staff. Do your research before committing to this company.

My wife and I were extremely disappointed with how things went on the day regarding the catering.

Up until the wedding day itself, we found Baba Ganoush to be very communicative, and we had a lovely time at our tasting session. All the details seemed to be in place and we felt confident that things would go smoothly on the day. We did feel uncomfortable that as soon as we had confirmed the booking with Baba Ganoush, we received almost daily emails pushing us to pay the balance up front and in full, despite having previously agreed a payment date that was weeks away. However, Baba Ganoush had such fantastic reviews that we didn’t think there would be any problems.

There were a large number of issues on the day. At no point did anyone from Baba Ganoush come and introduce themselves to us, which we would have appreciated. All the staff we encountered seemed very inexperienced and nobody appeared to be in charge to address any of the numerous problems. At the drinks reception, the strawberries and cream pots we had ordered were absolutely tiny, meaning some people had multiple pots and many people didn’t get any. We had specifically requested a lactose free cream option, and a bananas and cream option for someone who couldn’t eat strawberries, and having spoken to the relevant people, we can confirm none of them had these or were even aware they were on offer. If someone had asked us (or asked the venue co-ordinator) who the people with dietary requirements were, we could have pointed them out.

We had requested to have our wedding cake served as pudding. Baba Ganoush asked us to cut the cake as soon as we entered the room for the wedding breakfast, so that the cake could be taken away and cut up. Baba Ganoush wanted us to do this so they could pack down and leave as soon as possible. After we cut it, the cake sat in the main hall for hours, melting. We spoke to our venue coordinator about this, who had to ask Baba Ganoush three times before it was eventually taken away. Someone came out to get it and attempted to pick it up by himself, and somebody had to run over to stop him destroying it.

We understand that there were some electrical difficulties in the kitchen, but the main meal was served over half an hour late, meaning we had to put all our speeches in a row, which we didn’t want to do. We had been assured that Baba Ganoush would provide cloth napkins, which they did not. We ended up having to use paper ones which we had bought to use for the evening food that we had organised ourselves. When the food finally arrived, there were not enough pieces of chicken for one each on the top table, or enough vegetables. Someone had to go to the kitchen to ask for more of both. We then had to ask for serving implements, which had not been brought out, which our coordinator had to bring over - not something she should have to do.

It took so long for the food to be served that it was cold by the time we ate. Furthermore, it was very different to what we experienced at the tasting and what we were expecting to be served. At the tasting we had carrots, tenderstem broccoli and leeks, and on the day we had carrots, parsnips and shredded cabbage. At the tasting, the roast potatoes were brown and crispy, the Yorkshire pudding was light and fluffy and the chicken had crispy golden skin with lovely lemon and herb flavouring. At the wedding, the potatoes were far too salty and not crispy, the Yorkshire pudding was dry and tasteless and the chicken was pale and didn’t taste lemony (which was the reason we chose it in the first place).

As a result of the cake not being taken and sliced up immediately, we had to change plans, so that it was served during tea and coffee instead. This was the time we had agreed with our photographers that we would leave the venue to get some photos. Therefore, we did not get to have any of our wedding cake, which was especially upsetting for the bride as she is coeliac and has never had wedding cake before. We were asked if we wanted to serve all of the cake and we said yes. When we checked the fridge the following day, at least a third of the bottom tier was still in there. The cake ran out really quickly and if it had all been served, everyone would have got some. We cannot understand why Baba Ganoush ignored our explicit instruction to serve it all. Also left in the fridge were four dairy free cupcakes which we had made for the people who needed them. All our efforts to include people with dietary requirements were in vain because Baba Ganoush inexplicably did not serve them.

In spite of putting very clear plans in place that were agreed by Baba Ganoush, they made our wedding really stressful. It felt like it was one thing after another going wrong and if it hadn’t been for our incredible coordinator, it would have been a total disaster. This is baffling to us as we had so many emails and phone calls with Baba Ganoush where we went over the plan in great detail, only for it to be seemingly forgotten about and/or ignored. The standard of both food and service was unacceptably low and nothing like what we had been led to expect.

Baba Ganoush were absolutely perfect during our three-day wedding. They catered everything, from the welcome barbecue to the welcome canapés, wedding breakfast, charcuterie and lunch the following day.
Hannah, our coordinator on the day was exceptional. Communication was excellent, and the overall service was perfect. The team on the day were excellent and operations ran like a well-oiled machine. Our food was somehow even better on the day than we expected!
The team were also accommodating of several uncommon dietary requirements, as well as a few menu additions we had to help us honour the bride's cultural heritage.

I would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone! Whilst they may offer some attractive deals and seem very professional at first glance, please don't fall for this like we did. We are currently in the process of trying to get a refund from this company which shows how bad the service we received was. We were left extremely disappointed by the food we were served on the day as it was nothing like what was promised at the tasting day. When we had our tasting there were a few tweaks we wanted to make but on the whole as we fed back to our coordinator much of what we ate was excellent. Unfortunately when it came to on the day not only was the food not amended in the ways we had asked for after the trial but it was also not even the same food that was served to us in our tasting.

We put our trust in BG to deliver a Filipino inspired menu to represent my husband's heritage. His family travelled overseas to be with us on the day and we were excited for them to try the food. What was delivered on the day made us embarrassed to have called the food 'Filipino inspired'. We never expected the food to be authentic but we at least had expected something close to what was delivered on the tasting day.

The seasonings used across all dishes were generic and nothing like what we had tried before. Saucy, adobo became dry, almost american style bbq chicken. Crispy lechon inspired pork belly was not remotely crispy and yet extremely dry in texture with , 5 spice the only dominant flavour. To top it all off the garlic rice wasn't even cooked! Multiple guests told us that the rice was not cooked and that portion sizes varied widely across servings. Whilst the Filipino flavours that somehow dissappeared from the food between the tasting and the wedding day are quite unique to our menu, the inability to deliver the basics at scale is something everyone should be concerned about!

Overall we were extremely disappointed with our wedding food and it really ruined the afternoon for us. As this was supposed to be a celebration of my husband's culture we were really upset to see that what was delivered was nothing like what we had tasted previously and paid a lot of money for. BG knew from the start that this meal had cultural and emotional significance and chose to take this on. I will reiterate, we never expected authentic Filipino food but we expected a well cooked meal which tasted like the meal we had been served at our tasting.

In addition, we were disappointed by the administration side of things in the run up to the wedding as we were chased for payments which had already been made and given conflicting and wrong information multiple times. The tasting however gave us confidence that BG could deliver, unfortunately this was not the case. We had a terrible experience and would urge anyone to think twice about booking BG, particularly if you are looking for anything bespoke or unique for your wedding meal.

As mentioned at the top of this review we are currently in the process of trying to get some money back due to our experience. In April we were told to wait 30 days for a 20% refund, it is now almost July and we have still received no money back. Emails have been ignored or we've been told it will be 'looked into' and we have heard nothing since.

Under any other contract, not receiving the service you paid for at the quality level you'd been led to expect would result in a refund. The inability of the company to just deal with our complaint and issue our refund in a timely manner speaks volumes about the service you can expect in the run up to your wedding.

Baba Ganoush were amazing from start to finish! The prepping/planning process was so stress free with a member of the team always on hand for all of our questions. This carried right through to the day where Maisie was our coordinated and so attentive to us at the Bride and Groom, an all our guests. The food was exceptional - would 100% recommend!

What amazing food and service from the lovely Baba Ganoush. Jess was a star from the absolute start - so helpful and making sure everything was planned to perfection. All of the additional touches like getting to visit the kitchens before hand and doing our taster sessions made wedding planning feel so special. The food on the day was delicious and all our guests are still commenting on how amazing it was. Thank you Jess and team for a brilliant wedding menu. We loved it so much!

Baba were recommended by our venue and we couldn't have picked a more accommodating caterer. The entire team were responsive to all our questions and provided the most amazing food, generously portioned, that our guests loved. We had so many compliments about the food - from bespoke canapes to the sharing feast to the roaming evening food. Nothing was too much trouble for the team, even when we were stressing over last-minute number changes. We can't thank Maisie and the team enough! X

We had the absolute pleasure of having Babaganoush as the caterers for our wedding, and they were exceptional from start to finish.

Food is a huge part of my wife’s and I’s life, so choosing the right caterers was a big decision for us. Babaganoush exceeded every expectation.

Maisie and the team were incredible throughout. They were always quick to respond, attentive to every detail, and accommodating of any request. Our bespoke tasting session was amazing, and they even created custom dishes just for us.

Before the big day, the team were proactive in setting up the kitchen and the venue, which really helped alleviate any stress. On the day itself, they arrived promptly, served phenomenal food (many guests said it was the best wedding food they’d ever had), and delivered flawless service.

To top it all off, it was such a lovely touch to receive a bottle of fizz and well wishes from the team.

We honestly couldn’t recommend Babaganoush more highly.

Baba Ganoush were so amazing! From the very first contact all the way to the last bite of eat they were perfect. We had several calls with the team to create our perfect menu and they were so helpful, even making a bespoke dish for us. They were so accommodating for us, even with our newborn baby!, and made sure we were happy at all steps.

The tasting was such a great evening, like a date at a fancy restaurant, and then in the lead up to the wedding they stayed in touch so there were no nerves.

On the day everything went so seamlessly as a couple we were able to just enjoy the day and not think about things. The team even made sure to keep some canapes aside for us. The food and service were faultless and received a lot of compliments. People loved the food so much they didn't stop eating to take photos! The official photos are basically exactly as served at the wedding so feel assured you can go off these!

We had canapes, sharing plates, and evening food and each part was excellent. The pork belly bites, goats cheese tartlet, and Wensleydale bon bons my personal canape highlights. The chicken shawarma, bespoke aubergine stew and roasted squash salad mains were amazing and all the desserts incredible. Too be honest, everything they served was great

We had so many compliments on the food at our wedding! The canapés were amazing- sticky pork bites especially!
We went for the beef roast and it was fantastic.
Baba were really good at catering to allergies and answered all questions we had at every step.

Meeting them at wedding fairs, the menu tasting, emails, phone calls and the service on the day was efficient, so friendly and professional.

The food was fantastic, all of our guests have said how delicious the burgers and halloumi skewers were. Emma and the team fully understood the vibe we were after and they absolutely nailed it.

When it came to planning our wedding, organising the food was the thing we dreaded the most as we have so many fussy eaters in our family including one of the brides haha and we wanted to ensure every one of our guests enjoyed there meal and Baba Ganoush certainly made that happen.
We did our initial meeting and explained what our ideal menu would be, and they were more than happy to accommodate what we requested, even made tweaks following our taster evenings and again they were more than happy to accommodate what we requested.
We had various guests with different dietary requirements (gluten free, vegetarian and vegan), which we thought might make the food a little more stressful to organise but they made sure all there dietary requirements were met without any extra cost or major changes which made it so easy for us.
We loved the food at the taster evenings so knew we had made the right decision but was really given the seal of approval when so many of our guests commented on how beautiful the food was, portion sizes was more than enough - our guests were full to the brim haha.
The waiters were lovely on the day, we over ran with our photos so didn’t get chance to enjoy the canapés with the rest of the guests but the waiters ensured we still got some and placed them on our table for when we sat down.
I honestly can not recommend them enough, great value for money and honestly made everything so easy to organise they took care of everything for us and made what we thought was going to be stressful so very easy so big thank you from Mrs & Mrs Jobson.

Amazing! Baba Ganoush catered for our wedding day and we couldn’t have asked for a better company to do so!
The food was beyond amazing and the professionalism of their staff was second to none. Right from the first tasting session through to the big day Baba were so helpful.
