Having Foray cater for our daughter's wedding reception in June at Holker Hall was the best decision we made. Every course was absolutely delicious and all our guests have said it was the best wedding food they have tasted. Some have even commented that the beef main course was the tastiest piece of beef they have ever eaten!

They are a great company to work with. From the outset they couldn't have been more helpful, responsive and enthusiastic about planning the wedding breakfast. We loved that we were able to choose a totally bespoke menu and we tried this at a tasting a few months before the wedding. What a treat! It was not only a gastronomic delight but a visual one too. Everything was fantastic and we wondered if they would be able to recreate this perfection on the actual wedding day for the 115 guests. They did not disappoint. Everything was fabulous and it was cooked in a marquee field kitchen! Oli - you are amazing!!

Guests also commented on how lovely the waiting on staff were on the day too.

Our main contact was Stephen - what a great guy! He was so easy to get along with and helped make the planning of a marquee wedding a lot less daunting. He liaised with our other suppliers and wedding planner Jessica Sharpe (who were also all fantastic) so everything ran smoothly on the day.

To everyone at Foray - you helped to make Lauren and Simon's wedding such a special day. We can't thank you enough.

Foray catered our wedding at Allan Bank, Grasmere. They were consummate professionals throughout the process and we would wholeheartedly recommend them.

From the beginning of the wedding planning process, they were accommodating and welcoming. They worked seamlessly with our other suppliers, and were very patient in meeting various requests (such as serving cake and tea) through the planning process.

We were also very impressed with the menu tasting experience, delivered in their beautiful restaurant Aven, in Preston.

They were especially impressive on the day, and numerous guests and suppliers commented on how exceptional the food was and how efficient and professional the team were.

All the food was delicious and elegantly presented, and the canapés were particularly excellent!

From the start of your experience with this team you will be communicated to with a friendly and professional manner. Their team are fun, friendly and deliver wonderful food... what more do you need?! Each event I have worked on with them has gone wonderfully even in challenging venues. I appreciate their effort and good humour as well as flexibility.

I couldn't recommend Foray Catering highly enough. The food obviously speaks for itself, which is no surprise given the credentials and experience of the two chefs, but what impressed me more about Foray was their process in the run up to the wedding, the people we dealt with (in particular Stephen and Voilaine and then the delivery on the day itself. Deciding on the caterer for your wedding is daunting and we found that we were all over the place initially. We both wanted amazing food but, beyond that, didn't really have any idea where to go. Foray have sample menus with guide prices (which many caterers don't offer) but you are then invited to essentially ask for whatever you want. We had an initial zoom about wedding numbers, location etc with Violaine. We were then invited to a taster evening (definitely do this) where both Stephen and Olly (one of the chefs) came to speak to us to discuss what we wanted, how they could amend the dishes (which was pretty much limitless) and also what they'd recommend. One key thing that Foray do is offer choice to your guests, so we were able to send our guests a menu first where they could pick their starter, desert and a main; they then even catered for dietary requirements outside of this. We ended up offering a meat option, a fish option and then a vegan option. They'll build it to fit with cost so, if you're into your food, this is a dream.

Once the menu was nailed down I expected to not hear anything until the wedding... I was very wrong. They checked in with us regularly and even went above and beyond in helping us with some coordination which was well outside of their remit as caterers (table plans, layouts, timings, additional staff).

Our venue didn't have a bar so we also used Foray's cocktail staff and waiting staff who were equally as amazing.

On the day itself, their staff was hero's and really added to our enjoyment and experience; Stephen himself stepped in to help out with some coordination issues we had and we're both eternally grateful for this on what wad the biggest day of our life.

This sounds like an exaggeration but our guests were absolutely blown away by the food. Many of our guests have never had the opportunity to enjoy food of this quality and we were really happy to be able to give them that experience.

If you want food (and cocktails) to play a big part in your day, to have a tailored menu and don't want to have to worry *one bit* about the delivery, Foray is for you. They are worth every penny and more.

What a team! Matt, Oli, Steve and Vi, we can’t thank you enough. Foray absolutely exceeded our expectations in every way. On the Saturday, everyone was commenting on how lovely and amazing your team were, and that the food was restaurant level. I think my favourite quote was ‘you had no business having such excellent pizza at a wedding’. Honestly the best decision we made for the wedding, we are so glad you could be part of it.

Absolutely fantastic experience with Foray! For our wedding at the Silverholme Manor, the tent provider (All About ME Marquees) I chose neglected to do a site visit until 72 hours before the wedding. This resulted in very serious and major issues. The Foray team arrived on site early to figure out alternative solutions. What could have been an absolute nightmare turned out to be a beautiful event. This is because Stephen, Oli, and of course Violaine are true professionals who went beyond their roles and responsibilities to make sure things run smoothly. Oli designed a custom menu with British & local ingredients at heart and with Turkish and German influences. When we had our tasting appointment, it was so difficult to decide which option to go with because everything was so good. The pizza station we had the evening before the wedding was a great success despite the rain: even the most discerning of our guests went in for seconds. Violaine recommended the finest wine pairings but was also budget-conscious enough to suggest that we order some items from Tesco directly. Stephen and his service team were all absolute pro's: during the wedding breakfast, my husband remarked how, for every serving of every dish, Stephen comes out of the catering tent, with the ladies coming after him like beautiful ballerinas in perfect order and harmony. These are all small details, but hopefully I was able to communicate how the Foray team goes above and beyond to make sure the whole event is a success. From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much!

The Foray Catering team are absolutely fantastic. They catered our full wedding weekend, starting with pizzas & ice cream on the Friday night, brunch on Saturday, and then the wedding dinner, plus evening cheese! All the food was superb, matched by their service and professionalism.
We would consider ourselves quite 'foody' people - we've eaten at many of the best restaurants in the UK - so food was really important to us at our wedding, and Oli and Matt surpassed our expectations. They were super relaxed about bespoking the menu to suit our specific tastes & preferences (including serving marmite butter - SO good!), and on top of it all they are some of the nicest people we've ever met.
Stephen ran the service like clockwork, always making sure we were happy with everything (which we inevitably were), and ensured we could relax in the knowledge that our guests were well taken care of.
We are immensely grateful to Oli, Matt, Stephen and Vi for making such a huge part of our wedding so memorable for all the right reasons.

We chose Foray Catering for our wedding in Cartmel because of their food ethos of keeping it local and using local farms and suppliers. Their menus are innovative and offer something a bit different to others we looked at. The service we received was exceptional, their attention to detail and quality of ingredients was second to none. Matt and Stephen offered ideas and suggestions at our tasting evening, creating a perfectly balanced and delicious menu for us and our guests. On the day itself everything was perfect, from the planning and organisation to the superb food, their team are a delight and nothing was too much trouble. Many of our guests commented that this was the "best food they've had at a wedding". The owners and staff at our venue enjoyed working with the Foray team - they are a joy to work with and true professionals. If you are looking for a wedding caterer I can wholeheartedly recommend Foray, they are excellent.

Where to begin. We were fans of Oli and Matt’s food years ago when they were both chefs at Hipping Hall. When we got engaged, we knew we wanted them to cook for us at our wedding, and it was like fate that Foray Catering was created around that time. From the very first enquiry, Violaine was helpful, informative, responsive and helped us every step of the way with our booking. Nothing was too much to ask and Violaine would advise us when we needed help on some decisions. As we started to approach the wedding day, we were introduced to Stephen the event manager - Stephen went out of his way at every step to ensure everything went to plan and that Nick and I were happy, he too was so easy to work with, warm and professional. At the wedding tasting we met the chefs, Oli and Matt - these guys are passionate about what they do and they have taken event and wedding catering to another level. Oli and Matt are not your average wedding caterers, they are fine dining chefs and they deliver locally sourced exquisite food. Our guests were, quite frankly gobsmacked at the level of professionalism delivered by team Foray, the canapés, wedding breakfast and evening food ran like clockwork - every single member of staff was helpful and professional. Everyone has since told us again and again how much they enjoyed the food. The little touches like Foray bringing a plate of canapés just to Nick and I so we made sure we enjoyed them, really made a difference. Oli, Matt, Violaine, Stephen and the rest of team Foray - we cannot thank you enough. We so look forward to seeing you guys grow further over the coming years. Do not hesitate to book Foray as your wedding or event caterer, the level of food and service from day one far exceeds 5 stars (if only there were more to give you guys!!) It’s difficult to get to express with words just how amazing Foray was as the wedding breakfast suppliers for our May wedding. From the consultations, the regular check ins, to the day itself and check up after we couldn’t be more grateful to Foray for helping to make our day so special.
Our guests still say now that they have never eaten food like it at a wedding and I can honestly say we agree! Delicious just doesn’t do it justice.

From our initial call with Vi (who is knowledgeable, helpful and thoughtful), to our ongoing conversations and main man of the day Stephen (who is absolutely brilliant and a good lad who led & assembled a lovely, friendly & professional front of house team); and of course to Matt & Oli and talented chefs…. Wow. You guys nailed it. Would 100% recommend and I look forward to more Foray food treats in the future.

Foray Catering are a brilliant team of people, and helped us to create a very special wedding experience. Throughout the planning stages, everyone was helpful and efficient, and dealt smoothly with changes to our ideas and plans. We were so happy with the bespoke menu we created together, and Foray really brought to life our image for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations.
On the day itself, we couldn't have asked for a better team and experience. Stephen, the event manager made everything run perfectly and was always a friendly, calm person to have around. Oli and Matt produced INCREDIBLE food, which many of our guests commented on. The waiters and bartenders were charming and efficient. The team were not at all intrusive, and moved around guests with ease.
I can't thank Foray enough for everything they did for us. I would highly recommend them to anyone who asks. In fact, I can't think of any 'warning' points or ways in which their service could be improved. All round, a fantastic catering company, and lovely people.
