Wild Orchid is a professional make up business based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, offering make up services for your weddings and other special occasions. The company is owned and run by makeup artist Kirsty Pender. She trained with renowned, award winning make up artist, Zoë Kennedy (owner of ZK Make Up Studios) and works nationwide. Before Kirsty qualified as a MUA, she spent 13 years in the floristry industry. Specialising in weddings, Kirsty has attended over 500 wedding days, working closely with happy couples and seeing nearly every look and style imaginable.

Kirsty specialises in luxury Bridal Makeup and, with a wealth of experience, has extensive knowledge to deliver the perfect look for your magical day. Whether subtle elegance or stunning flamboyance, you will be in great hands to ensure your big day starts perfectly. Ahead of your wedding day, Wild Orchid MUA offers bridal makeup trials where you can get to know your wedding day artist and begin to bring your dream look to life. On your wedding morning, she will arrive as early as needed, allowing you to make the most out of the big day, and won't leave you until final touch-ups have been done and you're about to walk down the aisle. Wild Orchid also covers all other looks from Prom to Glam, Events and is very confident in Asian Bridal.
Kirsty is constantly learning and striving to provide the latest styles for her clients, using top-end products to ensure your chosen look lasts the entire day.

As early as possible as to ensure dates are available and also to book in a mandatory bridal makeup trial (ensuring you have the best experience on your wedding day!)

Travelling charge will depend on the location and time taken but they average at £20

How many people can you beautify for one wedding?
I can personally do up to 8 clients on the day, if there is more then I shall bring an assistant
Can you provide your beauty services for pre-wedding and post-wedding photography?

What are the forms of payment?
My payment terms are on the day of the trial for the trial makeup and payment for the bride and bridesmaids on the big day can be made in advance or on the day via bank transfer

The most amazing MUA!
Kirsty is, hands down, the best MUA I've worked with!
I told Kirsty straight away about my main concerns: my oily skin, makeup feeling too heavy, and how all my tears will make everything move. Kirsty was SO in-depth, trying to understand my skin type, the type of look I wanted, what my typical skin prep was like... and did this for all of the bridal party that were getting their makeup done. Her level of care and attention to detail was unparalleled, and I knew we were all in great hands with Kirsty after our trial; my makeup lasted all day despite feeling light, and Kirsty took on all the feedback I sent and was ready to give me the perfect on-the-day look. She took detailed notes and several photos during the trial and even had her revised notes ready for the big day - she was incredibly prepared, and listened to us when we described things that we wanted a bit differently.
I am SO happy with the whole process, and it was an absolute bonus that Kirsty is a fab person and was fun to be around, too. She was an absolute joy, had the best response time out of any of my suppliers, and made us all feel so comfortable, so quickly. I even had a bit of a diva moment the morning of the wedding and Kirsty took it so well, and I appreciate her kindness and patience in that situation so much. I would absolutely hire Kirsty for any future events and would recommend others do the same!

Bridal makeup with Kirsty
Kirsty did my makeup for our October wedding. We had already met in August for a pre-wedding trial which I would definitely recommend. As a mature bride and someone who doesn't really wear much makeup and has literally no clue what to use or how, I was a little apprehensive. Kirsty put me at ease immediately. She is friendly, professional and brilliant at her job. On the day, I felt at ease, confident and beautiful! I would highly recommend Kirsty.

Perfect Wedding Makeup
I could not recommend Kirsty enough!!!
Kirsty did the make up on my wedding day for myself and my bridesmaids. From the initial trial and leading up to the actual day, Kirsty was just amazing, so professional and responsive.
The makeup was perfect, not only did it last, it was exactly how I had envisioned to look on my big day.
The amount of compliments I got was a true testament to her work.

The loveliest and most talented MUA!
I would highly recommend Kirsty as your make up artist!
From the moment I met Kirsty at my trail I felt so relaxed in her company. Her attention to detail, communication, talents and flexibility were amazing. She went above and beyond to make myself and my bridal group feel beautiful, confident and well looked after... going the extra mile by organising a trail for my mother in law who was nervous about having her make up done by someone else, and also staying much longer than she needed to for touch ups and even helping me into my dress when my family were running behind schedule sorting other bits for the day!
The products she used were gorgeous quality and my make up stayed on all day and night even when it was the last warm day of September 🥵
I cant wait to see my face in our professional photos (which I will of course share with you Kirsty!)

Perfect Bridal Makeup
I had the absolute pleasure of having Kirsty as my makeup artist for my wedding, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. From our first consultation, it was clear that she is not only incredibly talented but also truly cares about her clients. She took the time to listen to my vision, asked thoughtful questions, and made sure she fully understood what I wanted before we even started.
Her attention to detail is impeccable. She perfectly matched my skin tone and customized the makeup to enhance my features without ever making me feel overdone. Despite the emotional day (and many tears), my makeup remained flawless, and I didn’t have to touch it up once!

Perfect from start to finish
Kirsty was amazing. From first contact she was quick at responding and great at answering any questions I had. We arranged a trial and I showed some inspiration pics and she set to work. She created a fab look and I was so pleased. She checked in after the trial to see if there was anything I wanted to change or adapt. We spoke about changing the colour of the lip and kirsty had so many options. On the day kirsty arrived promptly and set up and got to work. She made me feel comfortable and at ease. I had so many compliments on how flawless I looked and I can't recommend her enough!

Exactly what I wanted!
Kristy was amazing from the moment I messaged, to the moment I walked down the aisle. She was easy to contact, easy to message and an over all a lovely person! Kirsty was very professional, she offered tips and tricks on the trial run, listened to what I wanted and ran with it. My makeup turned out exactly how I wanted it, and I couldn’t have been happier.
Kristy did 4 women’s makeup on the day, she didn’t act stressed or overwhelmed in the slightest. She knew exactly what she was doing and that made me feel at ease.
I would 100% recommend Kirsty.

Better than I could have ever imagined!
I was recommended Kirsty through the florist I was getting my flowers from! I’ve never been so grateful for a recommendation, Kirsty was an absolute angel! I had never had my makeup done professionally before, so didn’t even have the foggiest clue what I wanted for my big day. For my trial she helped me work out what it was I was looking for and brought it to life. We did the trial in the morning and I had an engagement shoot the evening and the make up lasted all day even through a nap! I dare say my make up turned out even better on the big day, and all my bridesmaids were beautifully done too. Honestly it was like hanging out with a friend getting my make up done, felt like I’d know Kirsty for ages, she put me so at ease. All the bridesmaids were singing her praises too, both on how the make up looked and her company. I could not recommend highly enough, which might of come across is my rambling review! But if you’re thinking of booking don’t hesitate and reach out! I’m sure you’ll have no regrets!

Couldn't recommend enough
Kirsty was absolutely fantastic thoroughout the process. She was lovely, professional and upfront from the start. Every choice in the look was collaborative, she had a great balance of suiting my needs and wants and giving her professional opinion.
She is super friendly and she made my trial and the morning of my wedding so much fun. I absolutely loved my look and I even picked up a few ideas on making my own makeup better in the future. My little touch up kit has also come in handy even after the big day!
Would definitely recommend and may try to find an excuse to work with her again.

The best makeup artist!
I have used Kirsty for every event I have wanted to feel beautiful! She is amazing at what she does. Kirsty did my makeup my sisters and my mums for my sisters wedding day and we all looks flawless we all have different types of skin and styles in which Kirsty catered too! full glam to natural any style highly recommend Kirsty! Kirsty was amazing from start to finish! She came early on the day and even stayed a while to touch up. She tailored all the looks to our outfits and was happy to make any changes we requested. Myself, my sister & my mum all felt so comfortable and beautiful and the make up lasted all day 😍 You're amazing at what you do!! We will definitely use you for future events too! Xx
