In Old Harlow, Essex, you can host an unforgettable wedding day celebration at That Amazing Place, a charming countryside event venue. Surrounded by an acre-upon-acre of lush green landscape, this inviting destination provides a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The manor that sits at the property's heart was originally built during the 15th century and operated as a monastery. Today, it maintains all of its historic charm while providing the essential amenities needed for the modern couple. With a guest capacity ranging from 100 to 150 people, this is an idyllic location for both intimate and extravagant gatherings.
Facilities and Capacity
That Amazing Place has several event sites for you to use on your wedding day. The downstairs function space inside the manor features a lobby, two reception rooms, and a fully-licensed bar area. It also has a spacious outdoor patio overlooking the grounds with a peaceful view of a lake. The Marquee can seat up to 150 for a ceremony, The Hall can seat up to 100 people and the Lakeview Lounge can seat 70. Alternatively, you can also say your vows alfresco underneath an outdoor gazebo against a charming lakeside backdrop. Set up the dining marquee for a comfortable covered-outdoor experience alongside 150 of your nearest and dearest.
Pre-Wedding Accommodation
Stay the night before your wedding in The Wedding Lodge, our bridal prep house, situated right next to the venue. This house has 4 double bedrooms (sleeping up to 8 guests), 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen/dining room, a lounge, a bridal preparation room and a lovely large garden, perfect for relaxing drinks the night before the wedding and beautiful photos the following morning.

A beautiful wedding venue!
The moment we walked in to That Amazing Place to meet Angie and have a look around, we knew it was where we wanted to get married…. as we sat down our song was playing!
From the moment we said yes, everything ran so smoothly. Angie is so personable, no question we asked was silly, she suggested ideas which worked with decorations, food and the flow of the day.
We chose the twilight ceremony and as it was a winter wedding had walk around bowl food, Lizzy at Magpie Catering - delicious! So many lovely comments!
The day itself was perfect! Everything went to plan and so smoothly (if it didn’t we have no idea!! Haha!)
The decoration was perfect, the ceremony, the food, the music… it was everything we wanted!

Best day ever, this place is truly amazing
The best day of our lives!
In the lead of to the wedding Angie was always there! No question was to silly and nothing was ever to much to ask.
The venue itself it’s absolutely stunning and the family that own the property are the nicest people you will ever meet they make you feel like you are part of there family!
We honestly can no out into word how grateful we are for making our day run so smoothly and ensuring everything was what we invisioned and more!

The best day of our lives in a magical setting
The only thing I need mention is that if you’re not a dog person there are loads of the furry fellas roaming the grounds…and one roamed a little too close and walked over the train of my wife’s wedding dress seconds before she walked down the aisle 🤣 no harm done in the end though!
In particular a MASSIVE mention to Louise our coordinator, she was so helpful and kind. From the build up to and on the day of she made the whole event a well oiled machine. She and the team were so kind and helpful to all of our guests throughout the night and everyone noted it to us.
Thank you to TAP, we had the best day of our lives and it’s because of each one of you!

What can i say! 100% have your wedding here, you will not be disappointed. From first meeting Angie and the team in 2023, all the way through they were fantastic. We stayed in the beautiful cottage the night before. Our wedding morning, service, meal, evening everything was perfect.
