Unique and Unusual Wedding Venues in Surrey

Painshill Park was the most breathtaking setting for our wedding. From the moment we first visited we knew it was the perfect place for us. The Crystal Grotto completely stole the show. It is so unique, unlike anything we had ever seen before, and it created the most stunning setting for our ceremony. It felt like stepping into another world and made our day truly unforgettable. Everywhere you look the grounds are beautiful, with so many different elements to explore and take photos in and around, offering a variety of special settings (We can’t wait to see all our pictures!). Our guests could not stop talking about it and complimenting how incredible it was. Emma and the team were wonderful from start to finish, attentive and organised, making sure everything ran smoothly so we could simply enjoy ourselves. Our guests still talk about how special and different the venue was. We will always cherish the memories we made here and would recommend Painshill Park to any couple looking for a wedding venue that is romantic, unique and completely unforgettable.

Stunning in every respect. Planning our wedding celebration was a challenge as we have family living overseas, so needed to create something extra special that would make their long journeys worthwhile. Turks fitted the bill perfectly. We adore this stretch of the river Thames and what you experience with hiring a wedding boat (that no fixed venue can offer)- is that you get to enjoy the whole scenic stretch taking in the most beautiful sights. We started with a champagne reception followed by a Celebrant ceremony (we'd legally married at a register office quietly a few weeks before). To be saying our personal vows to each other as the scenic river passed by was romantically memorable in a way that people are still talking about many weeks on! We then all enjoyed a hot food buffet. From the moment we stepped on board, the atmosphere was fun - people can mix together so easily on a boat. The Turks team were exemplary - they really care that you have a great time and were so helpful leading up to our day, and just a seamless service on the day. You don't notice they are there but everything was perfection. The food was delicious. Our photographs are wonderful as they tell a story throughout our celebration with the different backdrops from Richmond to Hampton Court. We really did have a Wow wedding celebration like no other!

Me and my wife got married in May this year and chose Woodhaven for the Reception, with a very small number of people, and Nicky has taken all the necessary measures to have an amazing celebration in a safe environment. Nicky has been incredibly diligent since day one, always looking for the best way to accommodate our ideas and also coming up with valuable suggestions as to the best way to organise the party. Nicky has real ecological considerations, from the materials we use to the food we eat. With Nicky's selection of chefs, we asked for dishes with Italian, Portuguese and Indian inspiration - and they were delivered! Delicious food, in a gorgeous setting. Woodhaven is a large, beautiful house with a large, beautiful garden, offering the guests the possibility of enjoying both indoor and outdoor spaces. We can tell cooperation is very important to Nicky as Woodhaven also facilitated our arrangements for flowers, the cake, the photographer, and the drinks. We managed to bring our own bartender (a family friend) who kindly liaised with Nicky. Woodhaven helped us have our dream Reception, in respect to family, privacy, and simplicity. We are very thankful to the whole team for an unforgettable experience.

We held our wedding reception at City of London Freemen’s School and it was absolutely perfect. The grounds are stunning, we had a marquee joined to the common room in main building, and thanks to beautiful weather we were able to open the sides and look out over the Italian Garden, which created such a special atmosphere. What really stood out to us, though, was the incredible staff. Their communication and flexibility in the run-up to the day made a huge difference, especially when coordinating with various suppliers and managing a few last-minute changes. On the day, they went above and beyond, they were present, helpful, and even brought in a few items from home at the last moment to make sure everything was just right. We felt genuinely supported the whole way through. And the food… wow. Our guests are still talking about it, many said it was the best wedding food they’d ever had. We had a hybrid of an American BBQ and a Ploughman’s menu, which was beyond anything we could have imagined. Every course, from the canapés to the desserts, looked beautiful in the way it was presented and tasted even better. We were blown away. I honestly couldn’t fault a single thing on the day. It was a dream day, and the venue and its staff played such a huge part in making it so memorable.
