Wedding Celebrants in North Yorkshire

We got married at rather short notice compared to most couples. We were in truth a little lost about where to start. We were able to get an appointment with the registry office for only us and 2 witnesses, so wanted to arrange the full ceremony with a celebrant that same week. Ruth came to our rescue!! Even though we only had 6 weeks she was able to talk us through the process, helped us with the vows we wrote for each other and delivered a ceremony that was joyful and heartfelt. We even managed to get our parents and Grandparents involved with the Hand fasting ceremony that we included. It was truly a day that we will never forget and feel so happy that we found Ruth to work with us. A massive Thank you once again.

I want to start off by thanking dawn for everything she did for us on the day, on the days before and on the months before our big day. None of it would’ve been possible with anyone else. From our first meeting Dawn learned about the two of us in such a natural conversational way that you wouldn’t even know she was anything other than a friend. When beginning to discuss the actual ceremony dawns suggestions we’re genuinely personal to us as if she had known us for years and knew what we would like. And these are not just your generic off the list of things you can add into a wedding ceremony but rather quirky things that are just us two to a tee, things we’d never even thought of. In the weeks running up Dawn assisted in our vow writing and even provided reading cards printed in such a way where pausing when reading off the card felt and sounded natural and this is a small detail that made such a difference. She helped wrangle our rowdy guests and delivered one of the most heartfelt, funny, sincere ceremonies I’ve ever had the privilege to be a part of. Drawing laughs and tears from our guests (and myself) with ease. Dawn orchestrated and delivered the best day of my life and I feel closer than ever to my now wife and I honestly feel a lot of that was because of how perfect the day went. If you’re reading this review you’re obviously considering Dawn and I cannot stress enough how much better your day will be for doing so.

The whole experience working with Suzanne was a pleasure from start to finish. She captured everything that we wanted to say beautifully and delivered it perfectly during the service. It was lovely spending time with Suzanne in our home, she is so easy to talk to and be with and we were amazed at how quickly and (seemingly) effortlessly she prepared content for us. She made our event stress-free and I would not hesitate to recommend Suzanne. Thank you Suzanne ☺️ xxx

Richard was brilliant. From our initial call, he immediately put us at ease, carefully listened to everything we shared, and then created an exceptional, unique ceremony that felt truly personal and exceeded our expectations. All of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the ceremony and how perfect Richard’s words and chosen poems were. Richard also took the time to review our vows, and he printed the vows, certificate, and ceremony for us as keepsake copies. We could not recommend him more highly – we are so happy we chose him to create such a special day for us.

Binny conducted our wedding celebration and she was so good. We were rather late in providing information Binny had asked for well in advance. Binny worked with us on a tight timescale and put together a wonderful ceremony script and conducted a beautiful service for us. Binny is so professional, warm and wonderful in how she works with you and how she delivers the service. Binny offers a great value for money experience and we cannot recommend her enough. 10/10. ❤️

We couldn’t recommend Ewan more. He had come recommended to us by another celebrant, and we are so grateful that our paths crossed as it really was the most special ceremony and everything we dreamt of. We knew from the moment we got engaged that we didn’t want a traditional (or religious) ceremony, and that we really wanted a ceremony that reflected who we were, our values, and one that brought some joy to the day… and Ewan answered the brief perfectly! Leading up to the wedding we spent a few laughter filled evenings in the local pub together, where he asked us about our backgrounds, our story, our families, our interests and he crafted all of these conversations into a ceremony filled with lovely stories, lots of laughter and some really beautiful personal moments that we wanted to share with our loved ones. Our families didn’t understand why we weren’t having a ‘traditional’ ceremony, and they didn’t really know what a humanist ceremony entailed but after the ceremony they really got it, with guests commenting on how lovely (and refreshing) it was to experience a ceremony so personalised to us as individuals and our lives together. Many said it was the best ceremony they have ever experienced. I couldn’t recommend Ewan more, he really is the best in the business and we often talk to this day about how much we loved working with him. Thank you for everything Ewan!

What can i say about Judith... Absolutely brilliant! Judith went above & beyond for myself & my husband throughout. We checked in regularly with face time, messages & calls to regularly update plans and ideas. Judith made our wedding ceremony very personal to us, Judith made a special place and mention for my mum who is sadly not with us anymore but she certainly was that day! Judith was caring throughout she could not do enough for us. Judith is very compassionate about the service that she provides. Her heart & soul is definatly in 100% we have a friend for life in Judith. She helped keep my husband calm on our special day and helped to co-ordinate everyone from our sons to our guest. The sand jar for bringing our blended family all together on our day was just the perfect addition that we never even knew could be possible. Judith did not let us worry about a single thing including our vows, she supported us through writing these and they were just a dream. Judith you are an absolute angel. Thankyou for everything from the bottom of our hearts :) xx

Simon was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. He took the time to really understand how we wanted our ceremony to feel, relaxed, personal, and traditional without being too soppy, and he got it spot on. He was incredibly organised and easy to work with, keeping in regular contact and sending updated drafts quickly whenever we made changes. He listened carefully, was always flexible, and made the whole process feel calm and enjoyable. The Couples Questionnaire was a lovely part of the experience and really helped us reflect on our journey together, which Simon then captured perfectly in the ceremony script. The ceremony flowed beautifully, and the sand pouring ceremony was a real highlight. Simon even helped us with choosing the sand and vessels. We received so many compliments from our guests about how personal and different the ceremony felt compared to a typical registrar wedding. We couldn’t have been happier and would highly recommend Simon to any couple looking for a truly personal ceremony.

Our son and daughter in law worked with Rachel for their wedding in May and it was such a beautiful ceremony. Rachel obviously had taken the time to get to know them both and their ‘story’. The ceremony was very personal to the couple and really made their day so special. Thank you Rachel.
