From the start David was able to cater to our needs as an interracial couple, and had plenty experience in his field such that any request from us was not new ground. David has a very relaxing and peaceful vibe but is also very structured which worked well throughout the process of writing vows and doing all the logistics.

On the day itself, David was brilliant. I didn’t have to worry about the small details as he had it all covered. You can really trust David to deliver on his promises. The best aspect of David’s services was how he was able to really cater to our needs, revising the script even for the smallest details. I always thought that the ceremony was the boring part of a wedding, but not at ours! David made it so interesting and personal to us. We had a meeting with him far in advance and so he knew all about how we met, and incorporated it into a really unique ceremony. He mentioned all the important dates and people, and kept it funny and engaging without taking away from the importance and of the marriage. It was really important to us that the ceremony didn't put people to sleep but also didn't feel informal or silly, and David struck the ideal balance. It was definitely everyone's favourite part of the day, and all our guests mentioned how they loved it. If we could go back and redo our wedding we wouldn't change the ceremony one bit, it was perfect to the letter.

Well where to start. David if amazing and professional at what he does from day one till the day itself, he managed to create everything around myself and my wife from how we met to favourite drinks and everything I cannot thank him enough

Like many people we had absolutely no idea what we were doing when we were planning our wedding, looking for a celebrant we completely felt like we were supposed to know everything about the whole thing.. thankfully David came along! We stumbled across his profile on Hitched and sent a message, easily arranged a quick intro meeting (thankfully we're also in Sheffield so it was as simple as him popping round for a chat but I've no doubt it would have been just as straightforward via zoom or the phone)
As soon as we met him we knew we were in safe hands, he made us feel that he'd done many marriages before but each one was special and this really helped us feel relaxed. We enjoyed chatting to him as much about our ideas for owls and readings as we did about his dogs and the Sheffield area, so it didn't take long to decided ( we both knew we wanted David as soon as we met him!)
Everything leading up to the ceremony was sorted, David knows his stuff and also knows that life gets in the way sometimes and writing vows, thinking of the perfect songs and everything else that goes into planning such a big day is so mind-boggling that his calm and professional nature was a godsend.
The day came and all our guests loved his demeanour and he really set the tone for such a wonderful day, nothing was too much for him. A couple of our guests have since said it was the best wedding they've ever been to and for that we must thank David for kicking it all off in right way!

David was a lovely celebrant. We had a couple of zoom calls to sort details as we lived in a different part of the country- David had lots of lovely ideas and was open to our thoughts. We were able to order our handfasting materials to him, so he could have a practise and it was something we didn't have to remember on the day! We were able to read through his script and make amendments as we wanted, and he helped us to write our own vows. We had a small wedding with just 13 of us, and David was very relaxed and humorous about our toddler trying to upstage him! There were so many thoughtful touches- he really made it a wonderful experience!

We were travelling in from the US to get married so relied on David for for the ceremony to run smoothly but also for him to guide us through the process which he did just perfectly. We had a few calls so that he could find out more about us and our story, he then put together a really lovely service that felt personal to us and what we wanted. Along the way he'd given us options and allowed us to choose the direction but also offered his advice given previous services. He never pressured us or chose for us, but his advice was really important as neither of us had a clue! On the day he was he friendly self & chatted to our friends & family whilst also liasing really well with the venue staff/photographers etc. We can't say anyhting but great things about David & our experience!

We were fortunate to work with David Wills as the celebrant for our wedding in Oxford. My husband and I live in Australia but have strong connections to the UK so chose to work with David as we planned our wedding from overseas. David worked through the preparation with us. He was a patient guide to various options in terms of how we might conduct and tailor our ceremony. We were able to integrate our daughter into the ceremony at David’s suggestion - this was very important to us. On the day David was a wonderful celebrant, the ceremony was beautifully conducted and David calmly guided us throughout. We would highly recommend David, he made our special day truly special!

Our wedding was absolutely magical thanks to David! We are so glad we booked him, it was such a special ceremony and tailored specifically for us. We chose the traditional ring exchange, a handfasting and a final blessing. It was 30min long.

We wanted to include some specific bits, for example we used something that belonged to my late grandmother for the handfasting and he told our guests our love story. Also, my husband has a little girl and we wanted to make her part of it, so David gave her a lovely role in the ceremony which we adored.

What I particularly loved about our ceremony is how much more special and personal it was than other ceremonies. David interpreted what we wanted perfectly, he captured our style and he understood what we wanted to share with our guests. Our guests loved it and at no point did the ceremony drag or feel like it was too long. It felt exactly what the union of two people in love should feel like, that’s the only way I can describe it.

Communication was excellent from start to finish, David guided us through the design of our ceremony and suggested poems, readings and music. We never felt like we were alone, at any point we could ask him anything and he’d answer promptly, he was always helpful.

David was the most wonderful celebrant to lead our wedding ceremony in July. When we first met David online, we instantly felt at ease and he quickly understood our values, outlook and plans for the ceremony. We had a few clear ideas of what we wanted for the ceremony and he worked with us using his extensive experience to create a ceremony that was so meaningful, personal and memorable for us and our guests.
On the day David was proactive in engaging with who he needed to brief in terms of readers, musicians and our page boy which was really helpful on taking some pressure off the groom (who was having a last minute button hole dilemma!).
Overall we couldn't have asked for anything more from David and we we highly recommend him to anyone looking for a celebrant.

We booked David as we wanted an outdoor ceremony and our venue suggested that it is really unpredictable whether a registrar would be willing to do the ceremony outside if the weather is not perfect. David listened to us and understood what we wanted for our ceremony. The wedding was planned for July and we expected a sun-filled day, however the Summer of 2023 had different ideas. After a bit of drizzle in the morning we collectively made the decision to have it outside, with a bit of break in the rain for the ceremony we had the most perfect outdoor ceremony. He provided perfect support when we were in the planning stage of the ceremony, we finally decided (after a lot of back and fourth and thinking) that we would read poems to each other, this was a great decision.

Wedding guests (who most of them had only been in traditional church wedding services before) said about how much more bespoke and special our ceremony was, and that it was really just all about us. The ceremony was filled with both laughs and tears.

David was really professional and knew exactly what to do in every eventuality, we really trusted him. He stepped to the side when we were reading our vows to each-other and the first kiss - making for beautiful photos.

We would recommend David to anyone and everyone, we are really grateful for all of Davids time and dedication to making the ceremony perfect. We would say, put your trust in David and he will not let you down. Also, if you are wanting an outdoor ceremony I would definitely recommend David to take away the stress of the decision being made for you not with you.

David was fantastic! We cannot recommend him enough! From our initial conversations we knew that he was going to be great and he kept on delivering, going above and beyond to make our day perfect. David brought so much more to our wedding ceremony than we could have hoped. Having learnt about us during our first conversations he spent hours researching Nepalese wedding rituals that we could incorporate into our ceremony to honour my wife’s Nepalese heritage. It was way more than we expected and it was perfectly delivered.
