Unusual Wedding Venue
After the wedding ceremony a 2 hour champagne and canapé reception was held onboard Alaska, a beautiful boat hired from Thames Steamers. Alaska was built in 1883 and is the oldest working passenger steamer. It is also part of the Historic Fleet along side some of the greatest crafts such as the HMS Victory and the Cutty Sark.
After a couple of glasses of champagne the newlyweds invited their 43 guests to an afternoon wedding breakfast and reception at the Red Lion Hotel in Henley on Thames. The hotel is beautiful and sits on a bridge overlooking the River Thames. Polly and Neil chose this venue because of its location and décor which they were then able to entwine their own ivory and gold colour scheme.
