Lucy toyed with the idea of baking her own wedding cake – but after a few disastrous attempts, the couple decided to purchase 4 tiers of white iced wedding cake from M&S and decorated it themselves with purple and white iced flowers, made by a cutter they bought in Hobbycraft. Between the top two and bottom two layers was a fishbowl with two fantail goldfish inside. One was black and one was white and the couple ran a ‘name the fish’ competition throughout their evening reception.
Paul Mundy from Disco Xpress entertained the evening guests and asked the couple before the wedding for their top 10 favourite tunes and their 10 most hated songs, so that he could gage what type of music to play throughout the evening. Their first dance as Mr & Mrs was to Lego House by Ed Sheeran.
The Monday after the wedding the newlywed couple set off on their African Adventure honeymoon to Zanzibar and Tanzania. They wanted their honeymoon to be different to a normal beach holiday so chose to have the first part of their honeymoon relaxing in a luxurious hotel – followed by an exciting safari experience.
