We are Mark The Occasion Hire, a small team run by husband and wife, Mark & Katie, based in Matlock and offering Wedding Decor and 4ft LED Letter hire in Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and now covering Leicestershire and Staffordshire too.
Our business is built on what our lovely couples want and need, after we were married ourselves (October 2023) we wanted to make the planning and decorations as stress free as possible, we made our first Rustic LOVE set, and the rest is history.
We cover Matlock, Chesterfield, Bakewell, Buxton, Mansfield, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, the Peak District and all surrounding areas.
We offer premade packages & bespoke packages for almost all things wedding decor to help elevate your special day to be as memorable as it deserves. Most of our letters and rustic items are handcrafted by ourselves, so they are truly unique!
We offer standalone wedding focal points, from 4ft LED Letters, 11ft Blossom Trees, Flower and Rustic Arches and Flowerwalls to Aisle and Centre Piece Decorations to Full Wedding Dressing Packages. We specialise in the 50-150 range but can cater to more depending on your needs.
We are 100% happy couple focused. No upselling, no trying to push you into packages you don't want or need, we want super happy couples, that leave amazing feedback and tell everyone we are brilliant so we get more work to follow, we only get that by striving to deliver on what we promise and overdelivering on value!

Mr & Mrs Bower Wedding May 2025
Mark & Family were brilliant for our wedding in May 2025, I hired the rustic LOVE sign & fully stocked rustic sweet cart & both went down an absolute treat! So many comments were made & we loved the little touches- we asked for blue and white stripped bags & they happily arranged it for us! We also had fabulous communication throughout & I would highly recommend 5*****

Hiring of Mr & Mrs sign
My husband and I met Mark and Katie back in 2024 at a wedding fayre. We wanted the large Mr & Mrs sign for our wedding, because why not??
The process of hiring this sign was so smooth, and it looked amazing at our venue. Our guests loved it too. We had nothing to worry about in terms of placement, how it’s getting there, timings etc, it was organised so well and it was perfect. Mark and Katie are your people for hiring, not only did they have this, they have all sorts of stuff to hire too, beautiful things!! Not to mention, they are the most loviest people I’ve ever met. There is no stress is anything. Thank you Mark and Katie for allowing is to hire this sign. You guys are the best!

Fantastic team, great communication, highly recommend
I fell in love with the beautiful handcrafted LED lights unfortunately after I had booked ours. I had a look at their profile and saw a picture of MTOHs flower wall and knew it would fit in perfectly at our wedding! The team were really informative about new items they were making and the Alice wall was our colours!
I then enquired about a selfie frame and an audio guestbook, no question was too much trouble for them.
Mark & Katie are a fantastic team! The Alice flower wall, selfie frame and audio guestbook were all gorgeous and went down a storm! The communication has been incredible too, always answer swiftly! The team arrived when they said they would, packed down when they said they would and were super helpful. I would absolutely recommend them 💐

Beautiful decoration
We had the pleasure of working with Mark from Occasion Hire for our wedding decorations, and we can honestly say he exceeded all our expectations. Mark is an incredibly talented decorator and a true professional. From the moment we discussed our ideas, he listened carefully and brought our vision to life with such creativity and attention to detail.
On the day of the wedding, the decorations were absolutely breathtaking. Every element was perfectly placed, beautifully coordinated, and truly transformed the venue into a magical setting. Definitely recommend!
We hired the rustic Mr & Mrs Letters for our wedding reception, and wow they looked absolutely stunning! 🤩 We enquired with fairly short notice and the communication was fantastic, very speedy responses and Mark & Katie spoke with our venue themselves to arrange set up & collection making the whole thing completely seamless and stress free for us. They were in and out like a flash and made it as simple as possible for us. The lights really finished off the function room, they truly looked amazing, the craftsmanship in these handmade letters is truly outstanding!

Mark and Katie were our wedding decor Superheroes!
We dropped them a message pretty close to our wedding asking if they could help us with some last minute decor. They couldn't have been more helpful. They replied to messages quickly and went above and beyond to make sure our wishes were met.
They set up and packed up super efficiently. They kept in touch and let us know every step of the process.
Customer satisfaction is the most important thing to them. Nothing is too much trouble. Both Mark and Katie are extremely friendly and will go the extra mile for any bride and groom as they truly understand the importance of your day.
