Fantastic - helpful and caring!
Nicola and the team were fantastic. We'd heard stories of venues that throw up hidden costs and extras, but this wasn't the case with Makeney. Everthything was as advertised and better. Nicola and team were great, their experience showed and everything ran really smoothly on the day. We had lots of bits and flowers for family to set up and they were very accommodating helping us store and set up bits the night before. The venue itself is beautiful and the perfect combination of what we were looking for: woodland (but under cover), hotel (so no traveling back on the night), edge of the peak district, intimate venue with lots of quite spots for guest to step away when needed. Just perfect and without breaking our budget! (We went for midweek - Thurs)

Very friendly and helpful staff, couldn't do enough for us. Helped us from start to finish and even with the decorating. Staff was always there when needed and professional.

Our Amazing Wedding at Makeney Hall
We had the most unforgettable Wedding day at Makeney Hall. Nothing was too much trouble for Nicola and her team who worked so hard from the moment we booked our wedding to the actual day itself. I would definitely recommend Makeney Hall to anyone looking for a wonderful wedding day A+

A brilliant venue for the best wedding day
We did the all inclusive package at Makeney, and are so happy we did. Having everything included in 1 price, including all 46 rooms, made planning so much easier, and the service provided on and up to the day was amazing.
The staff more or less went completely unnoticed by me during the day, which is a good thing and shows what pros they are all at making the day run seamlessly and effortlessly for us, and were so discreet and kind if they did have a question for me. The conservatory & woodland area are beautiful for the wedding breakfast and ceremony. And the food was absolutely delicious, we had so many compliments. A massive thank you to the whole team for being part of the best day of our lives. A big shout out to Nicola, Jade & Eliott, and the staff for the excellent service. We would recommend Makeney in a heartbeat to anyone.

Phil and Amelia’s Wedding
We got married at Makeney Hall on 05.06.2025. I would definitely recommend Makeney Hall as a venue. They were accommodating, great location and had a back up plan Incase things went wrong like the rain!
We got married outside in the woodland garden and they were lovely to check to see if we still wanted that plan since it was raining the morning of! We had the option of umbrellas or to get married inside.
The wedding co-ordinator was a lot more helpful closer to the wedding! Especially about little details since I am a little OCD about things and did answer most questions I had throughout the 2 years of planning our wedding!

The Most amazing wedding day
Nicola and the team at Makeney Hall couldn’t have worked any harder for our day to be as perfect as it was.. Nicola as our co-ordinated was so organised from start to finish .. from the months and weeks before to the actual day .. we didn’t have to worry about anything .. venue was perfect .. everyone said what a beautiful place to have a wedding .. the weather definitely helped as everyone could be in the gardens .. the out side ceremony area looked amazing.. the food for the breakfast was delicious and easily accommodated 40 people with ease.. The evening again was just perfect we opted for the BBQ for 120 people and so many guest remarked it was the best BBQ they have had .. I highly recommend Makeney Hall as the place to make you feel magical.

I don’t even know where to begin with how incredibly amazing Nicola and her team are at Makeney Hall!
We booked our wedding with just 10 weeks’ notice, and Nicola turned it into our dream day. Everything was absolutely perfect, and we never had to chase or ask for anything throughout the day. Her calming and reassuring presence made me feel completely at ease.
The outdoor area for our ceremony was an absolute dream and made the day even more magical. It created the most beautiful setting, and we couldn’t have wished for anything better.
Given how last-minute our wedding was, we were worried we might miss important details—but the day was seamless. Nicola allowed us to be creative while guiding us through food and drink options, ensuring everything was perfect for our guests, including those with dietary requirements.
If you’re looking for a stunning venue with an incredible team who truly care, I can’t recommend Makeney Hall enough! Thank you for making our day so special.

Our Halloween wedding 2024
Makeney hall went above and beyond making our wedding day amazing, from when we booked it till the wedding day nothing was too much trouble for them, couldn’t fault our wedding day every was perfect the staff was really hands on nothing was too much for them, all our quest commented on how beautiful. Clean and professional the place and staff was, the food was absolutely delicious even accommodating for quest with allergies,

Most Amazing and Attentive!
Makeney Hall was our last of eight venues we looked at. Right as we got there we just had that feeling that this was exactly what we were searching for! We wanted a mix of charm and history, outdoors and indoors, and a place that could hold lots of people either at the venue or at least nearby. Makeney Hall just had everything and it blended so well together, we were in love! Nicola was our wedding coordinator and she was the absolute best. I’ve not had experience with other wedding coordinators but all I can say is she answered all 200+ of our questions with clarity and thoroughness. We were in such safe hands! She held our hands through the decision making and helped us figure out the right path for us. She was exactly what we needed and we couldn’t be more thankful. The day of the wedding was happiest, stunning, favorite day ever! I didn’t have to think of a thing, cause Nicola or our suppliers had figured it all out for us. We just listened to them and they helped direct our day as we imagined. They set up our wedding meal room and it was so perfect, I was in love haha. Our friends and family haven’t stopped saying how special that day was and just how unforgettable it was. We love how professional and attentive Makeney Hall was in helping and preparing and leading the whole day. Totally worth it!!

A Beautiful Day
We had our wedding at Makeney Hall, the venue was beautiful, all of our guests said how stunning the outdoor ceremony area was and the grounds were beautiful. The bridal suite was spacious (room 20) with the most beautiful bathroom! However our biggest thank you must go to Jordanna as she worked so hard to ensure our wedding was exactly as we wanted. The communication was amazing, and she kept everything running perfectly on time. We didn't have to think about a single thing on the day other than enjoying ourselves as she kept everything ticking along perfectly. At our last meeting we requested different furniture in one of the rooms and this was done without question which we appreciated. Overall the team at makeney were brilliant and couldn't have done any more for us!

Magical day
Makeney was a beautiful venue and we couldn't have wished for more in our day. The staff all helped to make the day run smoothly, Jordana our coordinator was amazing calming me down with those last minute nerves.
