Bad wedding accommodation experience

- Heating wouldn't turn off during heatwave
- No hot water for bridesmaids' showers
- Three staff members walked in on my husband and me naked
- Alarm went off in bridal suite at 4am after wedding

The bridal party and our guests stayed here for our wedding the night before and the night of our wedding (some guests stayed three or more nights).
Where I was with my bridesmaids the night before, the heating would not turn off. This was unbearable as it was during a heatwave. Four times we called someone to come and fix it, they would say they had, and then it would still be on. So the night before my wedding I barely slept, boiling hot and sweating with the radiators on.
When my bridesmaids returned after the wedding, the radiators had been fixed but there was no hot water for them to be able to have showers after a very long and hot day.
My husband and I had the bridal suite the night of the wedding, and there were some nice touches with a slice of cake a petals on the bed, but we were woken up around 4am when the alarm on the radio went off.
I wrote to the hotel after the wedding to say how disappointed I was with the heating and hot water issue, and asked for a refund for that one room. As we had spent thousands on guest rooms for that weekend I didn't think it was an unreasonable ask, but they refused.
They offered us a free stay in the bridal suite with afternoon tea, which was lovely until three members of staff walked into our room while my husband and I were naked! There was a "shit" as they closed the door, but no acknowledgement or apology for the breach of privacy.
We got to use the pool this time, which was nice and we had it to ourselves. The fire alarm went off three times though and the lockers didn't work (no lockers in the ladies changing rooms at all).
Overall it is a lovely hotel for food and drinks, and some of the staff were lovely, especially Manpreet who was so attentive during our breakfast and afternoon tea. But I wouldn't recommend it for big occasions or special events as I just couldn't rely on a good experience. I was especially disappointed not to receive the refund for the room I spent the night before my wedding tossing and turning in because of the unbearable heat from broken radiators.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to make your big decisions easier.
