Weddings inside Hampton Court Palace
For those looking to celebrate within the historic Palace, the Great Hall, Cartoon Gallery and State Apartment offer spectacular settings steeped in royal history.
The Great Hall
The Great Hall is one of the most impressive wedding venues at Hampton Court Palace. Built during the reign of Henry VIII, it is England’s last remaining medieval great hall and one of the Palace’s most magnificent spaces.
With its vast proportions, richly decorated interior and remarkable hammer-beam ceiling, the Great Hall provides an extraordinary setting for a grand wedding celebration. It can accommodate up to 400 guests for a standing reception or 220 guests dining, with dancing taking place in the Undercroft.
A wedding in the Great Hall offers a rare opportunity to celebrate amid the architecture and atmosphere of a royal medieval court.
The State Apartments and Cartoon Gallery
For those looking to celebrate within the historic Palace, the Great Hall, Cartoon Gallery and King’s Guard Chamber offer spectacular settings steeped in royal history.
Each space has its own character and historic story, offering a memorable setting for a wedding celebration surrounded by centuries of royal history.
Weddings in the Garden Room and Little Banqueting House
Away from the grand interiors of the Palace, the Garden Room and Little Banqueting House offer distinctive settings for civil ceremonies, receptions and more intimate celebrations.
The Garden Room
The Garden Room provides an elegant setting for larger wedding ceremonies and receptions. It can accommodate up to 180 guests for a civil ceremony and reception, making it a versatile choice for couples planning a celebration with family and friends. Its private position within the historic Hampton Court gardens also offers opportunities to enjoy the Palace’s grounds, creating a beautiful setting for wedding photography.
Little Banqueting House
For a smaller celebration, the Little Banqueting House, set alongside the river, offers an intimate but grand setting. It can accommodate up to 50 guests for a civil ceremony, 80 guests for a standing reception and 50 guests for a seated lunch or dinner.
A wedding with a royal history
Hampton Court Palace has witnessed centuries of royal life, celebrations and important moments in history. A wedding here becomes part of that continuing story, with each setting offering its own connection to the Palace and its past.
Whether held beneath the magnificent ceiling of the Great Hall, among the historic interiors of the State Apartments, or in the Garden Room or Little Banqueting House, a wedding at Hampton Court Palace offers a setting unlike any other. These spectacular spaces can also be used in conjunction with each other.
