Unique and Unusual Wedding Venues in Cheshire

Wow, just wow. We got married at Styal Lodge last week and the day exceeded all our expectations(and we had high expectations already from reading all the reviews and seeing the awards and recognitions the venue and team had received). It was a magical day, that went perfectly, literally nothing went wrong. Bethan our wedding coordinator bossed everything, she went above and beyond the whole day. She was there behind the scenes helping with every little detail to ensure the day went perfectly. Whether that was helping dry the flowers or fixing my veil & train, to ensuring we had a kick of dutch courage before our speeches, absolute vibes. Our day would not have been so special if it wasn't for Bethan and all the extra care she put in to ensure the day went the best it could for us, it felt so personal, and it didn't go unnoticed. We knew as soon as we stepped into the venue for our viewing and met the Lodge team that our day was going to be in very safe hands, It is no surprise Bethan & Laura have received so much recognition alongside the venue. It is so clear they are passionate about what they do here. The staff as a whole, were amazing. Above and beyond for both ourselves and every single guest. Everyone was super friendly and full of enthusiasm throughout the whole day, going out their way in times when they didn't have to, not only to ensure us, the couple had a perfect day, but all our guests too. We haven't stopped receiving floods of praise from our guests complimenting Bethan and the lodge staff as a whole. We can easily say that was the best day of our lives, and we just keep saying, how thankful we are that we went with Styal Lodge, what a venue. From the bottom of our heart, thank you so much for giving us a day we will remember so fondly for the rest of our lives, and all our guests can say the same too. If you are thinking of booking this venue for your wedding or any event, do it, its perfect. I hope we end up at a wedding here again in the future, magical place.

We had our day on the 15th September, it was perfect. The events team were so helpful and the day went perfectly. I forgot to update them on the last min changes and they didn’t flinch and sorted it without hassle. The hotel is lovely and ideal for guest to stay. The food was lovely and plenty of it. We would certainly recommend the tytherington club as its a beautiful location and great value for money.

We chose the colony for our wedding because a contemporary venue free from the usual classical interior design was important to us. We wanted a modern backdrop to our wedding. The colony provided us with the perfect backdrop. Their list of suppliers made the venue unrecognisable by the time it was dressed and illuminated. The building its setting and the convenience of the location made it ideal. Our local and international guests were able to reach the venue easily. We chose from the modern canapes rather than the traditional sit down meal. The food and drink flowed and we felt thoroughly spoiled. The staff couldn't have done more to make us feel special and our guests welcome.

Having a ceremony with the stars projected above was out of this world, and going to pick out the projections and our music was a fantastic experience. The rest of the site is beautiful as well, with places for children to play and explore, and they had some time before the ceremony and during the drinks reception to do this. Jennifer and Syed were wonderful, and Jen's experience of working in the area made a big difference as she asked about many things we wouldn't have considered, and on the day ran smoothly. It was also a big plus that the venue was all accessible, including taking some guests round the site in golf buggies. We had been to this site many times before so it meant a lot to us, and we are so pleased we could have our wedding at this dream venue for an affordable price.

My husband and I chose Storyhouse as the venue for our recent wedding reception and we cannot recommend it highly enough! We were looking for an intimate, unusual and stylish venue for our afternoon reception following our wedding ceremony at Chester Town Hall. Storyhouse was utterly perfect! We are both book lovers, so having our reception in a building which is home to a library and culture aplenty suited us so wonderfully! We opted to hold our reception in the Garret Bar which is a gorgeous space situated at the top of the building, with a cool and stylish vibe and great views. We wanted a relaxed feel for us and our guests, and aren't fans of formal, sit-down approaches to traditional wedding breakfasts, so opted for an absolutely delicious warm buffet which our guests grazed on during the afternoon, while enjoying lots of time to chat, catch up and celebrate. The food was absolutely delicious and so many of our guests commented on how tasty everything was - the chilli potatoes were a particular highlight! The space and mix of seating / table options meant the room had a really relaxed feel and flow, and encouraged our guests to circulate and chat to everyone which we thought was fab - so much more convivial than being stuck on a table with the same people for the duration! Our photographers were so impressed by the wealth of photo opportunities that the building offered, and came to find us several times during the reception as they had spotted another location they wanted to try! We had lots of lovely candid shots during the reception itself, and then the two of us headed to other areas of the building for some fabulous pictures - the library space was ideal for this and has given us some wonderfully unique photos for our album! The team at Storyhouse are just fantastic. Alex and Emilia took care of our booking and logistics and made sure everything flowed perfectly - we cannot praise or thank them both enough. The team looking after us on the day were faultless - friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble. Planning a wedding can of course be really stressful, and organising other parts of our day did get quite hectic - our reception was not one of those elements! Everything was seamless and organised and we felt in such safe and professional hands knowing that everything was taken of by such a fabulous team. If you're looking for a cool, unusual venue for your wedding and / or reception, please consider this wonderful place - you will not be disappointed. Thank you, Storyhouse!
