We cannot recommend The Boat House at Aston Marina in Stone, Staffordshire highly enough. From the moment we chose them as our wedding venue, every detail was handled with the utmost care and professionalism, and they made our day truly unforgettable. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and every request we made was tailored perfectly to ensure our wedding was exactly how we imagined it.

A very special thank you must go to Lizzy, our Wedding Manager, who brought all our ideas and wishes to life. Whenever we had a request, she went above and beyond to make it happen, and her dedication meant we felt completely confident that our day would be everything we hoped for.

Ash, who supported us as our Wedding Co-ordinator and through catering, was another incredible part of our journey. From our food tasting event she gave us such a memorable experience that we specifically asked for her support on the big day. She tailored everything to our exact needs with great attention to detail, especially with allergy and dietary requirements. Ash is a real asset to The Boat House and her presence made us feel completely at ease, allowing us to relax and enjoy the day fully.

Alex, also in Wedding Co-ordination and catering, played a vital role from the day before right through to the wedding itself. He worked tirelessly to ensure our vision came to life, often offering professional insights that made our ideas even more elegant and unique. His contribution was invaluable.

Together, Ash and Alex were a fantastic team. Their approach on the day was the perfect balance of flexibility and structure, which ensured that not only we but all our guests had an enjoyable and memorable experience. We truly could not have done it without them, and every couple deserves such a supportive duo on their wedding day.

A huge thank you as well to all of the bar staff who worked so hard to keep our guests happy and hydrated throughout the day. Every drink was served with a smile, and the atmosphere was always welcoming. A special shout out to the barmaid who poured her very first Baby Guinness and absolutely smashed it! a little moment that added to the fun and memories of the day.

The venue itself was nothing short of perfect. Having exclusive use of the grounds meant that all of our guests could enjoy both the inside and outside areas freely, without any distractions or interruptions. The outdoor space was beautifully spacious and the addition of garden games brought such a fun and relaxed atmosphere. With two licensed areas for ceremonies, both indoors and outdoors, couples have the choice of setting that best suits them, which is a wonderful option.

In every way The Boat House delivered beyond our expectations. The venue, the team and the service combined to create the most special day of our lives. Everything we could have hoped for was here, and more. We would wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone looking for the perfect place to celebrate their wedding.

We recently had our wedding at The Boat House, and I cannot express how thrilled we were with the entire experience.

From the very beginning, staff were friendly, welcoming and informative. The communication was nothing short of excellent throughout the entire process. No question was ever too small, nor were there ever too many questions – they were all answered very thoroughly and promptly. Not only that, every email was met with professionalism and kindness. It truly felt like we were in good hands and it was so easy to build a rapport with the girls who work for The Boat House.

The venue itself is beautiful and well maintained. It’s very modern with lots of light, which is great because it didn’t feel like it needed a lot of dressing up. Lots of places for photos and for guests to enjoy the day. The dressing room has also recently been renovated which made the getting ready process so luxurious.

The food on the wedding day was even better than the day we did our menu tasting. We were impressed with the extensive selection of dishes available and the fact The Boat House catered to our preferences and guests dietary requirements so well. Each dish was presented so well and all the portions were generous.

Whilst all of the staff we dealt with at The Boat House were great, we would also like to give a special mention to Abby who was absolutely incredible with us. From helping us set up the day beforehand, to helping look after my young niece before going down the aisle – Abby’s efforts always went beyond expectation. Nothing was too much trouble and she ensured that everything on the day ran like clockwork – I literally didn’t have to worry about a single thing, which made the entire process and day so stress free. Abby is an absolute credit to The Boat House and we can’t thank her enough.

In summary, The Boat House provided an unforgettable experience for our special day. We genuinely couldn’t fault any part of the process and are incredibly grateful to every member of the team for making our day even better than we could have imagined.

When we first visited Aston Marina, we absolutely fell in love. We loved everything about it, it’s beautiful grounds, the brightness of the main room, the unique photo opportunities, but the main thing that makes Aston Marina so special is its amazing staff. We initially dealt with Becky, who was so lovely and welcoming. Every silly question was answered and all the staff were so responsive. We were welcomed to every open day by all the team! When Becky went on maternity leave, Lizzy took us over. Initially, I was so upset about losing Becky but Lizzy was equally as amazing! She guided us through the end of the process, and ensured every single detail was thought of. I particularly loved how Aston Marina listened to previous brides and in the two years we booked made many improvements to the venue, including redecorating the getting ready room to make it more practical, changing the chairs and introducing a curtain to divide the space. On the day, the presence of everyone was so calming. We were at the forefront of everyone’s minds, making sure we were happy, fed and watered! I’ve honestly never been to a wedding that ran so smoothly and that was all due to the staff there on the day. The food was amazing and came out at the same time so guests were not waiting whilst others were eating. The time between courses was perfect too and the food was absolutely gorgeous. The attention to detail was incredible, especially Abby choosing to play one of our special songs for the last song of the night - making us very emotional (she only knew about this due to listening to my partner’s speech on the day)! We will be eternally grateful to Aston Marina for the memories they created for us on the most special day of our lives.

Everyone we met from the team from Lizzy our events manager to the restaurant team who delivered our tasting menu to Ash on the day made our dream wedding a reality. They were fantastic to work with, super accommodating and very relaxed whilst being super professional which meant we had a completely stress free experience planning and on the day itself. We would 100% recommend them to any other couples looking to get married.

Right from our first communication with Aston Marina, the staff could not have been more helpful. When we initially booked our wedding date we were given all the information we needed and advised on timings of when everything would happen. We had a menu tasting event well ahead of our wedding which gave us plenty of time to decide on our options (all of which were delicious!). Any email queries we had were responded to quickly and professionally (and we had lots of questions!). Abby was an absolute star both in person and over email and we were never made to feel like anything we wanted was too much. On the wedding day, the staff made sure everything ran smoothly and communicated with our suppliers so we could enjoy our day. Ash kept us updated with timings throughout the day and was there when we needed him. So many of our guests commented how beautiful the venue was and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. Great bar, delicious food, helpful staff, an absolutely beautiful setting for a wedding, would 100% recommend this venue!

Alice and I had our wedding at Aston Marina on Sunday and it was the most perfect day from start to finish. After viewing a handful of venues, we went for the Boat House and we haven't regretted it at all!
From the initial booking of the wedding to the final moments, Lizzy and Abby and the rest of the team have been incredible. Nothing was too much trouble for them at all. They were many steps ahead at every point of the wedding journey, truly displaying the incredible expertise the team had, everything ran like clockwork.

The gorgeous waterside location makes for the perfect backdrop for photos and ceremony, we are so glad the weather was on our side and got to have our ceremony and canapés outside, it really was incredible. We have had so many comments about the day and the food in particular where we have been told it was the best food many have had at a wedding ever and we don't disagree at all - it was insane!

I don't feel like a review like this can do the team and venue justice. If you are struggling to decide between two venues - choose The Boat House, you will not regret it.

We had our wedding at Aston Marina on 26th May 2025. It was the second venue we had visited back in 2022 and knew it was the one we wanted and booked there and then!

The team were incredible throughout the whole process and always happy and available to help whenever you needed them - even though we had booked a few years in advance!

We had the pleasure of dealing with Lizzy for the majority of the run up to the wedding and she was so amazing, listening to my constant questions and me worrying about my youngest child walking down the aisle on the day!
Nothing was too much for her and the team on the day of the wedding and because of this day we had the most amazing day with our family and friends.

On a seperate note, the grounds are amazing for photos! We had such a lovely range of backgrounds with the lovely flowers and trees around the gardens!

We had our wedding at The Boathouse on 2nd November 2024. The team were fantastic from start to finish. Abby was our wedding coordinator and she was there throughout the process. Whenever we had any questions nothing was too much trouble and her replies were prompt and informative.
