We couldn’t have wished for a better venue to hold our wedding reception! From the staff to the views, Shire Views has it all. With the added bonus of being able to camp overnight, it made the night extra special! Beks and Lee were always on hand to make sure the lead up to the wedding was as stress free as possible for us. They ensured the day ran smoothly, sorting things out in the background- nothing was too much trouble. We highly recommend using Shire Views and wish we could do it all over again!

If you're looking for a venue that offers a bespoke, intimate wedding then this is the perfect location for your big day. For us the 2 most important factors in choosing our venue were intimacy (under 40 guests) and the quality of the food (The groom is a chef). When researching venues I found that many places felt like a wedding production line but this is not the case at ODL. The staff could not have been more welcoming or accommodating and made us feel completely at home. The 9 guest rooms are all beautiful and individually designed. The Bridal suite is gorgeous with a 4 poster bed and huge bathroom. The wedding breakfast was a 7 course menu designed by the head chef (Karl) and the groom, with home made pizzas for the evening (not forgetting the post wedding breakfast the next morning and the pre wedding breakfast provided for the bride and bridesmaid). We had a few guests with dietary requirements who all commented on how well the venue catered for their needs. The venue is beautiful inside and out giving lots of options for photographs whatever the weather, although the outside views are outstanding with beautiful countryside as far as you can see. There is nothing at all that we can fault about Old Downton Lodge, I cannot thank them enough for making our day perfect.
