As one of the largest regions in Scotland, Aberdeenshire has its fair share of amazing wedding venues. We've compiled the best of the bunch that you'll definitely want to explore...

From the quaint harbour town of Stonehaven in the south to the tumbling waters of the River Dee, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to backdrops for your special day. 

If you're a foodie couple then you're in for a treat - your wedding menus promise to be truly mouthwatering as Aberdeenshire serves up some of the finest ingredients that Scotland has to offer. We're talking award-winning whiskey and locally-caught seafood.

1. Logie Country House

You won't be stuck for entertainment options if you get hitched at Logie Country House.

The entire house and estate can be yours exclusively for two or three days, during which you can enjoy two huge entertainment rooms, an indoor infinity pool, cinema, hot tubs, a private island and more!

Boasting 17 luxury bedrooms with four poster beds, the house can sleep 50 people for a whole weekend of celebrations.

If you're planning an intimate wedding, the opulent dining and drawing rooms are fabulous, or larger weddings of up to 160 day guests can take place in the ballroom and bar overlooking the River Urie.

2. Cluny Castle

Castle wedding venues are majestic, dramatic and never fail to impress. If you're looking for one in Aberdeenshire, Cluny Castle is definitely a location to have on your radar.

Dating back to the 14th century, the stunning castle has magnificent architecture and is surrounded by over 200 acres of landscaped grounds, making for a tranquil and enchanting setting. You can set up an outside marquee for your reception and you'll have the castle as a romantic backdrop.

But it's not just the outside that's worth talking about, Cluny Castle has its very own chapel with beautiful stained glass and dark oak pews that can seat up to 100 guests for your fairy tale wedding.

3. Drumtochty Castle

Drumtochty Castle is another wedding venue that'll be a magical setting for your special day.

The spectacular 19th century Scottish castle is bursting with beautiful backdrops, from the wild woodland glen it's situated in to the regal ballroom with ornate décor. We think a photograph snapped over the bridge like this couple is a great idea!

If you're planning a religious ceremony, St Palladius Church is located just a short carriage ride away where you can say your vows before heading back to the castle for an evening of festivities.

4. Raemoir House

Located just 25 minutes from Aberdeen lies Raemoir House, a gorgeous Georgian property set on 14 acres of secluded parkland.

As you and your guests make your way down the tree-lined driveway you'll be seriously impressed with this countryside retreat before you've even stepped foot inside.

Choose to marry in the wood-panelled Sitting Room or the whimsical Woodland Cathedral before enjoying a meal in the lavish Garden Room.

What's more, from April to December a marquee can be set up to accommodate up to 360 guests if you want an even larger celebration.

5. Banchory Lodge

Our favourite room is their function room - airy, light-flooded and with views across the River Dee, it'll bring the outdoors in which is perfect for unpredictable weather.

6. Norwood Hall Hotel

Norwood Hall Hotel is a wedding venue steeped in history and character, having been built on the site of Pitfodels Castle after it was abandoned in the 17th century.

The hotel can host weddings of up to 200 people and is grand and majestic, featuring sweeping staircases, ornate fireplaces and rich wood panelling.

There's plenty of room for your guests to stay overnight as this venue has 73 deluxe bedrooms for accommodation.
