Thorverton Memorial Hall is a perfect venue for your countryside wedding, set in the picturesque village of Thorverton in Exeter, Devon. Thorverton is a thriving village set in the Exe Valley between Exeter and Tiverton with easy access from Exeter, Tiverton and Crediton. The hall boasts a wonderful modern space, and we offer flexibility and room to really make your wedding your own. Its large windows overlook the surrounding fields and allow you to step outside onto the terrace and large grassed grounds, which are suitable for a marquee should you wish for this to be part of your day. You will find rolling hills, streams and beautiful backdrops for your wedding photographs.

Facilities and Capacity

Thorverton Memorial Hall is steeped in local history, and its location in the beautiful village sets it apart from other venues. The village boasts two local pubs and a farm shop. Inside, there is a large central hall which can be divided into two sections by curtains, if desired. The hall has a stage, which is a perfect way to showcase your wedding band or DJ, and a bar and a kitchen on site. Comfortable capacity can seat up to 110 guests. We can provide rectangular tables, which can be placed around the room as you like - individually or as long trestle tables to provide a banquet feel to your event. The hall comes to life with your decorative touches, and you are free to decorate it as you wish. Outdoors, you can enjoy a terraced area, lit with string bulb lights to provide a magical feel as the evening draws in, as well as a large green space surrounded by a small river and rolling hills of Devon, set amongst a backdrop of beautiful feature houses in the village. You can set up a marquee on the grounds for your occasion, should you want a covered outdoor space. Additionally, there is space for 30 cars.

Services Offered

We provide an exclusive two-day rental package, from noon on Friday to noon on Sunday, which includes on-site parking, tables and seating. The cost for the full hire in this way is £850. You are welcome to bring along your own caterers to serve food throughout the day, and we have an excellent catering kitchen. The venue also includes a licensed, stocked bar with service.
