More About Tipi And Yurt Wedding Venues In Devon

Considering a tipi or yurt wedding venue? Here are some questions couples frequently ask.

Why Choose A Tipi Or Yurt Wedding Venue?

Tipis and yurts offer an ideal way to enjoy a wedding in the great outdoors. With their boho, rustic feel, they help create a chilled-out atmosphere on your special day. You can add to this with a fire pit, food trucks, string lights, and bunting for the perfect festival-themed wedding.

How Do I Plan A Tipi Or Yurt Wedding?

Firstly, choose your location wisely. If you're marrying at a venue that allows tipis, make sure they have enough space to set one up, and that the ground is flat enough. Bear in mind that you may need to rent multiple tipis or yurts to accommodate all of your guests. If you're renting an outdoor space like a field, make sure to hire all the facilities you'll need, like portaloos, generators, etc. As tipis and yurts are a blank canvas, you'll need to plan your décor well - make sure you have a coherent theme before filling it with decorations. Decorate the outside space (hanging lights on trees, putting blankets or beanbags on the ground, etc.) as well as the interior of the tipi or yurt. Finally, keep your guests well-informed before the event by advising them on parking, nearby accommodation, suitable clothing, etc.

Why Get Married In Devon?

Known for its dramatic cliffs, amazing beaches, and pretty seaside towns, this scenic southwestern county is a very popular wedding destination. From the bustling towns of Plymouth and Exeter to the rugged beauty of Dartmoor, it boasts a range of great settings for exchanging vows.

We had the most amazing time at Deer Farm Tipi Weddings. It was the perfect setting to celebrate our wedding with all out friends and family, not only for the day but for the whole weekend with the on site accomodation (which is also fantastic). The tent set up is perfect for anyone looking for an outdoor wedding all our guests commented on the amazing back drop. Maggie and all the staff were fantastic all weekend and throughout the planning process. We had complete control over the organisation meaning we could create a unique and personal day. Maggie supported us through the process with regualar emails and calls. I would highly recommend everyone to consider Deer Farm Tipi Weddings, you'll be sold as soon as you see the site and certainly wont regret it.

In September we had our wedding at Harta Retreat, and despite experiencing some of the worst weather imaginable, it was still the most incredible day of our lives. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. Set in beautiful surroundings, Harta Retreat has a unique charm and atmosphere that made our wedding feel truly special. Every part of the retreat is thoughtfully designed, creating a relaxed, welcoming, and magical setting for both us and our guests. The owners, Miranda and Aaron, were fantastic throughout the whole process. From the moment we met them, they went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Their, kindness, and genuine care shone through at every stage. Even when the weather threatened to derail our plans, they remained calm, supportive, and incredibly helpful, ensuring our day was still everything we had hoped for. The torrential rain may not have been part of our dream wedding vision, but thanks to Miranda, Aaron, and the beautiful surroundings of Harta Retreat, our memories are filled with joy rather than disappointment. In many ways, the weather simply highlighted how special the venue and its team really are. We cannot thank Miranda and Aaron enough for helping create such an unforgettable celebration. If you're looking for a wedding venue that combines a magical setting and exceptional hosts, we would wholeheartedly recommend Harta Retreat.
