If you want to take a step outside of Oldham into the lush countryside, you’ll be sure to find even more incredible wedding venue options. From hotels and inns to beautiful halls and homes, there is a variety of options for weddings of any size.

Size Matters

Many of the wedding venues in and around Oldham stand out in their large capacities. Although some couples are now gearing towards smaller weddings, including the new trend of micro weddings, and even elopements, many to-be-weds are keen to throw a celebration with the masses. In this locale specifically, you’ll find spaces that enable you to welcome up to 400 guests to join in the big day. Weddings of any size require an immense amount of prepping and planning, but there are some extra considerations to make with a large event, so take these into account if that’s what you’re after!

Under Pressure

When it comes to the actual planning, you’ll need to take less of a one-size-fits-all approach. Your meal, for example- more people means more dietary needs. A 3-dish selection might cut it for a wedding with 100 guests, but 400 will often require a little more choice.

Don’t let the pressure get to you. At the end of the day, it’s your celebration, so don’t fall into the trap of trying to impress others. Some newlyweds look back on their extravaganzas and find that they spent too much time trying to keep up with the Jones’s and impress bosses, colleagues, and others who they still find themselves posturing in front of in day-to-day life. Remember, once you’re enjoying it, there’s a very high chance that everyone else is too!

From the moment we stumbled across Stables Wedding Farm on Google, I knew we had to get married here! From enquiry to wedding day and beyond, Mark and Debs have been sensational. They have been with us through every step of planning, always eager to help. They have a beautiful 'something borrowed' catalogue which was great to look through and we used some of those things for our tables and to decorate around the venue. Mark and Debs make Stables Wedding Farm so personal to each couple, something that we didn't find when looking round other venues. The venue is nothing short of stunning, (we were lucky enough to have a sunny day but I know it would have been gorgeous in the rain as well!) and the farm animals make great guests! The bar is well priced and had a range of great cocktails. My husband wanted a local Leicester beer which they were also able to accommodate and have in a keg at the bar. A lovely touch was that the night before, Mark and Debs did a 'walk through' video of the venue as we'd set it up, meaning that we could see all of our efforts in a video before it was bustling with people. They were also super accommodating not only to us, but to guests regarding parking, getting a golf buggy up the hill (useful for disabled guests but also such a fun way to get up to the venue!), and to our band for getting set up before the ceilidh kicked off! We got the venue 48 hours before our wedding, which meant we could decorate in good time to avoid any pre-wedding stress. We stayed in the Hobbit houses with the hot tub the night after, and we didn't need to clean up until late the following day, which made the day after our wedding so much easier. If you are booking a wedding in the next few years - message Stables Wedding Farm ASAP (they are so good they're getting booked up!!) - you'll have the best day ever and you won't regret it!
