Beautiful and great value!
We considered many venues in Edinburgh before deciding on Napier University''s Craighouse campus and we weren''t disappointed.
We married at this venue in September 2005 and it was fabulous! The building and the surroundings are beautiful and all of our guests commented on how wonderful the venue was. A high point for us was the post-ceremony drinks on the balcony, looking over a sunny Edinburgh.
The venue was also great value - the hire of the three rooms, including the Great Hall, for the full day was less than ٟ,000, which is excellent compared to the amounts charged by similarly grand venues. We were also provided with excellent food and drink for 60+ day guests and an evening buffet for 80+ for a very very reasonable amount.
The whole day went very smoothly and the events team and in house caterers couldn''t have been more helpful. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone!

Good value for an outstanding venue with excellent food/service!
Having held our wedding ceremony in the breathtaking Grand Turmeau Hall (and subsequent reception in its adjacent Edinburgh Suite) in September 2005, we’re so pleased we chose this venue!
Weeks later, our guests are still commenting on both the impressive architecture and the lovely grounds – like a very regal stately mansion, with grand marble staircases, high ceilings, turrets, panoramic balcony views of Edinburgh Castle, etc.— and the gorgeous food. One normally hard-to-please elderly guest even said it had the air of a grandiose society wedding because of the setting, which is obviously delightful to hear!
Despite being able to cater for 100+ guests our wedding of 35 never felt insignificant, which was appreciated when compared to how inflexible other venues were when they realised they weren’t more guests (and higher revenue)! Most importantly, the wedding co-ordinator in particular (Moira Dunn) went out of her way to make our wedding special, telling us to call up to 10pm at night – but everything was so well managed we never had to! A surprising thing was that they seemed to understand what we needed i.e. suggesting Schlor instead of Appletizer for the teetotalers because it was half price when they asked suppliers! We never got the same (even initial) level of service from other venues, despite us being potential customers.
Finally, on wedding forums we’ve seen that our final invoice is a third of what other people have often paid just for ground hire! We even got a “talking to” by parents on the ills of getting into debt just to have “our dream venue”, so we got both sets of parents to guess our venue budget – they suggested figures in the thousands... and why spoil the image by letting them in on the secret that it cost a couple of hundred? :)
