Norton House Hotel & Spa: A Scottish country house wedding
Set within 55 acres of private grounds outside Edinburgh, Norton House is a 19th-century manor house approached through a stone gatehouse and along a tree-lined drive.
The Usher Suite, Garden Suite and smaller period rooms allow celebrations to take different forms, while the lawns provide space for civil, religious and humanist ceremonies outdoors. Evening receptions can welcome up to 200 guests.

Filled with a wonderful sense of occasion, the Usher Suite allows you to exchange vows beneath sparkling chandeliers before transforming for dining and dancing.
The Garden Suite
Capacity: Up to 130 guests for a civil ceremony
Best suits: Contemporary country house weddings
The feel: Bright, modern and connected to nature
Located within the walled garden, this self-contained venue enjoys its own grounds. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views across the grounds and fill the room with natural light, while modern décor provides a versatile backdrop for your chosen style.
Intimate Ceremony Rooms
Capacity: Up to 40 guests
Best suits: Smaller ceremonies and celebrations

The Drawing Room, Redwood Room, Linden Room and Verandah Suite each offer period features and views across the manicured grounds, making them well suited to celebrating with your closest family and friends.

An amazing venue with a great team
As we live down south, everything was done from afar, but we did take a trip up to Edinburgh 7 wks before the big day to do our menu tasting.
The venue is beautiful with lovely photogenic grounds.
From start to finish everyone at the Norton were outstanding. Their customer service is second to none. From the staff on reception, the bar staff, the events team, right through to the restaurant team.
On the actual wedding day Callum was our Operations Director. We cannot praise him highly enough!! He was truly amazing and i don't know what we would have done without him. He kept us on time, kept our guests in the right place. Instinctively knew when to pop up, just at the right time. He ran a tight but friendly ship to keep everything on track, and i personally I would have been lost without him.
When it came to the meal, our guests said that was the best wedding food they had ever had! It really was quality!! Everyone was literally full by the end of the meal, but nicely so.
As part of our package, our guest got a discount on their rooms, so nearly all our guests stayed at the hotel.
We are so glad we chose the Norton Hotel & Spa for our wedding. Everyone had a wonderful time and made good use of all the facilities.
Wedding Day
From start to finish the process was easy and flawless. We met Jen back in 2024 when we booked and we kept in contact with Jen all the way through the process. Any questions we had Jen would answer for us or find the answer. I genuinely could not of done the wedding planning without Jen, she was honestly a life saver and so helpful through it all.
Jill, on the day Jill looked after us all and she really did look after us! Everything went smoothly on the day and thats down to Jill and the help of the staff at Norton. Jill is incredible and we so lucky to have had her on our big day.
All the little touches along the way made our build up to the day so special. Little things such as when we went for menu tasting the next morning at breakfast the staff asked how menu tasting was and when is the big day etc. P.s the breakfast is honestly the best breakfast ever!
The food is incredible to point where all my guests had to tell us how amazing the food was!
Everything about norton is amazing and magical! The grounds for our wedding pictures are spectacular. The rooms, oh my the rooms are incredible. The staff are all amazing i genuinely dont have a bad word to say about anyone.
I honestly cant put into words how amazing it all is.
Also if you have a dog and would like him or her at wedding do it and do it here!! We had our dog all day with us at wedding and it was best decision, such a dog friendly hotel, all the staff loved him and complimented on how good he was which yes even I was amazed I thought he would of been upset at times but no. Everyone treated him as a guest too.
We cannot wait to return again, we will be back.
Honestly, the best day, our dream came true.

A perfect wedding venue
We had our big day at Norton House on 5th July 2025. Everything was absolutely perfect. From the organisation, to the staff, the food, and the operations over the weekend it was everything we ever dreamed of and more. Our Operations Manager on the day, Jillian, was fantastic and everything went exactly as planned, exactly as we wanted it. The guests raved about the staff, venue and food and our day was honestly perfect.
The venue was able to be flexible with what we wanted, we even made up our own meal for the wedding breakfast which wasn’t a problem. Our Coordinator, Laura, was friendly, helpful, professional and nothing was ever too much for her.
It’s the small things that make such a difference, from being given a highland cow to keep, to reserving a large area at breakfast for all our guests that stayed over on the Sunday, honestly it was incredible and we feel so lucky to have been able to have our big day at Norton House.
If you are considering booking this venue for your wedding, do it!! Because I promise you won’t regret it.

The best venue for the best day!
The whole experience was flawless. The food was outstanding (we’re still getting compliments from our guests!), and the attention to detail in every part of the day was spot on. The staff couldn’t have done more for us, and a special shout-out has to go to Jillian and Jen—nothing was too much trouble for them. Their calm, organised approach made the whole process feel so much easier and more personal.
We truly couldn’t have asked for a better venue or a better team. Norton House will always have a special place in our hearts.

A huge heartfelt thank you goes to the wonderful Jen, who guided us through every step of the planning process with such warmth and efficiency. Her prompt replies and calming presence made everything feel so easy and stress-free. We felt completely looked after from day one.
An equally massive thank you to David, the manager on our big day—his support and attention to detail were second to none. He made sure everything ran flawlessly, and honestly, the day wouldn’t have been the same without him.
The entire team on the day made us feel like absolute royalty. Every guest commented on how incredible the service was, and it just made the day even more special.
We cannot recommend Norton House Hotel highly enough to anyone looking to get married in Edinburgh—it was everything we dreamed of and more. We’d do it all over again in a heartbeat! We’re already looking forward to coming back to celebrate our anniversaries in the years to come.

Amazing from start to finish! 2025
We had the usher suite which was great if you had kids attending as they could run outside next to the swing which is gorgeous for photos!
The team go through your wedding day plan with you twice before wedding to make sure everything is ok which takes pressure off you on the day as they do everything for you. I expected to pay extra for the service we got!
Whole experience felt luxury but good for value for money especially in 2025 Definitely recommend visiting if looking for venues. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
The Perfect Weekend
The best day ever!!
Thankfully Jen was just finishing with another couple and had time before another meeting to show us around the hotel and grounds! Once leaving we had that giddy excitement of this is THE ONE!!
We booked not long after our first viewing and I have to say Jen was exceptional in communication from start to end! And the week of and on the day we had the lovely Wiki who made sure our day ran smoothly and was perfect from start to end!
We can’t thank the whole team at Norton house enough for an amazing day every tiny detail didn’t go unnoticed 🤍🤍🤍
