Myself and my Husband Tom got married at Milwards estate on 15/08/2024 and I would 100% recommend them, amazing venue and amazing staff, Clare and Maria were so relaxed which made me feel relaxed and just so helpful the whole way through planning and on the day, honestly amazing people! 💕

If you’re thinking about booking Pelham House for your wedding day, do it! It’s a huge decision but was by far one of the best ones we made for our wedding. It was the first venue we visited in summer 2023, and we found ourselves comparing the other venues we saw back to Pelham House in one way or another, so we went back to view it for a second time a few months later and booked it for December 2025. We went over our original budget for the venue hire and catering, but the payment schedule over this period was clear and manageable. Any questions we had in the lead up to our wedding were responded to quickly and thoroughly. On the day, the staff blew us away – in particular, our event manger Immy and bar manager Jonny went over and above to ensure we had the best day ever. Nothing was too much for Immy – from checking in on me and my bridesmaids in the bridal prep room first thing (which we were granted access to an hour early, which I was very grateful for as it made getting ready less of a rush!) Immy took all the stationery and decorations we’d brought with us off our hands so we could just focus on enjoying the morning. Immy was on hand right up to evening, ensuring everything ran to time and paying attention to detail including helping me with getting stones out of my shoes and bustling my dress before our first dance! The venue was tastefully decorated for Christmas and the quality of food and drinks on the day exceeded our expectations. Having a selection of canapes put to one side for us so we didn’t miss out was a nice touch! So many of our guests complemented the service, food and drinks served during our wedding breakfast and in the evening (one guest said the pizza was the best they’d ever had). Jonny was professional and good craic behind the bar and our evening cocktail station which both gave the wow factor. Jon and I just wanted to say huge thank you for everything you did for our wedding. I know many people say this, but we both felt that it really was our perfect day. You personally made the whole process so easy and enjoyable. You helped to keep it completely stress free from the moment we met you at the first meeting and all the way through. You always responded to us promptly and nothing was out of the question. On the day, all the staff were nothing but impressive. All of our guests have shared how delicious all the food was and the bubbles and wine, that was chosen. Many of our guests had not been to the Jolly Sportsman before and now they certainly will be returning and that is down to how remarkable you and everyone there made our day. I would also like to say how lovely you were also with our children and helping them feel involved in the whole process - they loved every second and will hopefully hold on to that memory forever! Thank you! Jon and I can’t thank you all enough and i couldn’t recommend it strongly enough to any other couple who are looking for a magical day. A huge big thank you to you and all the team. This was the perfect location for our wedding reception. Gote Barn is everything you could want for a rustic barn wedding. Will and Polly were amazing hosts. They were easy to contact, made themselves available for all our needs and had some great suggestions for decorations, vendors and other wedding logistics. Polly was even able to arrange an extra quiet space and a baby changing table as we had lots of young children attending. Gote Barn is in a magical setting with some amazing photo opportunities. The barn is already beautifully adorned with lights but there is also lots of opportunity to decorate it to make it personal to you. We made bunting out of strips of material which worked very well. Despite being a genuine old barn, there is good disabled access with a paved path and a disabled toilet. We also felt that it was very good value for a wedding venue - more weather resistant than a marquee and more customisable than a hotel. We couldn’t recommend Gote Barn more - thank you!
