Brinkburn is a chic country wedding venue set in a dramatic, rural wooded ravine on the banks of the River Coquet, Northumberland. With a 12th century manor house and church, Grade II listed stable block and stunning grounds, the stage is set for your perfect wedding day.
The contemporary White Room is licensed to hold civil ceremonies and partnerships. For a more traditional church service take a peek into Brinkburn Priory. Humanist celebrations can take place in The White Room, in the woodlands or in the architectural grandeur of the un-restored manor house.
For your reception, you can host a stunning celebration in our tipis. With the perfect blend of traditional sophistication and modern quirkiness, your reception will be an unforgettable experience. The tipis can accommodate up to 120 seated guests and turn into a bar area for the evening, while guests dance the night away in the magnificent White Room and enjoy drinks on the terrace.
As the night draws to a close, you and your nearest and dearest can head to the stunning accommodation on-site. The former stables is perfect for larger groups, while Bel House can house a small family or couple and Mullins House is ideal for groups of four. Priory Cottage is the perfect romantic escape for couples. From Spring 2019, there will also be space for eight more guests in Blakey house and Cuthbert house, which offer the option to adjoin.

Do not book if you are looking for flexibility in the current restrictions
If you are looking for a venue with a degree of flexibility when it comes to covid restrictions, Brinkburn is not for you. After moving my wedding forward to 21.01.21 I had my dream day planned, covid has meant that legally it cannot take place, I worked with the venue to find a suitable date with the option being December or leave it floating and fill a last minute gap. You can't plan a wedding with no date and December isn't an option for us. It should have been made clear when booking that if covid restricts they won't allow a smaller wedding in wedding season, even midweek! After exploring options I asked about cancellation so I could weigh up my options, I was HORRIFIED when an invoice landed in my inbox with no phone call to talk it through, just a list of UNREASONABLE charges. BEWARE, what they don't tell you upon booking is they they will charge crazy amounts. £25 PER EMAIL they have ever sent me (I'd be rich if I got £25 per email!!), £75 for my original viewing in which those that don't book don't get charged, a finance 'admin' fee of £125 when I paid by 1 cheque and 1 BACS payment to name just a few of the extortionate charges. NONE of which were in my contract, NONE of which i agree with. When disputed the owner did agree to take some off however made it clear the only way we would settle this was by going to court, at this point my wedding was still booked. I would have got married at Brinkburn, but the unreasonable costs and general attitude meant that I've had no option but to cancel. Lesson learned, never judge a book by its cover, beautiful on the outside but not so nice when the law dictates a cancelled wedding.

Disgruntled Father of the bride.
A word to the wise. My daughter was to be married at Brinkburn today, but due to restrictions couldn't. She was told that the next availability was December 2021. Now I see that Brinkburn are advertising COVID special deal weddings between May 2021 and October 2021. Considering that last week there was no availability i find this deal appearing hard to believe. Be very careful if you book, as a cancellation will see you out of pocket by quite a sum of money

We couldnt have picked a more beautiful setting
We couldnt have picked a more beautiful setting for our Wedding, and Sons Christening, in September, the day was perfect from start to finish thanks to the fantastic team at Brinkburn, especially our lovely coordinator Jan who made sure the day went without a hitch and kept me calm when it was most needed! Our family was blown away by the cottages, were hoping to return for a holiday weekend in the near future
