What can we say... Newton Hall were absolutely incredible from start to finish. We don't live in Northumberland, we actually live 4 hours away in the Midlands, despite this, the team at Newton Hall managed to perfect our wedding day. Nothing was too much for them and they were so helpful ensuring everything ran seamlessly on the day. The staff were fantastic, particularly our Master of Ceremonies, Ian and our Wedding Manager Lucy. Their knowledge, confidence and reassurance meant we felt absolutely at ease throughout the day, we didn't have to worry or fuss about anything. I must also mention the amazing Mariana who was the mostly friendly and warming lady, she went out of her way at both our pre-wedding visit and on our big day to add a personal touch to our wedding day and she made us feel so special. From last minute table changes to cake in our bedroom, Newton Hall accommodated every request without question and we would absolutely recommend the beautiful venue to any bride and groom looking for a stunning, quirky venue who offer tailored and bespoke services. The venue itself is amazing, every photograph has an incredible backdrop, it is truly unique. The food was fantastic and fresh and all our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. Despite only having 30 guests, the venue never felt empty, with a fantastic choice of rooms and a clever set up our small wedding felt intimate and cosy. We had our evening reception in the Enchanted Chapel which was the perfect size for a dance floor, space for our performer and a cosy comfy seating area. It was the most romantic evening, filled with love and laughter. Thank you so much to all the amazing staff who helped us create our incredible day, we will definitely cherish the memories for many years to come and we can't wait to come back and visit such a beautiful part of the country at the first chance we get! We had a magical Christmas wedding on 23rd December in the great hall with the open fire lit. Our wedding experience with Jesmond Dent house was wonderful from planning to the big day itself. Our planner was amazing; nothing was ever a problem for her. The food was second to none and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The only niggle from our experience was the chef who was incredibly unhelpful when we asked for something a little nicer than sorbet or fresh fruit for dessert for my lactose intolerant maid of honour. The manager did however make a personal apology to us later. Overall, I wouldn't have changed our venue for anything. We are spending our first wedding anniversary there for an overnight stay.

We were married at Matfen on 14th March 2020 and we couldn’t have picked a more perfect venue. It was the first venue we saw, and from the moment we stepped into the Great Hall we knew it was the one for us. It’s such a romantic setting and the new refurbishments only add to the wonderful charm of Matfen Hall. Laura, our wedding coordinator was so helpful and lovely throughout the whole planning process and she was always there to answer my millions of questions. The day before our wedding (the dreaded Friday 13th) we found out our honeymoon was cancelled (we were due to fly the day after our wedding), so there was a lot of running around trying to sort things out. When we finally arrived at Matfen - later than we had hoped - we were feeling stressed and a bit deflated, but Max (our brilliant Master of Ceremonies), told us they were giving us the bridal suite for an extra night – such a kind and thoughtful gesture which was greatly appreciated and shows just how much they care. The day itself was wonderful – everything went smoothly (massive thanks to Max for that) – the staff were brilliant and the food delicious. Max went above and beyond for us, even manning the photo booth later in the evening, she truly made it a completely stress free day! We can’t wait to visit Matfen Hall again and look forward to putting our lock on the bridge! Thanks again to all the staff for making our day so magical! Love Mr & Mrs Dixon

Thank you to everyone at Eshott for a magical wedding weekend. It was everything we hoped it would be and the location, the helpful staff and of course the amazing sunny spring weather made it perfect! We love the hall, it’s like home from home, the rooms are gorgeous and the grounds and the Reading Room are so beautiful. Walking down the drive to the ceremony at the Reading Room made it even more special. On the morning of my wedding I opened my curtains to see rabbits playing on the lawn, blue tits flying by singing and the sun shining through the trees – couldn’t have been better! All of our guests loved the hall too so everyone had a fantastic time. We are very happy that we picked Eshott Hall for our wedding and would recommend it to anyone else who would like a picture perfect, relaxed country house wedding in the most lovely county in England.

From the very beginning, the communication was excellent. The team guided us through each step of the process, including the legal requirements and who to contact, and were always quick to answer any questions we had. They were also incredibly accommodating whenever changes needed to be made. The planning process was really well supported, with several meetings along the way to make sure everything was on track and to give us the chance to ask further questions. On the day itself, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Everything ran so smoothly and exactly how we had envisioned it. The food was delicious, and so many of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Shotton Grange to anyone looking for the perfect wedding venue.
