Show your appreciation for your best man and groomsmen by treating them to a thoughtful gift. One from this selection of gifts for every budget will do nicely…

six bottles of beer with special labels as a best man proposal

Your best man and groomsmen have a lot to live up to! Throwing the world’s greatest stag do, helping you to organise the wedding, giving hilarious (but not to risqué speeches) and getting you to the ceremony on time (with minimal nerves and a calm exterior).

So then, it’s no surprise that you want to show a token of your appreciation by purchasing some groomsmen gifts to thank your buddies for being there for you… even after whatever they subject you to on the stag do.

There are no hard and fast rules on what sort of gift you should get – or how much you should spend. We all know weddings are expensive, so if you want to stick to a small budget, there are plenty of affordable, yet meaningful options.

There are a wealth of items out there that can be personalised – from decks of cards, to beer glasses and even socks! Alternatively, you can splurge on something you know they will appreciate and enjoy now and in the future – a hip flask, pen or even a watch. And of course, if you know they have a hobby or there is something that they particularly love, then go for it – golf balls maybe, or how about their favourite whisky?

The world is your oyster, but to get you off on the right foot, we’ve whipped up over 30 of our favourite ideas for best men, groomsmen and ushers. Hop straight to the section you need here:

Do Groomsmen Get gifts?

There are no set rules in place of what your wedding party should and shouldn’t get. But if you want to show your friends a token of your appreciation, and you can afford to do so, then of course – be inspired by our guide and get a groomsman gift you know they will love.

You don’t have to follow any guidelines, so what you buy them is completely up to you. If they have a hobby or specific interest, you can get them something you know they will appreciate. Or you can give them something that’s personalised, which they will cherish for years to come.

You can go for something funny or humorous if you know they enjoy a good giggle. If you want, you can find them something to use or wear on the wedding day – socks or a belt perhaps – or, you can give them their present in the run up to the wedding to give you one thing less to remember on the day itself.

Does the Best Man Buy the Groom a Gift?

The best man is under absolutely no obligation to purchase the groom a present – they will have been working hard to make sure the groom feels supported in the run up to, and on the big day. Of course, if you want to get a present, then you should absolutely go ahead and do so.

If you want to get the groom something really special, it is a great idea to get together with the rest of the groomsmen or ushers and get something as a group. This could either be something special for them to open up on the morning of the wedding, something funny that can be gifted as part of the best man’s speech, or it could even be tickets to a sporting event or gig that you can all attend together in the future.

Do the Groomsmen Buy the Groom a Gift?

Your presence is a gift enough! As with the best man, there is absolutely no obligation. But if you want to treat them to something you could club together with the other groomsmen to buy something really special. Alternatively – you could join together to get a personal gift for the couple.

Remember that this really is a case of the thought that counts, you just want to congratulate your almost-newlywed pal and let them know how much you appreciate their friendship – you don’t have to spend a fortune.

Now the gifts are sorted, why not check out some wedding suit options?
