I am a documentary wedding photographer based in Reading ( UK ). What that means is that I will capture your day without bossing everyone around and getting in your way. I am discreet, patient, friendly and get on well with pretty much everyone. I'm also very good at staying in the background and capturing both the big moments and the little moments you may have missed on your wedding day!
I'm a photographer, but I'm also a father ( of two ), a husband, a runner, a bit of a culture vulture, but I also love football ( Liverpool! ). I have a ton of other interests, movies, video games, music, gadgets ( I am a bit of a geek at heart ). All these interests are a bit exhausting, but they also allow me to connect and get on with all sorts of people. Whatever your interests are, there is a good chance we will get on great!
I have been widely published in in various magazines (including Bride, Photo Professional )over the years, both print and digital, as well as some national newspapers.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the price of your service?
£1100 for full day coverage, this includes a 100 page album.
What services do you offer?
Full day wedding coverage, family photography.
What does the wedding package include?
Around 400 edits from the day, carefully edited to a high standard and uploaded to a secure site for easy download. Higher priced packages include an album. Please check website for full details.
How far in advance should I contact you?
Preferably a year, but it's always worth asking even if it's a last minute booking.
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
Are you able to travel?
Yes, although this will add to the cost.
What is the charge for travelling?
Fuel and if necessary accommodation costs.
What style of photos do you take?
Documentary, candid images mostly, but I will of course do formal shots if these are requested.
What kind of technology do you use?
I use an iPad Pro and Mac Book Pro for editing, and secure online gallery for storing the images. I backup my images to multiple hard disks and the Apple Cloud service to ensure no images are lost.
Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?
My main camera is completely silent ( Sony A9 ) so I am able to capture candid images that other photographers might not be able to.
What kind of equipment do you use?
Full frame Sony and Fuji Cameras. My main wedding camera is a Sony A9 and my second camera is a Sony A7R3. I mainly use 35mm and 85mm primes lenses. I also have a large range of lighting equipment for dark venues or rainy days.
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
What''s the delivery time for photographic report?
I usually have all the edits done within 10 days.
Do you send all the photos taken?
No, I eliminate duplicates, out of focus and non flattering images. Most of the images eliminated will be duplicate shots. I typically shoot 3-4000 images for a wedding so most clients would not wish to go through all of those! I typically delivery around 350-400 images from a full day wedding.
Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?
That is up to my client! My standard package is for me alone, but I have a number of second photographers I can call on should the client wish it. I also know and can recommend a number of wedding professionals including hair stylists, makeup artists and designers.
In case of unforeseen circumstances, do you have a replacement photographer?
I have a network of other photographers I can call on to replace me at short notice ( although this has never been necessary so far !).
Do you have the rights to publish the wedding photos?
Do you charge per hour or per event?
If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?
How do you charge extra time?
£40 per extra hour over and above a standard full day ( which is bridal prep to first dance, although typically I will stay a bit longer anyway to make sure I capture the best images ).
What are the forms of payment?
Paypal, bank transfer, credit card ( via Invoice ).

Capturing it perfectly
We had the best day with the best photographer for our wedding. Mike captured our day just as we imagined. He went to so much effort and even got perfect pictures of our little toddlers which is not always easy to do. We have recommended him to friends for their weddings too and they have been just as pleased. The best wedding photographer!!Sent on 01/08/2020

Fabulous wedding photographer!
Professional, enthusiastic, great creative eye, excellent comms. Mike listened to my wants and definitely delivered. I specifically requested a “first look” photo which is quite tricky as you only get one moments chance, in a dark church... it’s perfect. I actually teared up when I saw it. If you want photos that capture the true essence of your wedding and resonate with personality then book Croshaw Photography.Sent on 31/07/2020
