We couldn’t believe how good the band sounded and the amazing energy they brought all night. We also had the duo for the ceremony which was stunning and so worth it. Such a talented group, the set list was impeccable, happy to take some requests, would recommend to anyone!

We went to see their showcase in Hove during the summer and after speaking with Darren we immediately decided to book them.
We chose an 8-piece set up with brass section and they were fantastic. They completely exceeded all expectations. The sound was amazing and the music was flawless. They sounded better live than on any of the demo videos we watched.
They did 3 sets and each set ensured the dance floor was never empty. Both of the vocalists had brilliant voices and the brass section were fabulous and added so much to the overall sound.
They made our wedding truly special and we can’t thank and recommend them enough.
Booking and organising the evening was easy. The portal made it run smoothly and Darren was very helpful in arranging the evening and working out timings and our play list.

Our caterers had heard Blue Lion Band at an event and recommended them to us. Communication was swift. They happened to be doing a showcase in London that night. We visited and within 3 songs they played one of "our" tracks and we were sold. The atmosphere they create is electric. I honestly spent most of my wedding evening reception dancing! Dessie and the whole band are phenomenal. We had so many great comments about them from guests and the staff at our wedding venue. Just perfect!

From the very first point of contact with Dessie, we knew we were in safe hands. His professionalism, enthusiasm, and passion for what he does came across instantly, and he made the whole process feel so easy and exciting. We also went along to watch the band play a set in Hoxton, which completely confirmed for us that The Blue Lion Band was the band for our wedding – the energy, the talent, and the way they engaged with the crowd was just unmatched.

On the wedding day itself, they completely exceeded every expectation we had. The vibe they created and the party atmosphere they brought was beyond anything we could have imagined. In our pre-wedding meeting, we’d said that all we wanted was for everyone to be on the dancefloor all night and to have the best time – and they absolutely delivered on that and so much more.

Every single member of the band was incredible. Their talent, energy, and sheer love for performing shone through, and it made the whole evening unforgettable. As the bride and groom, we genuinely didn’t leave the dancefloor once – and being invited up to join the band on stage at one point was such a surreal and unforgettable highlight.

The feedback from our guests has been overwhelming – people are still talking about how amazing the band was and how they could have happily kept dancing all night long. It honestly felt like one huge celebration from start to finish, and The Blue Lion Band were such a massive part of making that happen.

Wedding at Wharfedale Grange on 21st August 2025. We were absolutely delighted with Blue lion Band! They were unbelievably helpful during the entire planning process and the musicians were ALL on time, in exact the right place and playing exactly the right stuff just perfectly. I couldn’t fault them. We had a string duo for our ceremony, a cocktail trio in the afternoon and a 7 piece live band for the evening. I just wish I had had time to thank them all in person on the day. The vocalist was exceptional and they all NAILED the first dance song for us- it went down a storm!

These guys are seriously good at their craft! We had the six piece with male and female vocals + saxophonist, which we felt added another level to the music played on the night. All the musicians/vocalists were on another level, and they played our requested first dance + last dance expertly. We asked for a variety of genres which they catered for with ease and fulfilled our other requests with no niggles! I'd highly recommend The Blue Lion Band! Also if you're toying between asking for the five or six piece, I'd go with the six (personal opinion) just because the sax player was amazing.

Darren and The Blue Lion band made our wedding absolutely perfect from start to finish. Accommodating last minutes additions (Saxophonist during the cocktail hour) as well as letting us have full input into the set lists as well as DJ sessions in between. The online portal is great and easy to use, communicating throughout as well as on the day with any time adjustments. Could not recommend them highly enough and the dancefloor was packed all night. We had blue lion band at our wedding. We had 1 singer during the ceremony, a saxophonist and keyboard during the drinks reception and then the 7 piece band in the evening. Every part was outstanding we had so many compliments by guests on how good the band was. Special shoutout to Denquar our ceremony singer and lead singer with the band she was brilliant every song was pitch perfect. They really bring the vibe to your event. Very responsive during the planning stages. Highly recommend.

Blue Lion Band are simply the best wedding band! We had an amazing party with the 9 piece band in the evening, having enjoyed beautiful soft jazz from their trio (double bass, guitar and sax) in the garden during the reception drinks. The 2 singers were exceptional, and got all our guests involved and having a great time. I particularly loved the brass section, who really brought all our favourite songs to life. The entire band were remarkable, a true class act. Would book them again in a heartbeat.

Dessie and the Blue Lion Band are amazing! They are so talented and our guests raved about them all, not least Delilah the lead singer. The dance floor was full all night, and the band were super responsive and adaptable to requests in the build up, even making adaptations to our first dance song so we could have it just the way we wanted. The band were even on board with working out accompaniment so that I got to perform a song for my wife. We had a Jewish wedding and the band do a fantastic set for Jewish dancing. So much fun! We loved planning the wedding with Dessie and the Blue Lion Band and are looking for future events to get to hire them again!

We had the 6-piece band play at our wedding and they were honestly incredible. They completely smashed it from the first song to the last. The energy was perfect throughout. They absolutely nailed our first dance, which was an Ibiza classic, and the female vocalist’s voice was unreal. So many of our guests have said how amazing they were and the dance floor didn’t empty once. We’re so glad we booked them. It made the night.
