The Old Kent Barn is a wedding and event venue in Swingfield Minnis, a village in Kent, England. Easily accessible from Kent and surrounding counties. Situated in the glorious countryside, this historical setting has been family-owned and operated since 2005. The onsite barns, glorious gardens, and high-quality service will ensure that you and your guests enjoy an exceptional wedding experience.
Facilities and Capacity
There's 2 barns on site; a purpose-built open plan oak framed barn for indoor weddings and receptions for up to 150 guests and the original 'Old' barn for accommodation, built over 250 years ago featuring a newlywed suite and four additional double bedrooms, sleeping up to 16 guests overnight. The barns are set in manicured landscaped grounds and surrounded by picturesque Kent countryside, making it the perfect backdrop. The two-and-a-half-acre gardens are seaonally planted, including an informal water garden, all set against a backdrop of mature trees. The garden ceremony nestled within the countryside has a rose and wisteria-covered aisle and glass canopies to accommodate up to 150 guests. Both indoor and outdoor ceremony areas have a high-quality sound system so all your guests can hear the ceremony and music clearly. Atmospheric lighting has been placed throughout the grounds for you and your guests to enjoy the surroundings in the evening.

The most amazing venue
We had our wedding at The Old Kent Barn in September this year, and it was absolutely amazing! The venue itself is stunning, full of charm and character and the team behind it are just incredible.
From the very moment we booked, the staff were so helpful and supportive. There was never a single stressful moment in the whole planning process because they were always on hand to answer questions and help with every little detail. Their communication and care made everything so easy and enjoyable.
On the big day, the service was completely faultless. Everything ran so smoothly, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more. The food was incredible, all of our guests are still talking about how delicious it was!
Every single detail was thought of, and we truly had the most perfect day at the most perfect venue, surrounded by the most amazing people who made it all possible. We can’t recommend The Old Kent Barn highly enough it was everything we dreamed of and more!

Highly recommend
I cannot recommend TOKB enough, from our very first contact with them enquiry right through to our very special day they were amazing! Their attention to detail, professionalism, care, love, and responsiveness was outstanding. They think of every little detail making the journey enjoyable and stress free allowing you to soak in every milestone of your journey and big day! Nothing was too small for the team and everyone at TOKB was truly amazing and lovely! If we could do it all again we wouldn’t change a thing, they made our day perfect!

Best Day Ever!
We had our wedding at The Old Kent Barn and couldn’t be happier with our experience. Everything was incredibly well planned and organised from start to finish. The staff were professional, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our day perfect. The venue itself is stunning, with beautiful grounds and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It made for the most amazing setting for our ceremony and reception. We felt completely supported throughout the planning process and on the day itself. Highly recommend to any couple looking for a seamless and unforgettable wedding experience.

Happiest Day of our lives and all thanks to the old Kent barn
We would just like to give a huge heart felt thank you to all of the team at The Old Kent Barn.
We had our special day on a sun filled day on 3rd January 2025 surrounded by all our family and loved ones.
Our wedding was brought forward with 6 months due to doctors advice to my wife.
They couldn’t of been more helpful. Helped us through every step of the way and guided us through the entire process.
This was an absolute god send to my wife who is regularly in and out of Kings College Hospital.
The team took all the stress and worry from us and were always on hand in with any questions.
They were absolutely awesome. They are extremely well organised and ensured everything went well.
Our fairy tale wedding became a reality and we owe this to all the team.
We’d like to give an extra special shout out to Chloe, our wedding co-ordinator. You were awesome!

Fantastic venue
We got married at TOKB and it was flawless from the very first moment we’ve signed to the wedding day itself.
The whole process was very smooth and they have thought about every little detail. Their portal is very comprehensive and they help you to plan your wedding and make sure you cover every aspect of your day.
They really do go above and beyond and they run the wedding almost military style (in a good way!). They make sure you are on track without being pushy. Everything is done seamlessly and in the background. You never know they are there!
The venue is fantastic and there’s very little you need to do to decorate. It’s just down to individual themes and table decorations. It allows you to take great photos as the venue and the gardens are beautiful.
The food was great. The portions were massive and it tasted great. You won’t be leaving the wedding being hungry.
All in all, they have thought about everything, including the tiniest details. Even at the end of the night, the have made sure that there was some evening food left for us in our bedroom.

The BEST of the best when it comes to weddings! More than just a venue!🤍
I would recommend TOKB to every single couple out there! They are more than just a venue - the staff here cater to you as if you are family, and gave us the wedding day of our dreams! Each staff member goes above and beyond to ensure your day is perfect, and you get a wedding coordinator who basically ensures everything on the day goes smoothly. They took all the burden of the stress so my partner and I could just be present and enjoy our day. I’m so glad we chose the Old Kent Barn, as my partner and I know not every venue is as thorough and caring as them (from stories from our friends and family about their weddings). Thank you TOKB - we love you!!

Just incredible!
We chose TOKB as our wedding venue and never once regretted our decision. They have been incredibly supportive through our plethora of questions and thoroughly looked after us from enquiry and beyond the big day. Every single member of staff works extremely hard - from grounds keepers to kitchen staff to bar staff to wedding coordinators - you name it! Nothing is too much trouble for anyone there as they purely want you to have the most special experience with them. I cannot recommend them enough!

BOOK THEM! Don’t think twice about it.
A week on from our wedding and I’ve come to the conclusion that there are no sufficient words to describe our experience at the barn.
From the minute we booked, the team have been brilliant. They are so responsive, they never leave you waiting for an answer when you email. They are positive, supportive and, most importantly, kind!
I have listened to the podcast ‘The Unfiltered Bride’ for most of the wedding planning and they encourage booking a ‘day of’ coordinator as wedding venues don’t provide the support you need. I can promise, with all my heart, you do not need one at TOKB. I had worried that we’d made a mistake not booking one, but boy did they prove me wrong.
They had at least two people checking on us throughout the morning as well as someone else for my husband, who helped with ties and getting them ready. Yes they were there to coordinate everything from the venue POV, but I did not feel ignored or that I was missing an extra person to help. They were on hand to help get me into my dress, to make sure my bridesmaids were ready. If you listen specifically to episode 74 of ‘The Unfiltered Bride’, everything listed during that episode as something a ‘day of’ coordinator does, is everything the team at TOKB did.
The food at TOKB is sublime. We had the hog roast for wedding breakfast and pizza for the evening. Our guests loved everything about it all, including the canapés. They took all dietary requirements we had in their stride and no-one went hungry.
I could gush about them for hours, they really are excellent.

Perfect wedding venue
The quality of what the team delivers at the Old Kent Barn is superb. The level of planning and detail, coupled together with the quality of execution, is as good as it gets in the wedding industry.
The food, the service, the people... everything we could have asked for was perfect.
We totally enjoyed our wedding day at The Old Kent Barn as everything went exactly as we would have wanted. Every guest we spoke to after said the same: "an amazing venue and the best wedding they had been to".

Mr and Mrs Clucas 27.6.24
The most perfect venue for our most magical day. The team could not have done any more for us, big shoutout to Ashleigh our co-ordinator who is a DIAMOND. I could go on and on about this place but truly has stolen mine and my husbands heart as our forever happy place. You can see why they are an award winning venue. We will be back as promised and bring our fur baby this time.
