Julia and Steve celebrated a traditional church ceremony at 1.30pm on the 19th of August, 2011. They hired a beautiful barn to host their wedding reception and hand-made a lot of the details that were displayed throughout the day. Steve works for the British Army and therefore the couple decided to weave the Union Jack in to their hot pink wedding colour scheme.
The Bride and groom
Julia and Steve met on matched.com! Having found it hard to meet men with her job, and not finding her prince charming down the local pub, Julia decided to give online dating a go. She started chatting to Steve online – and seeing as they lived in the same town, decided to meet for a drink, with friends, locally after just 1 week. The couple clicked instantly and knew that they were on to something special
Steve planned his proposal very well and consulted Julia’s sister when it came to choosing the ring. He chose a white gold band with an emerald cut diamond in the centre, surrounded by smaller diamonds and decided to propose on the beach where the romantic couple had first said ‘I love you’ to each other. After the surprise proposal, newly engaged Julia and Steve spent the next 8 months planning their exciting wedding.
