Stubton Hall is an elegant, 19th-century country house located just outside Newark, Nottinghamshire, close to the Lincolnshire border. The house is situated in 24 acres of its own parkland at the edge of a quiet, rural village, making it a perfect secluded and picturesque backdrop for milestone occasions. It is just a short drive from the centre of the historic market town of Newark with its mainline trains and access to the A1, so it is easily accessible guests coming from near and far.
We have been hosting weddings since 2009, so we are pros at helping you to plan and organise your wedding.
Facilities and Capacity
At Stubton Hall, you can celebrate your own personal love story in a variety of elegantly-proportioned rooms. Our grand reception rooms include the Bow Room, the Music Room, the Conservatory, and the Orangery, each of which is licensed for civil ceremonies and can be adapted to weddings of all types and sizes. We can also organise outdoor ceremonies on our large and sunny terrace. Drinks receptions can be hosted in the main hall, bar, and the Bow Room or, when the the weather is fine, on our south-facing terrace. Afterwards, guests will be invited to the Orangery for a delicious sit-down meal. The Orangery can easily host well over 100 diners with ample additional space for a dance floor for after the meal when the lights go down.
Stubton Hall has 25 lavishly-appointed bedrooms for you and your guests to retreat to at the end of the magical day. Each bedroom is decorated with sumptuous fabrics, antiques, and oil paintings, adding to the overall charming character of this fine country house. Despite its historic charm, each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, TV, free WiFi access, and independent climate-control system.

Our Wedding Day
My husband and I got married here on Saturday 17th August 2024 and what a perfect day it truly was! From our first visit to enquire about the venue with Laura to our special day coming around so quickly, with all of the team BOH & FOH, it was nothing short of perfection. We could not fault SH on a single part of our day, they were so incredibly accommodating with the rooms, the food, drinks, and special requirements. This was all put together with great attention to detail and really exceeded our expectations for our day. We were over the moon to be able to have our dog, Mabel, at the venue as well and stay over for our weekend, not all venues over this and for us. It was a deal breaker as she is a huge part of our family, this was the cherry on the cake. All of our family & friends commented on how much of a stunning venue it is, how incredible the staff were and how we were so lucky to have gotten married at such a special place. We cannot thank all of Stubton Hall enough for making our dream wedding day come true.

The best new years
Words cannot describe how grateful we are to all the team at Stubton for allowing us to have the most perfect wedding day! After being let down by our original venue very last minute for our New Year’s Eve wedding, Stubton very kindly opened their doors to us when they would usually be closed. From the very first look round we were made to feel so welcome and they made every effort to ensure we were able to have everything we wanted and more for our wedding day.
Laura and the team were so kind all the way through the process, and on the day helped everything run perfectly. Stubton was the dream location for our New Years Eve party from the warm and cosy fireplaces to the perfect dancing space well into the night. I cannot recommend Stubton Hall enough and we wish we could do it all again!

Faultless day!
We got married at Stubton Hall in September this year and I wish we could relive this day over and over. Laura and all the staff were absolutely incredible, nothing was too much trouble and I couldn’t thank them enough for how smoothly the day went.
When we were looking at wedding venues, as soon as we came up to the main drive, I knew it was the one. The grounds are stunning and it was an added bonus that there were so many beautiful rooms for our guests to stay over in which is exactly what we wanted, it’s also so special waking up the following morning to all your loved ones at breakfast. The best day EVER
I cannot recommend Stubton Hall enough to anyone who is getting married in the near future. The venue and the grounds are absolutely beautiful and our guests loved it. The staff from our wedding coordinator Laura, to the bar and waitressing staff were incredible. Super polite, organised and helpful.
The food was hot with large portion sizes that people still talk about now! We would love to thank the chef and team.
The day ran extremely smooth and we could not have asked for anything more.
Stubton was on the pricier side for us and it did feel like you had to pay for every tiny detail (i.e all bedrooms are different prices, evening food was quite expensive for pizza's and bacon cobs) but putting this aside it was all worth it.
We would love to do the day all over again!! Thank you thank you! xx

The best day of our lives!
As soon as we drove up to Stubton Hall we knew it would be the one. This was solidified after walking round the stunning grounds and hall and seeing all of the incredible rooms that were on offer. But as for our wedding day, if we could relive this day over and over again we definitely would. Everything about the day was perfect, and we cannot thank Stubton Hall enough for making it so special. We invited a close group of people to stay with us the night before and the team at Stubton Hall couldn't do enough for us. Then on our wedding day, everything went so smoothly without a worry - we just knew that Stubton Hall had everything under control. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was, how incredible the food tasted and how attentive the staff were without being overbearing. Thank you so much to Laura for helping us plan our dream wedding day and a big thank you to Hannah for executing the day perfectly. We would highly recommend this wedding venue!

Stubton Hall
Newly engaged couples if you are looking for a wedding venue, look no further than stubton hall! My husband and I have recently got married at Stubton Hall and it was everything and more! From the moment we first went to look round at stubton hall we were blown away by its stunning grounds, bedrooms and extraordinary ceremony room and dining hall! From day one, the team at stubton were fantastic! Laura our wedding co-ordinator was amazing. As a bride, I had lots of questions but no issue was too big or too small! Laura was able to help with every query I had and put our minds at rest! We had in depth meetings with Laura and the team about the food and the running of the day! We were even able to stay at stubton the night before to allow us to set up and have a lovely dinner in the orangery with our close loved ones! It was a lovely weekend away! The day of the wedding went smoothly and Laura ensured to keep both bridal and groomsman party on time to ensure the day ran smoothly! Our bridal suite was sublime along side all the other rooms! Our guests were blown away by the venue and the location of this venue! The food was delicious and had lots of delicious options to choose from! To us food was very important!
We have had nothing but compliments about our special day and we cannot thank stubton enough for all their time love and support!

The venue of dreams
Where to start? We fell in love with Stubton the moment we were driving up through the beautiful grounds. What a venue! Not only stunning on the outside but the decor inside is simply beautiful. We loved that all the bedrooms had different designs and as we walked around it just kept ticking all our boxes! The fact it is exclusive is the biggest bonus and we just knew it was our venue. Our wedding coordinator was Laura and we can never thank Laura enough for everything she did for us! From first consultation to midnight at the end of our Wedding Day, Laura was there to answer any questions and help in any way she could! She gave the best advice from her experience and helped us make it our day! We had no worries at all during the day, everything was handled with ease and flowed perfectly. The food was amazing and service by all the staff was incredible! All of our guests said it was a breath taking venue and they all loved it and the service that was provided! Stubton will always hold a special place in our hearts! Thank you Laura and the whole team for everything!

Perfect Venue for a wedding planned abroad
We live in the US but were getting married in the UK to be closer to 1/2 of the family. Stubton Hall was more than accommodating to plan virtual calls and communicate via email to work around our time difference. We loved that there were 25 rooms, giving us the flexibility to accommodate all -if not most- of our guests who were traveling from a different country. We also loved that we were able to book the venue the night before the wedding, giving our guests the option to stay in the area (great for those traveling in). Lastly, the food was amazing! We chose an 'authentic' English dish and our guests were not disappointed! We loved the venue and well they worked with our vendors. We would highly recommend!

A perfect day!
You'll see that we've scored you the maximum on all counts - basically because last Friday was the most perfect day - everything went so smoothly and it was all so lovely.
Thank you so much - Stubton was amazing and all of the staff were wonderful. The food was fabulous, and everyone liked the wines. The hall looked amazing, and the flower arrangements already within the venue were beautiful. As were the grounds.
Why did we choose Stubton? Not just because it's a fantastic setting with lovely grounds for photos and a really welcoming atmosphere (our guests especially loved the bar!), but also because of the accommodation - our party was made up of 60% Americans and it was so much easier for them to be able to get ready, refresh and stay over at the venue. All of the rooms were so comfortable, and the breakfast the next day was really good - and a lovely opportunity to be able to say a fond farewell to those who had to leave us.
Laura was great at looking after us, as were all of the team, and she managed to make everything look so effortless!
We can't sing your praises too highly.

Stunning location for our Jane Austen inspired wedding
Stubton Hall was the perfect venue for our wedding, gorgeous well kept grounds with beautiful wildlife, old trees, a pond and lake.
We had 115 people, 67 from abroad, therefore we took full advantage of the 25 rooms. The venue being close to Newark made it easy for guests to travel up from London on the train too.
The night before there was no event so the bar area and drawing room allowed for relaxed pre wedding gathering which was really special as we don’t get to see our British family too often.
Laura is a great, calm and organised coordinator giving us the best timeline and confidence in executing all the details for setting up the space as we imagined. The staff at the venue were phenomenal, friendly and tireless with their attention to guests and timeliness of service.
The orangery reception room has everything you need, gorgeous garden views, classy bar, uplighting built in.
Our guests have said this is the best wedding they’ve been to and the best wedding food they’ve ever had. We had the lamb and Parma ham wrapped chicken for main course and chocolate torte for dessert.
We have had an absolute dream wedding at Stubton Hall and would recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely perfect
We recently got married at Stubton and couldn't recommend it highly enough. Laura helped us to coordinate everything from day 1 until the end of our big day and she was amazing. No question was too big or too small or too random. Without Laura we would have been lost! The venue was stunning and well maintained. The rooms for our guests were perfect and made our guests feel special. The whole team at Stubton were professional throughout and helped to make our day special.
We couldn't have asked for more or for anywhere better to hold our wedding, we have nothing but positive things to say about Stubton Hall, the staff and especially Laura. All of our guests have said how amazing it was and how beautiful.

Fabulous Venue
From the moment we walked through the doors we knew this was the place for our wedding. Every step of planning right up to our ceremony and reception was faultless. Stubton Hall is amazing, kept in pristine condition, beautifully decorated and designed. The staff are fabulous, nothing is too much trouble. On our Wedding Day there wasn't one moment we had to think about arrangements, everything was run seamlessly by Laura and her staff so we could enjoy our day with our guests. We have had so many comments from our guests as to how beautiful the venue was and what a magical day they had. There actually isn't enough words to describe our Wedding Day experience at Stubton Hall, so to sum up.....Absolutely Perfect.
