Getting Married in Nottinghamshire

Nottinghamshire has much to offer visitors, with bustling towns, vibrant cultural offerings, and fabulous scenery. However, this lovely county might be best known for Sherwood Forest, the home of the legend of Robin Wood. Ancient oak trees have stood in these beautiful woodlands for centuries, and the forest resonates with history and stories. Visitors can explore over 400 hectares of tranquil woodlands and pastures. For couples who dream of a magical woodland or festival-style wedding, it’s hard to think of a better spot than Nottinghamshire.

Can You Hold an Outdoor Ceremony?

Outdoor weddings and civil partnerships are legal in England, allowing couples to say ‘I do’ surrounded by the beauty of nature. This is ideal for couples planning a dreamy forest celebration. Many venues also feature pretty outdoor structures like gazebos which can add an extra element of romance to the occasion.

When Is the Best Time for an Outdoor Wedding?

For woodland and festival-style weddings, June, July, and August are the best months for sunny, warm weather. Knowing English weather, you’ll need to prepare for all eventualities, but the chance of a hot day, a balmy evening, and a glorious, late sunset make it all worth it.
