Me and my husband had our wedding here on Saturday 26th and it was absolutely perfect! Communication with Birgit and the room bookings team was spot on from the start. Me and my bridesmaids stayed the night before and they were so accommodating (we were ringing to ask for mugs, extra coffee, champagne glasses, ice buckets etc) On the day everything ran so smoothly, the duty manager on shift (sorry I can't remember his name) was incredible! Again accommodating, everything on time, turn around amazing, food out so quickly! The food all day was incredible, canapes plentiful and varied & the waiting staff made a beeline for bridal party which was lovely. Wedding breakfast (especially sticky toffee pudding) and evening food was gorgeous, served hot and plenty of it! Apart from that the day was perfect! Recommend Colwick to anyone, thank you so much!

Its a shame, Let down right at the end.

Lets start with the venue, WOW what a beautiful venue. we chose this venue as this was the venue on the paper that could give us everything we need and more. The opportunity to take beautiful wedding pictures and also the option to bring my own caterers. I booked through Brigit who was great helped me so much all the way up until the day she went on holiday, the week of the wedding and that is where the issues started. Lets fast forward to the wedding day, wedding ceremony is over and we have just got to the reception, we had agreed to have an open bar for beers and ciders as we had paid a premium on the corkage to bring our own spirits. The bar was serving beers to my guests which it was clear the beers where not right, the “gas” had gone off. It was a joke they were serving beers when they were aware the gas was off, which is just unacceptable and not safe. So I have to go and speak to our POC on the day none other than Binoy, however he was nowhere to be seen. I then speak to the bar staff who start to point my guests nearly 450 people to the other bar in the main venue, for them to be turned away. At this point Binoy turns up and explains we cant use the other bar due to other functions fair enough, it went on for 20 mins them trying to sort out the pumps which should have been checked before the event. so the long and short of it is they couldn’t sort the beers so we have to buy bottled beers, for a sit down meal, which was unacceptable.
