Hotel Wedding Venues in Derbyshire

We chose Ringwood Hall as not only was it beautiful on the inside but the grounds were perfect too. We knew as soon as we pulled up in the car park to view it for the first time that this place was for us! The price is so reasonable aswell compared to other venues near by. I would also like to say a massive thank you to Oliver our MC for the day as he was great at everything throughout the day.

When my now husband and I went to view Morley Hayes as a potential venue for our wedding day, Carol was great in explaining everything and made us feel so welcome. We knew after that meeting that we wanted to have our wedding day with Morley Hayes. From that first meeting to the day of the wedding, the communication was great and the team were very responsive to my many questions. In terms of cost, we opted for the afternoon tea package for the day and the Morley BBQ for the evening and although the cost for the food and drinks included with these was our biggest outgoing for the day, it was well worth it. The only thing I wish we had asked for was cheese for the burgers on the BBQ, but all of our guests commented on how amazing the food was for the afternoon tea and evening BBQ. The staff were hardworking and couldn’t do enough for everyone on the day. We never needed to worry about anything which was a huge relief. Jane, Andrew and their team were great on the day, ensuring that everyone was where they needed to be at the right time. The only thing I would say is that despite me informing staff the night before that the cool bag containing our cake and Lindt chocolate favours needed to be put out in the morning for our venue styler to put out, this was forgotten. If I hadn’t of had one of my bridesmaids check the venue on the morning then we wouldn’t have known. It is minor but I think I would have been upset if I’d gotten into the room and they weren’t there. We had our wedding outside at the wedding dome and it was beautiful, the sun came out just as I was walking down the aisle and honestly it was perfect. We loved the space in the gardens after which was set up for reception drinks, and we also had photos outside. Morley Hayes has such beautiful places for photo opportunities and our photographer was familiar with the venue so knew all the great spots. The rest of our day took place in the Pavilion Suite which was perfect for our afternoon tea, and also the evening BBQ which was served on the balcony. It was exactly the space we needed for our day. We had the in house DJ (Alan) at a reasonable cost. We had liaised via email beforehand with a general overview of what genres etc we wanted and a specific playlist for our rock/metal/alternative section of the night. Alan was really lovely but I think misunderstood what we asked for and was very keen on sticking to the examples of music we sent (intended it to be more of a guide to what types of music we would like playing rather than a strict list). We had to explain that we were happy for him to play songs that guests had requested as he had told people he had to stick to the playlist. However, this doesn’t take away from the job he did and we would have him again if we did the day again. Our guests had a great night, and there was always someone on the dance floor. Alan finished with “Sweet Caroline” which was absolutely fantastic and ended the night perfectly. We upgraded to the honeymoon suite for the night of our wedding but I think this isn’t necessary unless you’re going to do two nights as we barely spent any time in the room so really didn’t get to enjoy the facilities. Our 6 year old son particularly liked the tv that came out the end of the huge bed we had. There is a beautiful bath in the room too. However, I stayed in a Superior room the night before with my two bridesmaids and the room we had was also really beautiful. Have to mention the staff again. Carol has been so kind and helpful from that first show round, to the details appointment and throughout, as well as the rest of the events team. Jane for leading the day, you were great. Andrew took the wedding party round to the wedding dome in the golf buggy that was decorated with flowers which was a nice touch. Sally and the hotel team were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble when we asked for a few things. Wendy and the restaurant team were so friendly and welcoming when we went for our breakfast (which was absolutely fantastic). The bar staff on the evening (I want to say Ollie and Jack?) of the wedding worked hard and made sure drinks were served in a timely manner and I don’t think the queue for the bar ever really got too long. It really does make a difference on the day when you don’t have to worry about anything because the staff have it all in hand. Overall, there really was nothing negative I can say about the day. We felt so relaxed and were able to enjoy every part of our day (which went by so fast). We only wish the day was longer. If we could do it all again we would absolutely book with Morley Hayes again. Makeney Hall was the most fantastic venue, right from us booking and me emailing with many, many questions, all the way to the wedding day and the morning after! We booked the exclusive-use package and it was amazing! All of our guests have since said what an incredible day it was and how fantastic the venue was. The food was amazing -my only issue was that I was so full from our wedding breakfast, I didn't get to try all the BBQ evening food -my parents have since teased me about this as they said the burgers were the best they'd ever had! If you're thinking about booking Makeney, do it!

Wow wow wow ... what can I say about this place. We had a Christmas wedding here and from start to finish we were amazed by how welcoming the staff was and how special we felt. From the day we booked the venue to a year later of having the wedding , Breadsall priory went above and beyond in making our wedding one to remember .From reception , to waitresses and the chief ( who’s food is unbelievable) , the wedding planner, the master of ceremonies, catering staff , bar men .... everyone treated us to kindly and made us feel so special. I want to say a big thank you to Harriett who was our wedding planner , anything I needed or worried about ... she was there sorting it and had the answers , always made the time for us if we needed it and just a great lady all round. and to James , our master of ceremonies. he truly went above and beyond his role , and was great with our two boys who are 3 & 5 spoiling them throughout and entertaining them on the day. The boys loved James and in turn that gave me one less thing to worry about on our big day , knowing James was on hand if we needed him. The guests have all said what an amazing day it was and we are delighted to have chosen Breadsall for our special day. They even went out their way to give us our own private breakfast room and private Buffett for us and our guests the next morning of the wedding. I strongly recommend Breadsall priory if you want a wedding that everyone talks about and no one forgets. Thank you so much Mr & Mrs Barlow Xxxxxxxxx

The White Hart was everything we wanted in a venue - rustic yet elegant, intimate but with plenty of space and a friendly atmosphere! The staff at the White Hart go above and beyond - from helping us with planning prep and answering all of our questions to even sending some of the cake and evening BBQ food up to our room for a late night snack once our wedding day was done. Everything ran smoothly, on time and the venue has some stunning locations for photos. The food was amazing and loved by everyone and everything is reasonably priced with some fantastic add on options (we opted for some of their light up signs, ice cream van and sweet cart!). I can’t thank the staff at White Hart enough for making our day extra special!

The Priest House were fabulous right from the start. From planning to resolving an unplanned issue on the day itself, they really did excel. Our main thanks goes to Hannah and the manager whose name we forget who stepped in to cover the day and ensure everything went to plan. Hannah was great in organising the grooms and bridal party. We had the best day ever. Its such a beautiful venue for a wedding and we were blessed with the sunshine which helped make our photographs look amazing.

I just want to say thank you so much for everything you and Cami have done and the rest of the team that helped us have the most perfect wedding day. Everything was just how I imagined it and more! Thankyou Sarah for always taking the time to make sure anything we asked was done & answering any questions I had straight away, we felt so confident that you and Cami would help make the day go smoothly. Cami was also so attentive before and on the wedding day, a big thankyou to her also for always checking we had eaten, for the pizza in our room at the end of the evening (which was very much appreciated) and for making the day run smoothly and generally being there to ensure everything was as we wanted it. The DJ was superb, he played what we asked for and was so friendly and had all our guests dancing til 1am!! We were really pleased with him! All the food was beautiful on the day (or so we are told by guests lol) and they were impressed with their rooms, breakfast & the friendly staff. All in all it really was a lovely day and that is down to you and all the staff. We really cannot thankyou enough for all your attentiveness, the day would not of been as good as it was if we had not chosen to have our Venue with yourselves. Thankyou so so much!

My son James and his beautiful bride Katie had the most incredible wedding on 21st Sep 2024. Even the sun came out for a wonderful service outside. The venue was perfect and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. They made it a truly magical Friday & Saturday for everyone. Thank you all so much for an incredible weekend. Perfect ❤️

We chose this beautiful hotel for our wedding as it is so grand and has so much character. The rooms for our ceremony and receptions were lovely and really added to making our wedding day extra special. The staff are friendly and the food is lovely. The bridal suite was amazing!! Our wedding organiser Mel was brill, so easy to chat to and offered lots of advise and was always available if we had any queries. We looked at quite a few venues that offered very little for the money they wanted. We got so much more for our money at The Palace.

From the moment we viewed Shottle Hall we fell in love with the venue. The Hall and the grounds are absolutely stunning, and it was great having so much space available to us. Niamh was absolutely fantastic from the very first interaction and nothing was too much. She answered every single question we had and made sure our day went perfectly. We are so grateful to all the staff at Shottle (especially Niamh and Daniella) for going above and beyond and making our day so special. The food was incredible and all of our guests went away very full! We would highly recommend Shottle to anyone looking for a venue for their special day :)
