Wedding Venues in Dorchester

Minterne House was our wild card wedding venue but we knew as soon as we drove up the drive that it was the one. Emily made us feel so relaxed and was incredibly helpful at recommending suppliers. The venue is a showstopper and came with the added bonus of being able to host friends and family in onsite accommodation. It meant the world to have friends who’d flown in stay close by and experience the Dorset countryside in all its glory. We’re already planning on booking out an onsite cottage for our wedding anniversary! The day was absolute perfection - thank you Emily and the Minterne House team!

It was brilliant working with all the staff at Kingston Maurward, especially Danielle who was amazing, organised, fun to work with and nothing was too much trouble. The whole wedding (suppliers booked through KM) was excellent value for money and I highly recommend.

Our Big day couldn’t have been any better. From initial meeting with Lyndsey we knew that this is the best place for our wedding reception. Everything was meticulously planned and timed on the day. There was nothing that Lyndsey and her Team couldn’t do, any changes and special arrangements were easily accommodated. The food was great and we had a wide range of choices on the menu. The hotel is located in the most beautiful area and is within walking distance of the beach. We would recommend the Manor House Hotel for your wedding reception.

We had a perfect day from start to finish, which we know is what everyone hopefully says about their wedding day but there really aren't enough words to say how amazing Karmacations is. We are both second timers when it comes to weddings so wanted a nice relaxing day with friends and family. We first came across Kitty and Karmacations in January 2024 on a typical cold wintry day and even then could see the potential of it as a venue even though it had only just had approval for weddings. Fast forward to April 2026 and there aren't enough words or photos that can do it justice. All our guests said how stunning it was and our photographers, said it would definitely be in their top 5 of locations across the world. From Day 1 Kitty was brilliant, plenty of dialogue, whats app messages and suggestions back and forth. We knew roughly what we wanted and she was always on hand with suggestions and ideas, but was never pushy like some venues can be. We were able to have regular visits over the 2 years and had free reign over our suppliers, there was no pressure to go with any one specific. In the week before once the marquee went up we were able to be hands on and visit as often as we wanted in order to help dress the marquee. Kitty has a great eye for detail and ideas on how to dress the tables which we were grateful for as arranging vases and place settings is absolutely not a skill we possess if we want it to look nice and not like a bunch of toddlers have been let loose. Kitty's gardens are absolutely stunning, there are deer, pheasants, foxes, badgers and rabbits which you can sit and watch with a cup of tea from the bungalow that you stay in. At one point after the barn owl flew over in the early morning we half expected to see seven dwarfs coming marching up the path accompanied by bluebirds to help with the day. The day itself was so chilled, no stress and Kitty was on hand the entire time, always in the background making sure that everything was running as it should. At one point we did manage to get her on the dance floor as we wanted her to feel like a guest rather than just the owner of the venue. A number of people have asked us if we can do it again and a few couples were heard wondering if they could book it for vow renewals. A big shout out to Dikes of Stalbridge who did the catering and ran the bar for us, food was all freshly made, there was plenty of it and the staff behind the bar were great. One Thousand Words photography also fantastic, really looking forward to seeing the photos in a few weeks time. Kitty has a beautiful home and gardens and is rightly very proud of them and we feel very privileged that we were able to get married there. We were so excited when we booked the Kings Arms. The events space is so beautiful, the food is out of this world and the staff are all so considerate and helpful.

We hired the garden and Marquee; the weather did help as this was a beautiful place to get married, rooms were clean and comfortable food was amazing.

Simon and Sarah + the whole team were accommodating and professional. They made the whole day, set up and clean down so easy. Our day was perfect, the venue is beautiful and amazing for children, completely safe for them to run around, goats, a soft play bus, lawn games . Thank you for a lovely wedding x
