Marshwood Manor is a boutique estate in West Dorset, England. A unique setting where rustic romance meets Victorian elegance. Immerse yourself in the magic of this exclusive-use, weekend or one-day wedding venue, with picturesque locations, fabulous facilities, and luxury onsite accommodation.
Facilities and Capacity
Say your vows in Marshwood Manor's breathtaking woodland bower, a magical space located in the heart of private ancient woodland. Your guests will cross the stream via the living bridge and be seated in a mystical amphitheatre, an idyllic spot for a romantic outdoor ceremony. This is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and can accommodate up to 80 seated guests and over 60 standing guests.
The Victorian brick hay barn is a bright space, with a high, vaulted ceiling and huge doors opening onto a glass-roofed terrace. It is suitable for ceremonies for up to 120 guests and dining for up to 80 and provides an exceptional blank canvas for your own style of decoration.
If you’re planning a festival-style wedding, the hay meadow is a perfect choice. There is plenty of space for a marquee for up to 250 guests, so you can celebrate al fresco in the heart of the stunning vale. This option is available after harvest in August.
Finally, the graveled Courtyard is an elegant space for a wedding. The raised Dais is ideal for a unique outdoor ceremony in the round. This area can also be used for your band, DJ, outdoor bar or a cosy fire-pit area. The courtyard has the capacity for over 250 guests, making it perfect for larger celebrations.
Services Offered
The Marshwood Manor team includes a wedding coordinator to help your wedding day proceed seamlessly. Five private cottages are included and at your disposal for the duration of your celebrations, providing luxury onsite accommodation for 26 people before and after your wedding day.

Amazing venue
We recently spent a full weekend there, and the magic really lies in the fact that you aren't just renting a room—you’re inheriting a private estate for three days.
The "Big Weekend" Experience
The Friday Settle-In: There is something so special about arriving on Friday afternoon and moving into the luxury cottages. Instead of a rushed rehearsal, we had a relaxed pizza night in the courtyard. By the time the wedding morning came, everyone felt settled, calm, and truly "at home."
The "Secret Garden" Ceremony: Walking through the woods to the Woodland Bower felt like stepping into a fairytale. Crossing the bridge over the stream creates this incredible natural "aisle" that left our guests speechless. It’s intimate, cool under the trees, and smells like wild earth and pine.
The Flow of the Day: The transition from the woods to the sun-soaked courtyard for drinks, and then into the the marquee for dinner, felt completely organic. You never feel "herded" from one room to another; the venue breathes with your party.
The Late-Night Luxury: After the party wound down, being able to walk just a few steps to a high-end, comfortable bed (rather than a shuttle bus to a hotel) was a game changer. Waking up on Sunday for a slow brunch with our closest family before heading home was the perfect "final chapter."
My Takeaway
Marshwood Manor is for the couple who wants to prioritize time. Because you have the venue for the whole weekend, the "wedding day blur" doesn't happen. You actually get to talk to your guests, walk the grounds, and breathe. It’s soulful, wildly beautiful, and felt entirely ours.
