Minterne House is an incredibly special place, and we wouldn’t have wanted to choose anywhere else to get married. The house itself is beautiful, especially the dining hall, and we had our ceremony and receptions on the lawn and in the gardens after they closed to the public. We finished the evening with fireworks overlooking the lake. The team at Minterne were helpful throughout planning, coming up with lots of suggestions to embellish the day and also being very on top of the details. On the day itself, everything ran smoothly because of Ella’s organisation and assistance! We couldn’t recommend Minterne House more highly for your wedding!

Minterne House was our wild card wedding venue but we knew as soon as we drove up the drive that it was the one. Emily made us feel so relaxed and was incredibly helpful at recommending suppliers. The venue is a showstopper and came with the added bonus of being able to host friends and family in onsite accommodation. It meant the world to have friends who’d flown in stay close by and experience the Dorset countryside in all its glory. We’re already planning on booking out an onsite cottage for our wedding anniversary! The day was absolute perfection - thank you Emily and the Minterne House team!

Minterne House was everything we dreamt of from a venue. From start to finish, it was the most personalised and bespoke experience and the day was absolutely incredible. Emily and her team are complete pros and ran the day perfectly. We would highly recommend the venue to anyone thinking of Minterne for their wedding day. Our wedding at Minterne House was everything we imagined and more – the venue was truly a period drama lover’s dream! From start to finish, Emily was like a wedding angel. She made the whole experience far easier than we ever imagined, overseeing every detail with such care and patience. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and she guided us through our indecision so calmly, helping the day run perfectly. We’ll be forever grateful to Emily for making this such a positive experience for us.

With the venue itself, there are endless opportunities for beautiful photos, both inside and out, and every space feels special - a sentiment echoed by all of our guests. Having multiple ceremony options made such a difference too, as we never had to worry about the weather, knowing it would be stunning whatever we chose.

We are so grateful to the family for opening their home and allowing us to experience and appreciate all of its beauty. Minterne House is truly a magical wedding venue and will always hold a very special place in our hearts.

As a family we were exceptionally impressed with the whole wedding experience offered by Minterne right from the first meeting more than a year in advance of the big day. Over the next year the communication and organisation were faultless. Minterne work in partnership with a small group of trusted providers which gave us significant confidence in what would be and indeed was provided. For example, my daughter was marrying a Muslim doctor and this necessitated the food being halal. The catering company had the ability to source high quality ingredients making this element a huge success.
There is no doubt Minterne has the wow factor and our friends and family reflected this in their feedback with many saying they had not been to a more spectacular setting. One of the attractions for us was availability of rooms on site that allowed close family to stay for two nights (up to eight rooms) with the option for hiring other buildings on the estate if so desired. The quality of the breakfasts offered both on the morning of the wedding and the day after were very good.
The actual day itself was fantastic and ran so smoothly. The summer of 2025 was a fine one but sadly this did not extend into the early part of September. Although we had initially hoped to have the ceremony on the lawn overlooking the lake, the fact we had the ceremony in the main building did not detract one bit from the overall experience. We felt very guided and supported during the day and all the suppliers were excellent. We also welcomed the option of providing our own drinks (as long as we disposed of the empty bottles the next day.
In summary as a family we could not recommend Minterne too highly. Our gut feeling that the setting would provide something special was proved to be correct and the support and organisation during the actual weekend was consistent with this too.

Minterne House was the most extraordinary setting for our wedding in May! The historic home and the beautiful gardens truly set the tone that we desired for our special day. We stayed in the house for a few days and it was so amazing to wake up in the gorgeous bedrooms; our extended family also stayed in the cottages on the property and raved about them. In addition, the staff was incredibly helpful and responsive; we are from New York City and they made planning from abroad very easy. I HIGHLY recommend Minterne House for a wedding, our guests were blown away and we will never forget our special day at the home.

We cannot recommend Minterne House enough as a perfect wedding venue! Emily and the team were so so helpful from start to finish, from the first call we had with her we just knew how great she was going to be to work with! Throughout the wedding weekend she was there for anything we needed and we truly know our weekend would not have gone as perfectly and smoothly as it did without Emily!
Minterne is such a gorgeous venue, we have had endless compliments from our guests about how beautiful a backdrop the house is for a wedding weekend. Having the house to yourself for the full weekend meant we could start the celebrations early on Friday with all of our guests, and we had so many of our loved ones staying in the house and on the grounds.
It really was a perfect weekend and we can't thank Emily, The Digby family and the whole team and Minterne enough !!!

As a Minterne Magna girl myself, I truly couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. Our day was an absolute dream from start to finish. Honestly couldn’t recommend Minterne house enough from start to finish they were perfect, I felt at ease with Emily from the off and she helped plan our day and sorted timelines and dealt with our vendors for us which helped to ease the stress.Our day truly was our fairly tail and more and the bonus feeling like a princess having private use of the house the whole weekend. The grounds and venue have given us the most perfect photos and memories to treasure forever and all our guest couldn’t believe how beautiful it all was.

Minterne House was the perfect backdrop to our fairytale autumn wedding. Having the venue for the entire weekend made the experience truly special — many of our family and friends were able to stay, and we spent the Friday setting up together before relaxing and enjoying the beautiful facilities of the estate, including the pool, hot tub, and gardens. That evening we shared dinner and drinks, which made it feel as though the celebrations had already begun.

Minterne House is a beautiful venue, the grounds, the house itself, the history. What made it so much more was Emily and the team. Emily was our wedding planner on the day and went above and beyond to make our day seamless. Our day, from start to finish was faultless and we could not of done it without her. The first time we visited Minterne House it was a miserable rainy day in January - despite the weather we knew it was perfect.

The house is absolutely breathtaking and steeped in history, but still has a comforting homely feel.

We took advantage of the beautiful interior and had our wedding breakfast inside. The high ceilings and double height windows made it feel beautifully open and airy. With 90 guests it felt wonderfully intimate at the same time. We took advantage of the balcony and staircase to make an entrance into our wedding breakfast, which felt incredibly unique.

The reception rooms and front lawn are both perfect options for the drinks reception, so whether it’s sunny or rainy it’s utterly perfect.

Along with using the main house we also had guests in Lady Jane’s Apartment and Churchill House. Both are beautifully designed (with extremely comfortable beds) and have everything you could wish for - including rather delicious biscuits!

The whole team were incredibly accommodating, Lord Digby was always on hand for the duration of our stay - whether it be wifi or heating questions.

Finally, our day wouldn’t have been as spectacular without the phenomenal support of Emily (Emily Rose Wedding and Events), Minterne House’s Wedding Planner. From liaising with all of our suppliers, to setting up our time plan, to answering all of our questions in the lead up she was just incredible.

On the day it felt like having a friend guide us through the various moments and make sure all was on track.

Everything was completely perfect and we couldn’t have wished for a better day with a better team!

The most stunning venue and gardens this location truly is magical and we had the best wedding day here with the sun shining surrounded by stunning countryside views. The grounds are beautiful and the house is so smart it really is something special. We stayed in the flat within the house and it was so clean and spacious it had everything we needed and so handy for the big day. The bridal suite was gorgeous with even more beautiful views across the gardens and lawn felt like something from a period drama! The wedding planner Emily was amazing and so helpful from start to finish professional and friendly. She was straight back to us when we needed her and made sure everything was perfect for us. We had an incredible experience and just want to do it all over again now! Guests and friends have commented on how amazed they were by the venues beauty and uniqueness and the day as a whole, it was seamless. Wish we could do it all over again! Thank you
