Shocking response to Covid wedding cancellation
My daughter had a wedding booked for August 2020 and paid £1,000 deposit as per the Kingston Maurward T&Cs. Unfortunately, the event could not proceed due to the Covid pandemic. Kingston Maurward offered to change the wedding arrangements to a future date but after considering the implications and money already lost through various bookings, travel and accommodation, it was decided not to rearrange a wedding at the venue.Sent on 03/08/2020
Kingston Maurward flatly refused to refund any of the £1,000 deposit that was paid over a year ago and repeatedly quoted the clauses within the contract. In essence we have paid £1,000 for the privilege of holding two meetings (approx 2 hours in total) to discuss very broad wedding plans, over 6-12 months ago. Despite written requests, KM have been completely unsympathetic in offering even a partial refund, even though it would not have been possible for them to provide the wedding that was intended, due to Covid. They have justified keeping the £1,000 ' to cover administration and related expenses.' within the terms of the contract. They have repeatedly rebuffed any and all requests for any kind of refund and have quoted back clauses within the contract that don’t even apply in this instance.
I would NOT recommend this establishment to anyone who is planning a wedding, due to the behaviours and attitude of the Management and would strongly recommend T&Cs are thoroughly read and understood before committing anything to KM, who clearly are not prepared to waver from the terms of the Contract, even in the unprecedented times of Covid.

We just wanted to say thank you so much for the most amazing day. You were brilliant beforehand and especially on the day. It went just as we had imagined it. The venue looked beautiful and we were so lucky to have gorgeous weather too!Sent on 07/12/2018

My Wife and i got Married here on the 29th Sep. I can't recommend this venue enough if you're planning a wedding/civil ceremony.Sent on 10/10/2018
For the price of hiring the venue vs. the amount of fatalities available to you we couldn't find anywhere better in Dorset.
The staff who arrange everything were very professional (thank you Danielle, Amy & all your staff) and on the day it all went off without a hitch.
