The King's Arms boasts the historic Casterbridge Room, named in honor of Thomas Hardy, who wrote much of The Mayor of Casterbridge in this light-filled, stylish room with its beautiful bow windows. This intimate space offers comfortable furnishings for welcome drinks and features a blend of poetic and elegant decor, including paintings and carpets. The room is warmly lit by vintage lamps and colorful pendant lights, accommodating up to 35 people seated or up to 60 standing on your special day.

Additionally, we have the beautifully decorated Old Smoking Room, which complements the Casterbridge Room's aesthetic. Couples can choose to hire both rooms for their special day, allowing for additional space for reception drinks and canapés while we transform the Casterbridge Room from ceremony to wedding breakfast. We also offer the Casterbridge Room for ceremony-only events at a reduced price.
