Nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside, Aldwark Manor is a breathtaking wedding venue with a rich history and timeless elegance. Originally commissioned in 1865 by Lord Walsingham as a wedding gift for his eldest daughter, this stunning estate has since been lovingly transformed into a luxurious country retreat—perfect for an unforgettable wedding celebration.

Facilities & Capacity

In 2019, Aldwark Manor entered private ownership for the first time in 25 years, sparking a sympathetic and meticulous restoration. As you approach through the country lanes, you’re greeted by restored stone columns and your first glimpse of the charming red-brick manor, surrounded by 210 acres of parkland and a championship 18-hole golf course.

The estate’s grandeur continues as you step inside through oak doors into a marbled reception hall, where a five-metre chandelier illuminates your arrival. Couples can choose from three exquisite event spaces for their ceremony and wedding breakfast:

  • The Walsingham – Seats up to 100 guests, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with silk drapes, glittering chandeliers, air conditioning, and direct access to the elegant Walsingham Garden.

  • The Barnes Wallis – Ideal for intimate gatherings of up to 70 guests, with mirrored walls, views of the river and lawns, and a roaring fireplace for cosy winter ceremonies.

  • The Ladybower – A versatile space with a private bar, outdoor terrace, and statement lighting, perfect for larger celebrations of up to 160 guests.

Our Wedding Day

Both myself and my Husband agree that Aldwark Manor was the right choice for our wedding ceremony and venue. We went for the All Exclusive package which was worth every penny. As part of the package we opted for fireworks which were sensational and made our day so special. The staff at Aldwark are all so friendly and professional, and you are made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Our Wedding co-ordinator Kim was amazing too, keeping in regular contact and making sure everything was sorted so that on the day the wedding went smoothly and stress free. The day we got married was one of the hottest days of the year and there was a really bad downpour in the morning but this didn't spoil the day. The food was exceptional and there was some lovely options to choose from for the wedding meal. The hog roast in the evening also went down very well! In addition we hired our own magician (the Yorkshire magician) and also the magic selfie mirror hosted by mimi events which oyr guests loved!

We had a fantastic wedding and so did our guests and we would wholeheartedly recommend Aldwark Manor not just as a wedding venue but also as a very relaxing and enjoyable place to stay.

Unforgettable day, wonderful service from Megan

Our amazing wedding was on 24th August 2017 and our wedding coordinator was the lovely Megan.
Megan was always very professional yet approachable throughout the whole process, and was always easily contactable about any query big or small. I was allowed to drop things off a couple of days, and the day before the wedding which was a massive help, and Megan let me see the room the night before to make sure everything was as we expected.

Although we had some teething problems with the menu tasting during planning, Megan sorted this out for us and we could not fault the service on the day.
The food was delicious, the venue looked beautiful, and Megan ran the day seamlessly, taking all of the stress away from us.
There are some fabulous photo opportunities in the grounds of Alwark Manor and Megan even organised a golf buggy for some silly shots which was a great laugh!

On a slightly separate note, it would have made life a bit easier if when our rooms the night before the wedding (my parents in one room and my sister & I in another) were allocated, we had been placed anywhere near the ceremony room. I ended up getting ready in my parent's room which was slightly closer, so that I did not have to walk the length of the hotel (we had been placed at the very far end, on the second floor above the spa end), to get to the ceremony room, as I did not want to be seen my all of our guests coming down to the ceremony.

Our perfect day

We got married at Aldwark Manor on 28th July and cannot recommend it highly enough. This is due in the main to the fantastic service that Kim provides. From our first meeting, it was clear that Aldwark Manor was the ideal place for our wedding. Kim put us at ease straight away reassuring me that our small and intimate wedding was not as unusual as other venues had led us to believe.
Kim was fabulous throughout the whole lead up to the wedding, answering all my questions and emails in a confident and timely manner. All the vendors and services recommended were also amazing. It was such a pleasure to deal with her and we were thrilled that she was our coordinator on the big day.
The day itself was faultless, Kim organised us with precision, no mean feat with 7 wayward children in attendance!
All of the staff at Aldwark Manor were amazing throughout our stay, friendly and approachable, guests also noticed and appreciated this.
It is a beautiful venue and the care and attention Kim gave to us and our wedding party was second to none. I really cannot praise and recommend Kim enough, she was a superstar throughout.

Perfect wedding

We cannot thank Kim and the team at Aldwark Manor enough for our perfect wedding day. Everything went to plan and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The food was also amazing. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Wedding 26th August 2017

A big thank you to everyone at Aldwark that helped to look after us and our guests and make our day really special.
Everything ran really smoothly and was beautiful, the food was great and please also pass on my thanks to the hog roast caterers and DJ, everyone commented on how nice it was and how the music was on point!
The venue is beautiful and it almost felt like we had the whole venue to ourselves.
We had a fantastic day despite it flying by in the blink of an eye, I couldn't of imagined having our reception anywhere else, I will be definitely recommending Aldwark to others.

Perfect wedding venue

A huge Thankyou to Karen, Megan and the rest of the staff at aldwark manor for making our wedding day last week the most amazing perfect day I could ever have wished for. From the very beginning when we first looked round to the end checking out as mr & mrs the service has been outstanding. Karen our wedding coordinator throughout the planning stages was fantastic, so friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome each time we came in to see her. On the big day we had Megan as our wedding coordinator, she went above and beyond to make sure our day ran smoothly and that everybody was happy. The food was a definite 10/10 from all of our guests we had some great comments in particular about the beef. The venue looked amazing with all the decor and Megan even let me have a little trial table run the night before to make sure I was happy with how everything would be set out. I would recommend aldwark manor to any future brides and grooms for there special day. Look forward to returning for special occasions. Love from Mr & Mrs Newcombe xx

Dream wedding, fantastic venue!

Everyone at Aldwark Manor are superstars. Kim and Megan supported us throughout the wedding; they really go above and beyond. We wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You have played a massive part of our dream day. Your help and support enabled all our dreams to come true on Friday the 11th of August.

We are so pleased we booked your service for our big day! Nothing was any trouble and you really supported us to have a spectacular day. You provided a professional and exceptional service which we are so very greatful of. We were put at ease right from booking the venue through till the bar closing. Nothing seemed any hassle and you always remained calm throughout which is always a bonus!

Thank you for answering all my troubles and emails along the way. You both really go out the way to ensure all is going to plan. I was so pleased to be able to decorate and put our unique touch on things throughout the whole day.

The whole day ran so smoothly and we would highly recommend your services to anyone else. We honestly had an amazing time which was only made complete from your amazing services.

Great wedding venue

We got married at Aldwark Manor and cannot sing their praises highly enough.
I wish I could mention every wonderful member of staff by name, but there are a key couple I'd like to mention.
Karen was our wedding co-ordinator and looked after us from the get go, she never gave us the impression that we were being awkward or difficult, everything was always a pleasure. She acted as intermediary between us and other suppliers as required, helping us resolve things when plans changed. Everything was in place and despite being a bit of a control freak myself I had no worries that the day would run smoothly.
On the day we were looked after by Kim, who I also can't say enough about. It's thanks to Kim that everything ran smoothly, she got us where we needed to be when we needed to be there, and was calm and efficient when we misplaced guests (and at one point a bridesmaid and a best man). Kim came and collected me from my room for the ceremony and was the last woman standing at the end of the night so huge thanks to her and her team.
Aldwark is a lovely venue with a selection of rooms in use throughout the day, the wedding breakfast was really lovely.
All in all, thank you so much to all the staff who helped everything run smoothly and make our day even more special.

The Perfect Day

My husband and I got married at Aldwark Manor on the 15th April 2017 and it was the most amazing and perfect day. From the very first time we drove down the drive to hotel we knew we loved the venue and its beautiful grounds. Kim, our wedding coordinator made us feel so relaxed and at ease when it came to planing every detail of the big day. When the big day arrived the venue looked stunning and even the weather was perfect !! Megan was our wedding coordinator for the wedding day and she went above and beyond from the moment we arrived to the minute we checked out to ensure the day was everything we had imagined and more. The whole team of staff, both front and back of house were fantastic, polite, approachable and all worked hard to ensure that our day ran according to plan. The food for both the breakfast and the buffet was delicious and all of our guests commented on how lovely it was (the hot-dogs at midnight were a definite winner). From the reassuring phone calls the week before to designing the cheese tower to looking after our dog, we cannot thank the whole team enough for all of their hard work in making our day so perfect. We would definitely recommend Aldwark to any future bride and grooms for their special day.

Our Wedding

A lot of people say their wedding day was stressful and sometimes not enjoyable because of it. For us, it was the opposite and we have no doubts that it was because of the team at Aldwark Manor.

On our wedding day, we were able to leave all of it to the team. Everything was in hand from start to finish. Every detail was handled to our pre-requests. We had no worries and everything started with Kim - our wedding manager. My biggest regret: not resting more on her and on her experience, She was very attentive to our requests and didn't seem bothered to go the extra mile for us. Nothing was ever too much or too detailed. she took the time to go through everything with us. She always had the time for us. And when she went above and beyond for us, we knew we were in safe hands, and we did well to choose Aldwark Manor as our wedding venue: Kim helped us and was so flexible when we were falling apart. We got the support and help we are sure we wouldn't have had anywhere else.

On the day, everything run smoothly. Not a hiccup. The team at Aldwark Manor orchestrated everything with so much professionalism. We never had to worry or stress, just enjoyed our families and friends.

We Will always remember our wedding day as a fond memory. Our guests still talk to us about the venue, the cocktail and the amazing canapés, the service, and the rooms.

If it was to do again, would we do it at Aldwark Manor again? Absolutely yes, without a shadow of a doubt.

Perfect day.

We got married here on the 8th of April 2017, and everything was wonderful. We had various meetings with Kim and when we were finalising the details, we got everything we wanted. Nothing was too small. I'm teetotal and didn't think I would be able to get an alternative but I did! I had Appletiser in a champagne glass, and it was topped up all day. All our requirements were met. The canapés went down a treat and the wedding breakfast was delicious. All the staff who helped with our wedding on the day were amazing! Plenty of smiles and so polite, again nothing was too big to sort out. When the speeches were over, we were then allowed to enjoy the room, without feeling pressured to leave it so they could sort the evening do out. The evening buffet was grand and the DJ did a fantastic job of creating a playlist with the genres we requested. The rooms were lovely! All the staff were fantastic, and it was so nice of them to congratulate us the next day when they saw us all at breakfast. The hospitality went right up until we both left the Manor. Kim was fantastic at sorting everything out and ensuring that our requests were met,a big thank you to her! And last but not least, a big thank you to Megan. Who worked through the night to place our centrepieces, and who ensured the day ran so smoothly. Her calmness and smile was infectious. We were exceptionally happy with our wedding day here! Highly recommend.

Stunning

We got married here on the 28th August 2016. The day was absolutely magical. The venue is stunning and everything ran like clockwork on the day. The food was brilliant and our guest raved about the evening buffet. The whole process of planning everything was made so easy and stress free thanks to Kim who is amazing. Without her and the team I don't think everything would have run so smoothly. We highly recommend this venue if your thinking about having your wedding here and the grounds and inside the venue make beautiful pictures. We are looking forward to visiting again for our anniversary!

Kimpossible

We got married here on the 19th August 2016 I couldn't have imaged the wedding being as beautiful as it actually was it was just perfection the day ran so smoothly and the guests said it was the best wedding they've been too it really wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for Kim who helped me so much the things I forgot to do name placement cards and table plan in neat she surprised me the day of the wedding with them Kim really did make planning the wedding so much easier she's so friendly and made us feel like her friend and that we could count on her. She also knew we were wanting entertainment for the day guests she told us about a band called colour blue so we did a little research and we were instantly sold. My husband and I as having wedding blues as we want to do it all over again so I'd definite recommend. Aldwark Manor as its a beautiful venue and the grounds are just beautiful and all the staff were amazing at helping create our perfect wedding day (If planning your wedding at Aldwark Manor I definitely recommend Kim as I couldn't and wouldn't want to imagine anyone else plan our wedding)

The hotel is very beautiful

We recently held our wedding at Aldwark Manor and it really was perfect. The hotel itself is very beautiful, well decorated, spacious and well-kept grounds with excellent photo opportunities both inside and out. We had our ceremony and wedding breakfast in the Walsingham Suite. It feels intimate yet grand, with a large chandelier and traditional fireplace. The garden outside the Walsingham Suite provided a private area for photos, drinks and canapes but. In the evening we used the larger and more modern Marston Suite. The wedding co-ordinator, Kim, was excellent from the start. She listened to our ideas and really understood what we wanted for our day. She really went out of her way to make the day as perfect as possible. The staff all worked extremely hard and with real enthusiasm to ensure our day was special. Everybody commented on how delicious the food was, We had an afternoon tea wedding breakfast, all homemade and truly delicious! The melt in your mouth scones were still warm from the oven and the mountains of miniature cakes on stands were simply beautiful. The bridal suite, room 315 was incredible. This gave the photographer some stunning shots of my dress and provided lots of light for getting ready. It was lovely to have a venue where most of our guests could stay.. We cannot thank the team at Aldwark for making our day so perfect, we really are so grateful!

Kimpossible

Me and my husband as having wedding blues as we wanna do it all over again so I'd definite recommend.
