Hi everyone, I’m Mark Greatbatch, and for nearly 20 years, I’ve had the absolute privilege of being part of thousands of wedding days helping couples celebrate one of the biggest days of their lives.

In that time, I’ve overseen just shy of 3,000 events each one unique, each one special and throughout it all, my role has always been about one thing: making sure the day runs smoothly so you can simply enjoy it.

Now, for many years, that meant being a Toastmaster or Master of Ceremonies the traditional figure in the red coat, guiding guests, announcing entrances, and keeping the day flowing. But over the last few years, I’ve noticed a real shift.

Weddings have changed. Couples are looking for something a little more relaxed… more personal… less formal yet still organised and seamless. And that’s where my new approach as a Wedding Host comes in. Think of it as having all the professionalism, planning, and structure of a Toastmaster but with a softer edge. It’s still about coordination, timing, and communication… but it’s also about personality, connection, and creating the right atmosphere for your day.

As a Wedding Host, I’m still there to make sure everything happens when it should that suppliers are ready, speeches run smoothly, and the day flows perfectly but without the formality that some people now feel doesn’t quite fit their style of celebration. I’ll work closely with you before the day to understand your tone, your guests, and what really matters to you.

On the day itself, I’m your calm presence, your communicator, your organiser and the person who quietly makes sure everything just… works.

So, if you’ve ever thought, “We love the idea of someone managing the day, but a traditional Toastmaster feels too formal for us,” that’s exactly why I’ve evolved my role. It’s not about losing tradition it’s about adapting it. It’s about keeping everything that works the structure, the confidence, the professionalism and blending it with warmth, personality, and modern style.

After almost two decades and nearly 3,000 events, I’ve learned one thing above all every wedding deserves someone who truly understands your vision of the perfect day. Whether you call me a Toastmaster, a Master of Ceremonies, or a Wedding Host my job is simple: to make sure your day runs beautifully.

As a member of The Society of London Toastmasters, I bring a wealth of experience to celebrations. My expertise and planning skills will help you orchestrate a seamless, stress-free, and sophisticated event.

Having looked after in excess of 1600 events in a little over 15 years, I bring an unrivalled level of experience and expertise to the planning, coordination and execution to your day.

I believe that communication is the key to any great event, and I will work with you in order to ensure it is one you will never forget; whilst working closely with the team at your chosen venue on the day, you will be able focus on enjoying your day without any worries.

Being a valued tradition at British weddings, providing a classical sense of occasion, and a trusted point of contact; a professionally trained and experienced Toastmaster can make the world of difference to your Wedding or event.

The experience and organisation you and your event will gain from a Toastmaster will guarantee an unparalleled level of efficiency and ensure the day runs as planned by liaising with vendors that may be present on the day.

A Toastmaster's presence can distinguish your wedding from others and can present in many different forms. From a relaxed, easygoing, yet reliable individual with the ability to generate an atmosphere, you will never forget the traditional, ceremonial British Pomp; only a highly experienced Toastmaster can blur those lines and tailor their approach to your day.

Unbeknown to your guests, they will take away the worry and pressure of hoping a friend, relative or restaurant manager will carry out the role of the before mentioned. Trust your special day to the professional!

Discreet and efficient, if unforeseen problems arise, they are dealt with, often without the bride or bridegroom ever needing to know. It will give you peace of mind knowing you are entrusting your wedding day to the expert who knows exactly how you have planned your day to look and feel.

​I will be delighted to provide my Professional Toastmasters service for: weddings of all faiths, cultures, communities and civil partnerships.

In addition, I am experienced in and pleased to officiate at:

  • corporate dinners and dinner dances

  • civic luncheons and banquets

  • masonic ladies festivals

  • birthdays, anniversaries

  • awards ceremonies, conferences

  • sports club annual dinners

  • Official openings or a product launch

This is what you can expect from me, as your Event Host, Toastmaster or Master of Ceremonies:

  • I will meet with you at your home, reception venue or on a Zoom call to discuss your requirements. I will want to know every single detail of your day, that way, you have confidence that I fully understand how your day looks.

  • Once booked, I am contactable by text, phone or email, for advice and reassurance, right up to the day.

  • On the day, I will work alongside your reception venue management team, caterers, photographer and/or videographer and other vendors to ensure that your needs and timings are met and, of course, that your day happens the way you have planned it.

  • I will meet and receive your guests, welcoming them with any necessary information regarding the venue and/or the arrangements for your reception.

  • Organise your Receiving Line (if required) and the formal entry into the Wedding Breakfast.

  • Carry out Announcements, including the cutting of your Wedding Cake & your Speeches.

  • Assist with any presentations and ensure that all the presents and bouquets are available when needed.

    I can also:

  • Discuss options with you; many things are possible, and with 17 years of experience, I can discuss with you and advise on any themes or happenings you want to take place on your special day.

  • If my Red tailcoat is too formal for you, then I am happy to wear a black tailcoat, dinner suit or lounge suit.

  • ​For Civil Ceremonies and Partnerships taking place at the same venue as your reception, I will also work with your reception venue to ensure that your guests are seated in your ceremony room at the correct time.​

We couldn’t have asked for a better toastmaster than Mark. He assisted us at Harlaxton Manor in November 2025. He was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Everything ran smoothly thanks to his calm professionalism and impeccable organisation. Mark took control in all the right ways; clear, confident, and always one step ahead. Mark made our day!!!

Mark is amazing!!

We had the absolute pleasure of having Mark as our toastmaster for our wedding at Ashridge House, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. From our very first consultation, the whole process felt so smooth and stress-free. We then had a final meeting to go through every detail of the day, which gave us so much confidence knowing everything was in safe hands.

On the day itself, Mark was outstanding. He made everything run seamlessly and without a single hitch. He guided our guests to where they needed to be, made all the announcements perfectly, and co-ordinated the whole day with such professionalism and warmth. The BEST toastmaster!

We cannot thank Mark enough for the incredible job he did as our toastmaster on our wedding day. From start to finish, he brought warmth, professionalism, and a wonderful sense of calm that allowed us to fully enjoy every moment.

Simply the best!

We were so lucky to have Mark as our wedding toastmaster. From start to finish he kept everything running smoothly, coordinated perfectly with our suppliers, and made sure everyone was in the right place at the right time. Mark is a great toastmaster!

Whilst originally apprehensive, I think the inclusion of a toastmaster was essential for our Day. I have included a few pictures below, but everything you see was orchestrated by Mark, his fabulous, direct and warm communication style is exactly what we needed to make our day special. We will be forever thankful for his contributions and highly recommend him for your special day.

A wonderful guide for our entire day

Mark was so wonderful! We are so grateful we hired him for our wedding day. He made sure the day ran smoothly and so kind and helpful. All of our guests and vendors loved him and he made me and my husband feel so at ease. You need Mark!

Mark helped make our day run incredibly smoothly by keeping us on schedule and effortlessly directing guests to where they needed to be. He commands the room and can hype up the crowd with ease. Mark shows great attention to detail both in our initial planning meetings and on the day so we can have the everything running exactly as we wanted it. Well where do we even begin.. Mark was an absolute dream to have at our wedding. He made sure the whole day ran smoothly, constantly hyped up the guests, and made sure everyone knew where to be, all with a smile on his face from the beginning of the day to the end.
So many people have said to us how amazing he was and I think my 90 year old Grandma was particularly fond of him. He made such a big impact on the day that we can honestly say our wedding wouldn't have been the same without him. Can't recommend him enough for anyone who is planning a wedding. A true legend!!

Highly recommend!

Mark was outstanding in every way and we highly recommend him! From the organisation stage to the day he made sure everything was sorted! We had a meeting via zoom to discuss what we wanted ahead of booking then a planning meeting the week prior to the wedding. Mark then ran the day! He took away every stress and every worry without letting us know if there had been any blips. He coordinated with our venue and photographer to ensure the day ran smoothly. Mark also played all our music at different points of the day. He really did make our day so special and we couldn’t have done it without him! Bonus, he’s such a lovely person!

Claudia and Andrew Wedding - Gosfield Hall 18th April 2025

If you are considering getting a toastmaster or someone to help you out on the day of your wedding then look no further then Mark. He was absolutely amazing!!! Our wedding was absolutely fantastic and just flowed so brilliant as Mark was there to help out with the guests plus also with Andrew and I. Made sure all the guests were happy and knew what was happening when plus also checked on the catering with dietary requirements and changes if they needed to happen. Mark was so lovely from the time I was enquiring with the booking to the day of our wedding, so quick at replying to the messages and even questions I had leading up to and even on the day. He really made us feel at ease knowing our day was going the way it should and we could just be there to enjoy it and not worry about a thing. You will not regret booking him!!! If I could rate him more then 5 stars I would do 😁😁

A wedding must have!

I first saw Mark at my friends wedding in 2022. After seeing how professional he was I just knew that when it came to plan my own wedding, that I wanted Mark to be a part of it. If you are unsure of you even need a toastmaster at your wedding, the answer is YES! I had guests tell me that they wished they had Mark at their wedding. Mark ensures that your day runs smoothly and everyone is where they should be at the right time. Mark also ensures that everyone gets hyped up and you get the biggest/loudest entrances as the new wedded couple. Thank you Mark for everything and for helping make our day what it was.
