Ladies and gentlemen, as the father of the bride I would like to thank you all for attending today to celebrate the wedding of Louis and Sarah, and of course I would like to extend a warm welcome to Errol and Jane, Louis's parents, while at the same time welcoming my new son-in-law to this family.

For me today this has been and will be, one of the best days in any man's life, who has been fortunate enough to be blessed with a daughter.

I have so many stories to tell you about Sarah, however they are all so embarrassing for her etiquette will not allow me to repeat them today, however there is one occasion I remember.

It was May Day Celebrations in Cambridge, and all the rage for students and locals alike, was to launch themselves in a reckless and dangerous manner from the top of Magdalene Bridge into the shallow river cam. The local T V news stations had been reporting on the dangers of this almost, rite of passage, forewarning anybody brave enough to take part. Sarah was 12 years old at the time!!! When a friend asked if I had seen the Cambridge Evening Newspaper, to my initial surprise, the headline read:   MAY DAY MADNESS Followed with a front page picture of Sarah wearing nothing but a bright blue bikini in mid-flight with the historical bridge behind her on her way down to the River Cam. The story read, these teenage Daredevils Jump from the bridge into the shallow River Cam as temperatures soar to 30 degrees, Police are warning of the dangers of such reckless acts. And to be fair, I believe she has been jumping off bridges ever since. Now I would not like to think that Sarah's jumping days are over, but what I do know, when, as she has done today and takes any further daredevil leaps into the unknown, she will be caught in the very safe arms of her Husband Louis, who in the time that I have known him, has shown himself to be a Gentlemen in all he does.

As some of you will already be aware, Louis and Sarah are taking time out to travel around Thailand and Asia, for their next Adventure, where they will encounter many varied and Interesting peoples and cultures, this is also something that I have done in recent years, and today I would like to read you a few lines from a book of poems by a celebrated, American born, Buddhist poet (I P Garuda) who had taken a local Thai Hill Tribe women for his wife, who is named Lotus.

This one is titled.

TRUE LOVE One day I asked the master to speak of true love as he contemplated He looked into our eyes with unknowing kindness then he Said “True love wants nothing more than the beloved's happiness” A shiver went through my whole body. Ladies and gentlemen please raise your glasses and lets all drink to True Love and it will last an Eternity for Louis and Sarah.
