Good evening everyone. For those of you that don't know, my name is Adam and I am the very proud brother of the bride.

I would like to begin by welcoming you all, and saying a massage thank you from all of us for taking the time and effort to join us in celebrating Becky and Alex's wedding. I know some of you have made long journeys to be here today, so I hope you have a great time.

I would like to say a special thank you to those individuals that have helped make today happen, and to run as smoothly as it has so far.

When I was asked to perform this duty today, the first thought that popped into my head was the sudden realisation that I had to perform the first speech of the evening. Now this is quite a daunting task, and I'm sure there are a few gentlemen here this evening that can back me up on this.

The second thought was the dance but you'll get the opportunity to laugh at that later.

Now I believe that tradition dictates that it is at this point I share some funny and memorable stories that I have of my sister. I know Becky is particularly nervous about what I might say in this next part of my speech. But not wanting to embarrass her I shall skip over this bit.

I think many of the people here will agree with me when I say this, and that is that Becky certainly is one of a kind. I can honestly say I feel incredible lucky to have you as my sister. I can safely say I have never met anyone that is as determined, driven or as hard working as her. There have been quite a few times when she has impressed me with just how hard she will work to get what she wants in life, but I think a,ages me most, is willing she is to others.

Becky you are the most kind, caring and considerate person I think I've ever met, and I think you are a credit to this family.

Now as you can imagine, like most brothers, I'm quite protective of my sister, and I felt it was a brotherly duty to assess any potential partners that might come alone, just to make sure she doesn't settle for any old dross. But three years ago when Becky came to me asking for advice on the subject, I felt she had made the right choice.

Alex you are probably the most polite person I have ever met, and I have no doubt that you will look after Becky. So it is with great happiness that I welcome you into this family, and that I couldn't ask for a better brother in law.

Ladies and gentlemen, I feel now is a good time to wrap this up as I can see both the groom and best man are very eager to get on with they're speeches.

I do how ever have one final very pleasurable responsibility to fill.

Becky and Alex, I hope the next chapter of your life is filled with happiness and the pair of you have many fond memories.

It is my very great pleasure to propose the first toast to the happy couple. So could I ask you all to stand and raise your glass to the bride and groom.

The bride and groom!!
