Mid-Range Honeymoons: The Best Destinations For Your Budget

Honeymoon ideas for those who have a mid-range budget but still want to jet off somewhere exciting!

If you are planning your honeymoon on a comfortable budget there are several options for you to explore.

A popular choice would be Europe, with its vibrant cities, culture, and stunning architecture to admire in each destination. Or travelling further afield, the Far East offers excellent value for money along with the most unusual of places to visit and things to see.

Europe offers a vast amount of beautiful cities and exciting things to see. Being only a few hours flight away from the UK, the continent makes travelling easy and always affordable for the mid-range honeymoon seeker.

Flights operate several times a day out of the major UK airports to pretty much any major city in Europe, and once you have hit soil, transporting yourselves around via train, bike, coach or boat is generally a piece of cake.

France is full of many people’s favourite cheese and wine, so a quaint tour around the Provence Cote d’Azur region or the famous Alsace would make a wonderful short break. Alternatively, Italy and the Mediterranean islands make for a perfect honeymoon, throwing in the hot sun and fantastic beaches, along with an array of fresh seafood, wonderful breads and every pizza you could ever imagine.

If that hasn’t woken your taste buds, perhaps you would like to try your luck out in Ireland. The Guinness doesn’t only flow through Dublin out of the world famous brewery, but across the country to the city of Galway, down through County Clare and Cork, through Limerick, and even to Waterford, home of the famous crystal.

You might think it’s a long way to Tipperary, but the reality is that Ireland is just an hour flight away, and has a huge amount to offer a newly wed couple looking for an exciting mid-range honeymoon. Kissing the Blarney Stone, or joining in with some Irish dancing in the country pubs is all part of the “craic”, as they like to say.

Travelling a little further a field, Asia is one of the world’s largest continents, and is a land of a vast variety of different cultures and magnificent beaches.

It is home to an endless collection of ancient monuments, shrines and temples, and the incredible shopping, tempting cuisine and local environment really makes Asia a special place to visit.

The major hub cities such as Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpar and Hong Kong allow easy access to a lot of the smaller islands such as Bali, Phuket, Koh Samui, Pangkor Laut, and Krabi.

The service in Asia has a class of its own, and you will never be lost for things to do. The standard of hotels are above the UK average, but are a fraction of the price. Same goes for dining and transport.

Day trips and excursions can be pre-booked via your travel agent, or barter a deal once you arrive to leave your schedule free to fill when you feel like it.

Asia is a shopper’s paradise, with beautiful silks, oriental antiques and modern high-tech electrical goods at the plenty, and all reasonably priced.

Flights to the far east can be direct, or have a stop over in Europe or the middle east. The total flying time is between 12 and 14 hours, and the time difference is usually +GMT 7 or 8 hours, depending on the time of year. The friendly attitude and extraordinary culture really allows you to live beyond your means in this vibrant and exciting part of the world.

Whether or not you opt for long or short haul, a mid-range honeymoon will be fun to plan and full of excitement once you are en-route. By doing research and planning ahead, you should be able to enjoy and take in the precious first few weeks of your marriage, no matter how much your honeymoon is costing.
