Right from the first meeting we knew John was our man, he said don’t hire me if you want formal regimented photos! We loved the thought of original, spontaneous photos with fun at the heart of the day. We are mature couple, believe me being an older bride is extra nerve wracking, but John worked his magic the photos are fantastic. We absolutely loved having John with us on our special day. We booked him after our first conversation over the phone as we felt confident he would deliver exactly what we were after, and we weren't disappointed. John knew our venue well and had all the locations for great shots planned ahead to provide us with wonderful lasting memories of our day. He captured our guests enjoying themselves, the beautiful scenery of the venue as well as a variety of shots that clearly show how much fun we and everyone else had. John is the most amazing photographer, he took our vision for our day and ran with it, making it everything we dreamed of and more. He was fun, chilled and made all of our guests feel comfortable. Having worked with John for years, I always said that when I got married, he’d be the one to capture the day – and he didn’t disappoint.

From the start, the booking process was smooth, and in the lead-up, he met with us to go over our vision. His friendly and helpful approach made the whole experience so comfortable, especially for someone like me who’s not a fan of being in front of the camera.

On the big day, he was simply amazing. Not only did he capture beautiful, memorable shots, but all of our friends commented on how great he was – blending in perfectly while still keeping everything on track.

We booked John for our August wedding after I met him a wedding fayre, I just clicked with him after chatting for a bit. We met a few other photographers but we felt they treated us as just a number. With John, it was so easy to talk to him, it felt like we were mates and could chat about anything.
He put the time and effort in to meeting us at the venue a month before (he hadn’t been there before so it was great for us all) to go though what would happen on the day etc and our photo requests if we had any.
On the day he was an absolute legend, and we had so much fun taking the pictures, we are a jokey couple and felt we had the same sense of humour.
He sent us some sample pics a few days later which are stunning! We can’t wait to see the rest of the pics.

John was our photographer for our wedding at Tewinbury Farm in Hertfordshire in July 2024.

Firstly, John knows the venue very well which was of great benefit to us - he knew where to take the best shots and make lots of recommendations to us of what he could do. He took the time to meet us a couple of weeks before the wedding at the venue to run through the plan.

The weather was a little dodgy at times during the day, John was really flexible ensuring he got the right shots at the right times. He was very good at helping organise people with good humour and many of our guests remarked how fun it was when they had photos taken.

We received our photos back this week and they are brilliant - there was a lot, and he also provided many in black and white too. He took some great 'action shots' along with the more professional family shots. When we look through the photos in order it really tells a story of our day which is really nice.

I'd have no hesitation recommending John as a wedding photographer for your big day.

Take it from me...choosing a good wedding photographer is so important. When you get married if it's the first time you have no idea what you're doing! You need someone to tell you and make sure they get the shots for you.

I made a mistake the first time round picking a photographer who was inexperienced. I was so unhappy with my photos. I contacted John 6 years later as he was recommended and for nearly a year we spoke (I live other end of the country now) and he was patient and understanding as we rearranged countless dates due to the weather. He never judged me for my bonkers idea of redoing photos when everyone else did!

When we finally managed to get together, all dressed up to be married again he blew us away with his professionalism, knowledge, direction and he made us feel so comfortable. I now, finally, have the wedding photos I always dreamed of. I can't thank you enough John, no other photographer would have been so patient and supportive and the pictures are sensational. Don't make the mistake I did and book John the first time!!!

John was perfect, before, during and after the wedding! He was great at getting all the shots we wanted, and giving us great ideas as well, but also allowing us time to spend time with everyone enjoying the day. Communication was fantastic and made everything really easy. We felt so looked after and knew that John was ready for anything, rain or shine, on the day. John is a fantastic photographer who we would thoroughly recommend. We hired him as our wedding photographer after meeting him at the Tewinbury wedding fair. He impressed us with both his portfolio and his approach to understanding our requirements so he could get the type of photos we wanted. We had a walkaround at the venue with him about 1 month before the wedding to discuss preferred locations, family photos and any guest dynamics for him to be aware of. On the day there was a constant threat of rain but John was great at adapting his plan to ensure we still got all the core shots we wanted between the showers, for example doing the bridesmaid photos later on once their children were settled. He sent us some taster photos the week after the wedding which were brilliant and we are eagerly awaiting the full set once he has had chance to prepare those. Thanks again John!

John was absolutely brilliant from start to end! From our pre wedding meet-ups, our many phone calls with him, and on the day itself, he was always putting us at ease and never hesitated to answer a question. Our wedding was at Sopwell House, which John knows inside out (as I’m sure he does many other local venues) which massively helped make the day run as seamless as possible. We didn’t feel nervous at all having photos taken, whether that was just the two of us, or with our families/friends and John was always making us laugh and we were surprised by how much fun having our photos taken would be!

But most importantly of course, our photos are just amazing!! We received a full digital package with over 1200 photos which are in such high quality and also received our photo album (we paid £500 extra for this) which is just beautiful.

As an added bonus he was also super quick with sending over our photos. We got a sneak preview via social media of about 15 photos 2 days after the wedding, all our digital photos within a month, and our full printed album book less than a month later.

Please do not hesitate to book John- you won’t regret it!

We worked with John for our recent wedding and I am so very happy with not just his work, but his communication, his care and time in making sure he captured the wedding in a style that suited us. I’m not the easiest person and was adamant that there were no swings, smoke or twee shots and he totally got it! Was never offended. From our 1st meeting at his house with his lovely beagles he took time to get to know Rob and I as people rather than just a client. On the day he was so organised- we only booked half day shoot so time was precious and he was so good with the group of people he was herding!
We had our photos this week and I am sooooo pleased. They are beautiful and he’s really captured us as a couple. I cannot recommend John enough.
