Dapper Chaps Formal Wear, the multi Award Winning wedding suit company is based within the popular Martels Wedding Village, located just outside Great Dunmow in Barnston, Essex.
At dapper chaps, we pride ourselves on our attention to detail to ensure that the Groom and his party look dapper from head to toe.
From classic tail suits to modern lounge, we are here to dress you and help you achieve that perfect, personal wedding look.
We have a variety of formal shoes on offer to finish your wedding attire. From classic brogues to the more slim line shoe we are confident that we have the right footwear to complete the look you wish to achieve.
Current Trends....
A classic lounge suit incorporating a tweed waistcoat is proving very popular with our Grooms. This brings a modern twist to the classic look whilst keeping it formal. We also suggest bringing the bridesmaid colour into the neckwear to ensure that the colour theme runs through the wedding party.
On the wedding day we want our groom to look in the mirror and know that he looks and feels the best he has ever looked and has the confidence for the day ahead.
Martels Wedding Village is unique and an ideal place for couples to visit when planning their big day. We share the village with 18 other professional wedding suppliers. They put the DAPPER into our chaps!
We found this supplier by pure chance really, whilst visiting Martel's for a Mother of the Bride outfit. As soon as we walked in their display of suits just caught our eye, they had everything from the tweed we were looking for, in 3 beautiful colours, to dj's and tails etc.
The quality of the suits was superb and the service, well above and beyond.
They did not rush us and they really knew their stuff, helping us with options etc, ensuring we got what we wanted including beautiful leather shoes at an amazing price!
The suits came with everything, including cufflinks and braces. Value for money definitely!
Their service and professionalism was just incredible. No stress and we felt so reassured in everyway.
Collection and return of the suits was very easy, giving us time so we did not need to rush and the alterations were spot on.
I really can't thank them enough for all their help and guidance.

Very professional service
I would highly recommend Dapper Chaps for suit hire. From the time of enquiry they made the whole process easy. They were very knowledgeable and helpful with the choosing of suits and kept us informed on when we needed measurements and fitting. The price of hire was very reasonable. Overall very happy :)

Amazing, Highly reccomend
I would highly recommend Dapper Chaps and the Wedding shop in Martels.
From the moment we meet with Alex in the suit department, he was warm, welcoming and friendly. Alex offered fantastic advice, has great knowledge and is very proffessional. He was able to offer different options and adviced on contrast colours, shoes and little tips for the day.
Vanessa in the wedding department was also very welcoming, patient and understanding. She offered different options to alter the dress , which made my dress unique for my wedding day.
The quality of all the clothes was exceptional, as was the service from the first day to the last.

Pristine customer service and highest quality suits
Dapper Chaps helped to suit and boot myself and my groomsmen for my wedding. From get go everyone at Dapper Chaps were exceptional in their customer service and went above and beyond to help us look great on the big day. We originally planned to have a tanned suit and ended up with timeless tuxedos which looked stunning. Couldn't recommend them more.

Top Class Service
I cannot recommend dapper chaps for your wedding day enough. I went in with one request which was to look like James Bond. The guys delivered, I felt fantastic on the day in my suit and all of my groomsmen also looked brilliant. Friendly and efficient service throughout and very accommodating. Can not recommend Dapper Chaps highly enough.

Amazing service
We had an incredible experience with Dapper Chaps! The suits were absolutely lovely—sharp, stylish, and perfect for our big day. What really stood out was how accommodating and supportive the entire team was. We were having a tough time finding a shop that could cater to some difficult sizings, but Dapper Chaps went above and beyond. They ordered in special sizes just for us and even brought the groom in for additional fittings at no extra cost after some weight loss.
They also did an amazing job matching our 6-year-old to the groom, which made for such a special touch on the day. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their professionalism and kindness made the whole process completely stress-free. We can’t thank them enough!
