Dapper Chaps Formal Wear, the multi Award Winning wedding suit company is based within the popular The Essex Wedding Centre, located just outside Great Dunmow in Barnston, Essex.
At dapper chaps, we pride ourselves on our attention to detail to ensure that the Groom and his party look dapper from head to toe.
From classic tail suits to modern lounge, we are here to dress you and help you achieve that perfect, personal wedding look.
We have a variety of formal shoes on offer to finish your wedding attire. From classic brogues to the more slim line shoe we are confident that we have the right footwear to complete the look you wish to achieve.
Current Trends....
A classic lounge suit incorporating a tweed waistcoat is proving very popular with our Grooms. This brings a modern twist to the classic look whilst keeping it formal. We also suggest bringing the bridesmaid colour into the neckwear to ensure that the colour theme runs through the wedding party.
On the wedding day we want our groom to look in the mirror and know that he looks and feels the best he has ever looked and has the confidence for the day ahead.
The Essex Centre is unique and an ideal place for couples to visit when planning their big day. We share the village with 18 other professional wedding suppliers. From fitting to collection absolutely professional and the quality was unbearable. The attention to detail made the whole process easy without any concern or worry. The suits, shirts and shoes were so comfortable, looked amazing. Would highly recommend if you would like a worry free, great quality and flawless suit hire.

The team at Dapper Chaps were so helpful and considerate, they took such care to make sure that everything was perfect for our special day. From the initial consultation, which they helped guide and collaborate for what our needs and tastes were, to offering suggestions and ideas to make it that bit more unique. The team were super flexible when doing fittings, once fitting us in after hours at a showing, and even coming in whilst they were closed having a refit to accommodate. Each time they were professional, courteous and above all friendly. I would highly recommend their services, and the value for money for the quality of suits you get is also extremely reasonable. Above all else, planning a wedding is a super stressful experience, if you want to have an easy and reliable experience, go with these guys.

Great team!
We went to a few different suit shops for George’s suit but no one was really listening to what he wanted and he left feeling disheartened everytime! I told him he had to visit Alex because I knew he’d know exactly what George wanted. And I was right!! The team are so lovely, welcoming and friendly and we thank them for making George and the rest of the men look very handsome!

Superb Service with a Smile!
Alex and John really know their stuff. Great range of suit styles and colours with superb attention to detail and terrific advice about colour matching to the bridal party and overall wedding palatte. They took every care to make sure our day went as smoothly as possible. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic from start to finish!
I recently hired suits for my wedding from Dapper Chaps, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. From the start, the team were incredibly helpful in guiding me through the selection process, offering great advice on how to bring my wedding vision to life.
We had a real mix of varied and awkward sizes across the grooms party, which could have been a total logistical headache. However, the team was absolutely lovely about it. They handled every fitting with ease, making thoughtful, stress-free suggestions that ensured everyone looked perfect and felt comfortable. Thanks to their brilliant service, seeing my vision come together flawlessly on the big day was an amazing feeling. I felt completely confident and well-prepared. Highly recommended!

Fantastic suits

Excellent service and excellent choice of suits!
We recently got married 27.02.26 and used Dapper chaps for our suits in all we hired 3 suits complete with ties, waistcoat, braces and even pockets watches, and my New husband brought his, made to measure. We also brought the shoes from here too.
From the very first visit we knew this was the place! So friendly approachable, theu really are the experts in how to dress and what works with what. Gave Honest and Sound advice! Every appointment was a breeze. Everything laid clear, great service in every visit. Everything was excellent value and quality. We will be using them again just for suits hire amd to buy for all our events now!!.

Tweed Winter Wedding
Could not recommend Dapper Chaps more highly.
The suits were perfect for our winter wedding. We opted for a brown tweed jacket and trousers, with matching waistcoat for the groomsman, and an oat waistcoat for the groom. We all wore a claret tie, which closely matched the burgundy/claret of the bridesmaid dresses.
Most of us opted to buy the shoes, which were very comfortable, and only minimally worn in before the wedding (around the house). No blisters after wearing them all day, and an evening of dancing.
We had shirts, cuff links, tie, and suspenders all included in the package. The accessories and suits were all neatly labelled and packaged together, which made for minimal stress on the day.
6 groomsman, 1 father of the bride, and 1 groom all wore the same suit, and had no issues!
We gave a cash deposit, and we received the full amount back.

They put the DAPPER into our chaps!
We found this supplier by pure chance really, whilst visiting Martel's for a Mother of the Bride outfit. As soon as we walked in their display of suits just caught our eye, they had everything from the tweed we were looking for, in 3 beautiful colours, to dj's and tails etc.
The quality of the suits was superb and the service, well above and beyond.
They did not rush us and they really knew their stuff, helping us with options etc, ensuring we got what we wanted including beautiful leather shoes at an amazing price!
The suits came with everything, including cufflinks and braces. Value for money definitely!
Their service and professionalism was just incredible. No stress and we felt so reassured in everyway.
Collection and return of the suits was very easy, giving us time so we did not need to rush and the alterations were spot on.
I really can't thank them enough for all their help and guidance.
