After months of searching for the perfect wedding cake maker, who had the skills to do royal icing, I came across Jan’s instagram page. I immediately fell in love with her designs, and after looking through the reviews I realised that I had found my perfect cake maker. I was so excited to reach out and book her that I forgot to check her location. Despite being based in Lancashire and our wedding being near Bristol (South Gloucestershire), Jan was so kind and thoughtful that she suggested to deliver our cake and use that opportunity to visit her family in Somerset. I was so grateful and thrilled!

Jan took care of everything, from start to finish, taking away all the worries and stress. She was the only supplier who gave us a relaxed experience from beginning to end. She’s not only talented but highly organised, she was always a step ahead which for a bride planning her own wedding was the best thing I could ask for. Highly recommend Jan for wedding cake! From the start to end, she was very responsive, friendly, attentive and organised, making the wedding cake process completely stress-free. She sent us beautiful cake designs based on our requirements and the final cake looked incredibly elegant and high end! The cake tasted amazing - in fact, our guests demolished 3 out of 4 tiers of wedding cake on the night! We had glowing comments about our wedding cake, all thanks to Jan!!!

From start to finish Jans communication and professionalism were second to none! From the start she made us feel like we were the only couple getting married in the world, taking us into her home were we discussed our vision for our wedding cake. We were treated to a gorgeous sample of Victoria sponge cake and she showed us some of her masterpiece wedding samples. We were sent home with different flavours to try before we decided on the final cake flavours. (All were delicious!!)

Jan provided us with different sketches of our vision, each design unique and different price brackets so we knew exactly what we were getting for the money we were paying.

She kept us appraised with her progress and contacted our wedding venue ahead of the big day to introduce herself and ensure they knew when she would be coming to set up.

We had a cut out heart in the middle of the cake, and as a thoughtful keepsake, Jan kept the middle part she cut out, wrote the date on it for us to keep as a decoration! Another sign of her making us feel special!

My mum is Gluten Free and Jan also made a gorgeous not so mini cake for her too! Which was themed similar to the main wedding cake!

We had our wedding at the end of August and were so glad that we chose Jan to make our cake for us – it was absolutely stunning and tasted amazing.
Jan was just so lovely throughout the whole process of designing our wedding cake. She was very organized and had the perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism. She did everything when she said she was going to and checked in with us multiple times before the wedding which was very much appreciated.
Our initial enquiry was via email and Jan sent over plenty of information about wedding cakes and answered all of the questions we had. Shortly after booking, we had a face to face meeting in Jan’s beautiful kitchen. She made it feel like a really special experience and it was definitely one of our favourite parts of wedding planning– she had several example cakes laid out in the kitchen, her kitchen table was set for us, a big pot of tea and a lovely slice of cake to eat and we sat and discussed all things cake. She sent us away with a lovely box of cake to sample some of the flavours she makes so we could pick what we wanted for the big day.
After the meeting, Jan then set to designing our cake and sent us over 3 different cake sketches and quotes for us to choose from. They were all beautiful and it felt like she had really understood what we were wanting. We chose our favourite but made a few tweaks to it which Jan was happy to do for us.
On the run up to the wedding day Jan checked in with us regularly and also posted several stories to her Instagram account of her making parts of our cake which we really loved and it just made us so excited to see the finished cake on the day!
On the day Jan arrived and set the cake up for us at our venue. It looked beautiful and exactly like the sketch she had drawn for us several months before. We were so happy with it! It also tasted amazing and we had so many compliments on it from our guests. We also had ordered some vanilla macarons which seemed to go down well with the guests, including one guest who had been to Paris earlier on in the year and said Jan’s macarons were better than the ones she had eaten there! As well as the cake and macarons, we also ordered two gift cakes for my Parents and Granny, plus a gluten free one for me These were a small cake, individually and beautifully packaged in clear gift boxes, that were decorated similarly to the main cake. Both my Parents and Granny were over the moon with their cakes and really enjoyed tucking into these after the wedding. The gluten free cake was also fantastic – really tasty and the best gluten free cake I’ve had.
We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Jan. She is so talented and designed and made our perfect wedding cake – we loved it - Thank you so much!

Jan is lovely! We asked for Gluten Free (our main focus) which she was able to accommodate and made cakes which tasted divine. Great choice in flavours, our difficulty was limiting it to three. She met the design brief so well and our cake looked spectacular, the sugar flowers looked real! Highly recommended!
