Knowsley Hall is a luxury wedding venue in the North West of England. Privately owned by The Earl and Countess of Derby, this grand stately home has played host to royalty and esteemed guests for over five centuries. From the moment you drive through the impossing gates onto the Knowsley estate, you will be completely mesmerised by the sheer size and splendour of the surroundings.
Facilities and Capacity
Knowsley Hall's stunning 18th-century Stucco Ballroom is licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships and has a maximum capacity of up to 150 guests depending on layout. The room exudes romance with its beautiful and ornate gold-encrusted detail on the walls and ceiling. After the ceremony, head out to the terrace for reception drinks and canapés on a beautiful summer day. The terrace overlooks the manicured gardens and fountain, creating a stunning backdrop to capture wedding photographs. Don't miss the chance to capture a breathtaking photo by the lake with Knowsley Hall in the distance. Beyond its grandeur, Knowsley Hall offers cozy and intimate rooms, each adorned with exquisite interiors, magnificent artwork, and grand fireplaces.

Our Fairytale wedding
We got married this year at Knowsley Hall and it was undoubtedly the best day of our lives.
From our initial tour of the venue to the day itself, it was nothing short of perfect.
Our guests were blown away with the grandeur of Knowsley Hall and it’s history, their expressions and remarks made the day even more special.
Nothing was too much trouble for the amazing staff at Knowsley Hall. They treated us like Royalty from the moment we arrived, making sure we had everything we needed but blended into the crowds to ensure we still had the best time with our friends and family throughout the night.
Our wedding co ordinator Niall was always just a call or email away during the planning process. Some days I spoke to him more than by own Husband to be! He never rushed me and always took the time to listen to what we wanted. The wedding day itself was no different. Niall was never far away and he even helped to calm my nerves as I stood with my Father before entering the ceremony. He was professional and reassuring, we can not thank him enough.
Everything about Knowsley Hall is impressive. The grounds, the decor, the staff, the food, the accommodation. It was all truly exceptional. We wish we could do it all again.
Knowsley Hall is more than just a venue to us. We left as Husband and Wife, but we left a piece of our hearts at the Hall. We hope to return one day 🤍

Best Wedding Venue Ever
From the very first open evening we attended at Knowsley Hall, we knew this was going to be our wedding venue. It truly is a very special place.
The Hall and the grounds are absolutely stunning and provide the perfect setting for your big day. Having exclusive hire really does make you feel like royalty for the day as you and your guests are free to roam the rooms and grounds as though you live there!
Everybody at Knowsley was fantastic and we couldn’t fault the service.
Bianca, who took us on our tours on open days, is so friendly and helpful. When we saw her at the Hall after booking our wedding, she always greeted us like old friends!
Jason and Niall were outstanding on the lead up to, and during, the special day. They couldn’t do enough for us and handled everything perfectly. True professionals!
We also had some guests who required additional help with mobility on the day. When we made Knowsley aware of this, they ensured that specific staff members were assigned to help these guests with their needs when necessary. This was over and above our expectations, and the guests were absolutely thrilled as they were able to relax and enjoy the day.
The food was absolutely beautiful and served in a gorgeous setting.
Every single detail of the day was incredible and we love looking back over the photos. We just wish we could do it all over again!

The perfect wedding venue
The perfect wedding venue: we got married here in June 2024 - and the place was absolutely perfect. The building is stunningly beautiful and impeccably maintained - and the service offered by Jason, Niall and the staff was outstanding, a mix of calm professionalism and cheerful dedication. Celebrating our wedding at Knowsley Hall has been a dream come true. If you want a fairy-tale wedding, this is the place for you!

Niall, Jason and Megan
We had the most amazing day from start finish, all of ours guests and suppliers who hadn’t worked at Knowsley before commented on how amazing the venue was. The staff were so friendly and helpful, every single one of them went out of their way to make our day perfect, including the wait staff who provided an endless supply of ‘ketchups in a pot’ which our 2 year old was amazed by. They got to know us, advised us on the best way to do things to help our day run smoothly and accommodated every request. We had full use of the venue from 8am on the day of our wedding, which meant our photographer and videographer were able to capture the most perfect pictures of our special venue. Before our wedding day, we were regularly in communication with Niall, Jason and Megan, they were always quick to reply and answer our questions big or small. I dropped off my wedding dress a few days before the wedding and despite hosting other events in the mean time, my dress was kept safe in a locked room along with lots of other supplies we left with staff. Although we had hired a company to dress the venue, we had some personal touches to add, the staff at Knowsley followed our requests to the letter and everything looked better than we could have imagined. On the day, guests who had travelled to attend the wedding arrived early and were made to feel very welcome. Guests never had an empty glass or plate and the food was perfect. During our evening reception, staff made sure there was never a wait at the bar, there was plenty of space for people who wanted to escape the music and staff were very attentive ensuring our older guests had cups of tea and coffee. Once everyone had left, the guests who were staying at the venue were served drinks to the residents lounge and despite it being late, they were always happy to help. The bridal suite and guest rooms were perfect and kept to the highest standard, breakfast the next morning was great and by the time we had all made it downstairs, no one wanted to leave! We had the most amazing time and couldn’t recommend Knowsley hall enough. I can’t wait to go back and stay during their upcoming events. Thank you to all the staff who helped make our day perfect ! X

A perfect day to celebrate our marriage
Knowsley Hall was our venue of choice, having visited several others in the Merseyside area. The scale and grandeur of the Hall made it an easy choice for us, as was the fact that it was, perhaps surprisingly, not the most expensive venue in the local area in terms of its base price for a wedding in March.
From our initial contact with Bianca to our detailed planning with Niall and Megan, we felt both felt we were in safe hands in the months and weeks leading to the wedding. It's important to us that the experience of the events staff shines through both before and during the big day, and we are happy to say that it did. Small matters that a young couple may not have considered are highlighted in the planning stage to enable the day to run smoothly without interruption or disturbance.
We cannot say that there weren't a couple of hiccups along the way, mostly in the communication of what was and wasn't included in our package. But it's worth bearing in mind that the planning of a wedding is usually a months- or year-long process, and small hiccups are liable to happen.
We went with Knowsley's recommended vendors too, who we met during one of their open evenings, and we are glad to say they were equally professional and delivered spectacularly.
Our experience was one of happiness that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. As far as our guests are concerned, we had many comments that this was the best wedding they've ever been to, thanks, in no small part, to the splendor of the venue. We would recommend Knowsley Hall to any couple willing to pull out all the stops to achieving their dream wedding.

We cannot thank Knowsley hall enough for making our special day so PERFECT! Knowsley was the only venue we actually looked at when looking for our wedding - we knew from the start the kind of venue we were looking for and as soon as we stepped into the grounds we knew this was the perfect place. From the start of wedding planning to our wedding day they were absolutely fantastic and went above & beyond to make sure everything was as we asked. On our wedding day everything flowed, Nial was an actual dream & I cannot thank him personally enough as I did not have any doubts or worry the entire day everything was just unbelievably organised and I wish we could go back & relive the most amazing day. Thankyou so so much to all the staff and if your looking for an unbelievable stately home wedding which will be breathtaking then this is the venue for you! x

Our Special Day at Knowsley Hall
We had the most amazing wedding day with our nearest and dearest! The team at Knowsley Hall went above and beyond to make sure every detail of our special day was perfect! We cannot recommend Knowlsey Hall enough, as soon as we stepped into the spectacular grounds we knew it was the one, the venue is absolutely stunning.

Our wedding July 2023
We fell in love with Knowsley Hall the minute we arrived for our first visit.
The venue is exceptionally beautiful and exudes a grandeur and elegance which is surpassed by none in the area.
The staff are so knowledgeable, kind and helpful. Every detail is well thought of and they go out of their way to make your day special in every way.
The food is top notch and no matter which option you choose from their menu, it is quite impressive.
I am vegetarian and the chef prepared a lovely vegetarian option for me and a handful of my guests. We stayed the night before the wedding. The dinner the night before and the breakfast on the day of the wedding was gorgeous. We got so many complements from all our guests on the beauty of the venue, the food and how every little detail was so well managed.
We found the fact that they had their own chef and also offered evening entertainment really helpful as it meant that we had to do less arranging and co-ordinating.
All in all, we had the most spectacular wedding and it is thanks to the team at Knowsley!

Wonderful day, just perfect
I’ll be honest, Knowsley Hall was not our first choice, we had booked a place close by on the Wirral but was cancelled due to a fire. My parents always had reservations with our first choice due to the constant lack of transparency and communication. From the moment I looked at Knowsley hall on an evening open day the staff couldn’t be more helpful and attentive and through the whole process they couldn’t do enough for us and planning was a breeze. Nothing was too much trouble and there was always prompt communication and replies to emails. We couldn’t believe the contrast in styles to the way management handled everything compared to our first venue. The day was wonderful , everything we could have imagined and more. Would recommend Knowsley hall in a heart beat and it should have been our first choice all along! The accommodation was beautiful and food was exceptional.

Perfect day
The day was perfect from start to finish, everything was so effortless we didn’t have to worry about a thing. It’s the dream location all are wedding photos are amazing with breathtaking backdrops. They have the perfect upmost professional team working there! The team are so organised they only do weddings so everything is meticulously planned and executed without you having to worry about a thing. There is quite a lot off things included in the price that are add ons at most wedding places and nothings to much for them. Thanks

Absolutely flawless - a perfect day!
I’m not even sure where to start with this so I will start by saying that everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish!
We viewed several venues and we knew straight away from driving up the drive that Knowsley Hall was the one for us. The venue is just so stunning, we were in complete awe - this doesn’t go away, every time I drove up that drive towards the Hall I was in amazement.
Everything leading up to the day was so seamless, fantastic communication from Niall, Emma and Megan made everything so easy - nothing was too much trouble and they took all of the stress out of it.
On the day, we were looked after by Megan and Adam and they were just fantastic - their attention to detail was second to none - they didn’t miss a thing and were on the ball all day.
Dan, Joseph and Claire were also fantastic, they were so warm and personable that many of our guests commented on how excellent all of the staff were.
Alex - wow. The food was just incredible! We had almost EVERYONE comment on how good the food was. The beef was the best beef I have ever had. It was just exceptional. And the calamari & watermelon canapé was just incredible!
This review will not do any justice to just how good each and every one of the staff at Knowsley Hall were, you made our day just unforgettable and I would not hesitate to recommend you to anybody.
